      Hey partner,I really enjoy what your doing and the way you explain numbers is best on YT, I love iron horse as well but the guys been doing this stuff for so long with so much experience he don't know what it is WE don't know and is often way over a beginners head..I don't mean that in a bad way I'm the same exact way on my passions .most people are knowing how to do something is one thing, teaching what you know is a whole different skill and your the best in this community, try finding an hvac diagnostics video a 22 year old single mom can follow...you won't...I tried...long story but proves my point

  • @uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759

    The longer the time passes me I'm using more axe to delimb. Especially in spruce/fir here in Sweden. It's so nice to turn off the chainsaw, take off headset and work when listening to nature. You use other muscles and feels so much calmer and safer to do so. With the chopping type GB wedgebanger i have in my belt it feels also faster for me. I rather do it in this way and later are back at stump and take the big saw again, measure and cut it up from butt end. [Usually use two saws, one for felling and a revhappy small e.g Husky 242xpg with thin chain to delimb.] Thank you Buckin' for your wellmade uploads!

    • @sebastianleicht
      @sebastianleicht Před 3 lety +1

      The 242XP is really great for delimbing. I also used it in light to medium spurce and for cleaning. Naughty little ripper! Love them! Especially live the way they respond to throttle!

    • @uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759
      @uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759 Před 3 lety +2

      @@sebastianleicht It was a standard saw for corporate fellers/2nd thinners for a long time here in Sweden. They changed saws every year and you could get one after for the cost on one pack of cigarettes! So now I have these for rest of my life incl spare parts and for maybe two (or five) generations more, if there will be gasoline still!?! I've competed in safe delimbing with them also. And NO! Not for sale! I'm 64y now and I've put them i my will and in the prenuptial agreement! Haha!
      Ps.But I still use the three first ones I bought as used. A bit tuned and had them in winter forestry for ~25 years.

    • @sebastianleicht
      @sebastianleicht Před 3 lety +1

      @@uppsalahazzemarkstedt2759 i have only two of fhem, one saved from trash and rebuild and the other repaired for a friend and got her as a present when finished. But some parts are hard to find here in germany. Got them finished with original Parts -new an used- except the piston (they are Meteor with light grinding mod)
      Although I'm more a "Stihl guy" they have a nice rest and are looked after, get some wood to eat all month. Except it goes to bad limbing (stormdamage/bug) then they are in serious duty. One heavyer felling saw, that two fellas and hallelujah!

    I can't decide, I have respect for both builders and I watched the whole series on tinman's , I would put a 20-24 bar on that thing and let her eat and my jaw dropped when I heard Harvey's idle that's wicked sexy sounding
    And I did get a different perspective watching these builds, I typically run what I call my "delimber " saw in the 30's cc, homelite super2, poulan3314 , echo 355T ECT
    Then my absolute go to farm saw is 590 Timberwolf no mod followed by 550xp then 271farmboss taking the rear and for big boy pro stuff I go 70cc+ from 372 and up with 2 different 372 builds one fast one torque,660 ,070 and a 444(and I'm still waiting in a 7310 echo..I have big plans when I get one,can't wait) in progress and what finally clicked watching this is 60's cc units really can be perfect around here you can knock on 70's potential with less weight and more agile for example my back would rather weild the 550 for hours in a job not foolin around than a 372, but the power I like isn't there with the 550 ...seems like a no duh I know but it was enlightening for me I never got into the 60's (excluding my 590 but I'm leaving it 100% stock at least till it's worn out and I tell you what that thing keeps coming back for more it's the terminator of farm/ranch saws my old 450 rancher would be re built 3x's by now I want to see how long this thing goes it don't die) ....now I'm looking for some 60cc class cores

    Man I've never really considered a ax sexy...but dang that handle about 10 min from the end just makes me want to caress it gently like a fine womans leg, such beautiful grain and smooth man that's pretty

    Very instructional and impressive video Buckin. In my very amateur judgement, the Ironman saw performed better and faster than the tinman saw< period!

    Ian is obviously an experienced professional, but the way he runs the saw, digging dogs in makes the saws not run at full rpm. Probably some of it with not being used to the saws, but Buckin makes his cuts keeping full rpm all the time hes skill is so freaking amazing..
    Also Ian overcut that first tree alot, kinda scared me a second there cuz it was leaning and the pounding on the wedges gave it a little scary wiggle backwards.. Idk ive watched maybe 500 buckin videos, never seen him overcut a backcut.

    Grew up barking logs with an axe. Among other things. But would love you to show us how the trees in your area debark with one of your axes. Cheers from Oz.
