You can also use a shower curtain liner under your cage, it will help protect your floor/carpet from anything that falls down and then it is easy to just wipe and or vacuum. The clear liners aren't very noticeable if you worry about how that might look.

(Cont) i have used Melaleuca products for years and was hoping they were safe to clean cages. 🥰
Since this video I have stopped using the tough and tender product because it contains tea tree and it was irritating one of my gliders. I think it would still be safe to use if it was adequately rinsed off.

If I am building my own cage, can I use hot glue on the outside? There would be no way for a glider to access it. I am using PVC pipe and tenax.

Sorry I meant I need this cage for my guinea pigs until I noticed there isn’t floors between each level ): I need a cage that’s similar to yours but alittle smaller. but I need a small entrance for each floor with a ramp. @@sugargliderdiaries mines so terribly rusty . Had to buy a new cage cantvwait for mine come.. I did have it given to me with my joey. But all black flakes off with 1 wipe. Cant even clean it clean. . Nightmare.

We bought two ferret nations cages and both were damaged. Bent pins. Crooked shelves. Had to modify it to fit cause nothing lined up. Was so frustrating

Hi! I really love all your videos and advice. I am preparing to get my own babies and I was wondering; would this type of cage be too much to start with or should I invest in having one this size before getting them?

I have two double critter nations. I love the cages so much for my gliders but I always wonder why the packaging is so damaged. Perhaps because of the weight? Whatever the case these are the best cages for sugar gliders in my opinion.

No a double is the minimum I would recommend. And I didn’t purchase any ramps because they gliders don’t really use them like rats or chinchillas might 🥰
What did you do about the shelf holes on the inside of the cage?
I just left them 😊
@@sugargliderdiaries I noticed that those holes have sharp edges and in one case I found barbs. When I first got the cage I didn’t notice the holes, but on close inspection of the inside I saw the holes and felt them and they were sharp. Caught me by surprise.

whats the gap size between the grills??
Do you mean between the bottom trays? There is less than a 1/4 or so between the cages but the bottom trays on the inside of the cage have about a 3 inch gap maybe? We trimmed a couple extra trays down and slid the pieces underneath the trays to close the gap.

I think a double critter nation would be bare minimum for 4 gliders

Critter nation its a play of win/lose. Sometimes they come perfect, sometimes really shitty coating. In europe ofcourse. For this price sometimes is really disapointing. And i say it as a person who saw more than 100 of them.
Yes my only complaint is the coating could be better in spots. I still feel like the pros outweigh the cons for me though 😊
@@sugargliderdiaries And its frustrating... i orded them. And in my country they are expensive compere to how much ppl earn. And then its coming in to store and i need to think how to say to ppl that this piece of garbage is really good cage when they look like cheap chinese thing... i love them and hate them in same time.
If this cage didn't weigh over 100LBs for a double unit I'd be concerned about them chewing through the plastic zip ties and escaping.

In the mean time while you think of a mod, use one of the extra trays to put on the bottom shelf under the area with the gap. That way if there is anything that falls through, it gets caught on the spare tray on the bottom :)
