I hope the manufacturer will improve the precision of their parts and try to assemble each before selling it. At the price they charge for their cages the parts should really be an exact fit. I was lucky to have found one used for less than retail but sheesh, these parts were really misaligned. I had to file and twist, and pound with a hammer. Took me 4 1/2 hours total to put the thing together!

Same cage buddies! I have the exact same one. I had similar struggles, and some of the bars are bent enough that I had to put some hardware cloth over the whole back. One of the door ps is also a bit sticky, but overall it's a really great cage I think
Question the cage is way to lock? I have cats so I am scared of them since one super smart at opening stuff 🤣

Hi, I was wondering how to potty train a rat. My rats use fleece and no other bedding. Most people say you use there bedding that they go on but since they don't have any how can i train them?
Scarlet Gilder you can use paper bedding or paper pellets in their litter box. Put their poop in the litter box , it shouldn’t take them long to figure out how to go in the litter box .
Scarlet Gilder you can also put a smooth rock from outside in their litter tray because they enjoy peeing on rocks because of their instincts. Make sure you boil the rock for at least 15 minutes before putting it in the cage to kill all the little critters and bad bacteria inside and on the rock.

Thought the new cage was for more rats🙁 but I'm happy that Gracie has a new bigger cage
So... I have an actual Critter Nation... an old one, but still... and I want to remove the divider between the levels. Is there any easy way to do that, you think?

Tasha Hargrove You just do not assemble it with the level you want gone and it should be fine. If you want you can out zip ties to add extra stability.

if its a friend for a rat or rats awesome, but you should never keep rats alone. they are too social to be kept in isolation

"Assembling a New Critter Nation"? What am I doing in the video? Oh, I'm assembling a new Critter nation... Maybe you don't understand what assembling means? Assemble is a verb meaning to fit together the separate component parts of (a machine or other object).... No clickbait here 😂
Well I read "critter nation" and then heard and saw "all living things". I was refering to the fact that if I tried to buy one of these and I got home and it was the opposite item, I could return it for false advertising. I admit I am splitting hairs, but.. it was there to split afterall. ;) No harm meant.
If you watched the full video or did any research you'd know that this is a Critternation without the branding onit, it's still made my Midwest in their factories so if you wanted to return it for whatever reason for "not being as advertised" or for whatever reason, you can still return it to whichever company because they are basically the same, the only difference is you don't get the branding on it. So again, I am still assembling a Critter Nation.
Ah. Well there ya go. If they can literally be interchangable with parts, then I am mistaken. My only point was that it is confusing. I heard the critter nation was the best. I am being overly careful because I have a large home, and female rats (and dogs). Someone beginning their research (like me) can get easily confused. ;)
Okay but this isn’t a critter nation so maybe not use critter nation in the title 🤷♀️

technically its not a critter nation. thats like saying coke is Pepsi. the product is ridiculously similar, but not the same. loved the vid though!
@@jackdavidson2484 actually jack, its like saying coke is coke. This cage and the double critter nation are both made by midwest, they are the EXACT same cage. The only difference is the packaging because petsmart wanted to sell it.
Jack Davidson it’s is the exact same. I own both a critter nation and this cage. The only difference is the name plate.
The same manufacturer make the cage.
