I think it’s highly possible that a new DK is on the horizon. They did mention that there are more games in development that they haven’t shown at E3 and it’s very possible DK is one of them. It might take until next year for an announcement because if DK is in development but not officially shown off at E3 than it must not be that far in development. I’m still confident that Monke Man will return.

Besides, pretty sure WiiBros is referring to the news about Kirby series moving forward into some new phase from a couple of years back which kinda implies that we can expect a new game soon

I don't know if Donkey Kong is super popular in Japan. Japanese companies would rather hear the opinion of the national market BEFORE the International market. Hence why we get so many reveals for forgettable JRPGs. I mean, obviously.
Donkey Kong is quite popular in Japan, seeing as DKC (localized as Super Donkey Kong there) still sold rather well, especially for a western made game, and they even got a third Donkey Konga.
I mean, I'm probably being WAY too optimistic, but they COULD pull out a completely unexpected DK 40th anniversary Direct like they did for Mario. Nah it definitely wasn't Monkey Ball. Many publications have been hearing the same things regarding this new DK title, that it's being developed internally by EPD, so on. This game has been an open secret for rougly a year - 2 years now, the cat was just recently let out of the bag when someone "leaked" it and everyone started talking about it. I will put myself in the line of fire and say that it definitely exists, it just needs a little more time!
Listen, I love me some Donkey Kong, especially Tropical Freeze, and I still have faith that this upcoming game is in the works. But at the end of the day, all I wanted at E3 was games to look forward to in general, as the past couple of years have been a dry spell for me personally. That being said, concerns about franchises I wanted to see like Donkey Kong and Kirby weren't even on my mind with everything else that was shown, and honestly, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania got me more excited than ANY new Donkey Kong game ever would. That announcement was a dream come true for me, and with all the other cool games shown like Mario Party, WarioWare, Advance Wars, and Cruis'n, my patience has become way more tolerable towards the other franchises, so I can last quite a while longer.
One thing to note is Pokemon doesn't count as a Nintendo game. Long story short, since Pokemon is second party they do their own thing - directs, release schedule, etc. Historically, Nintendo has at least one November game even if Pokemon is releasing a game with an occasional exception like Luigi's Mansion releasing on the last day of October to tie in with Halloween and take the role of their November/Christmas release or when there is a 3rd party partnership game. That being said, it doesn't mean we will get another game announced for this year, they are providing assistance to Atlus for SMT5 and may be treating it as a first party game, but that also doesn't mean that is it; we have had Novembers with like 5 first party games before. Ps DK64 was a November game.
I'm not a huge fan, but I've always enjoyed the ape when he appeared. One thing I will say though, I do believe your thoughts on a new game being a thing does have creedence. Even if perhaps only in the capacity of "if not now, when?" Y'know? Kind of a sooner or later mentality.

Now what about zelda 35, dk 40, etc? so much possibilities for games. Here's an alternate take, and again, it's difficult to support and would be a hell of a coincidence too. So nintendo doesn't give a crap about their old games. A few might get the rerelease like skyward sword or their wii u ports, but there's so many older systems with games that peoople want to play and have no option for on the switch. which also has no virtual console, besides a pitiful offering of nes and a few good snes games, which continue to be dripped out every few months. Nintendo realized they could just sell the most popular ports at full price every few years. So they did one release for 3d all stars. a limited release port. They said it was all about the mario celebration, I say they were already planning on the game and just decided to bill it as an anniversary celebration. With a few extra things. I don't think there was ever an intent for a mario anniversary celebration, and there's def no intent for zelda or dk or any other series. Like I do sort of suspect we could get tp/ww ports for switch, but all these other zelda games people want are probably never going to happen, and I def don't see any other games or consoles on nso. I really think the best option for playing a lot of their older games is going to continue to be piracy.

Hmm... I dunno, personally all my instincts are telling me these DK rumors don't have substance behind them. I think the rumors are likely the spawn of the insider/leaker telephone game. Even if someone I trust like Uncle Al here is saying it's legit, I don't know how many rounds of the telephone game have been played between the original source and the info reaching ol' Al's ears. Not too long ago a certain other community was speculating about a potential revival of their franchise. It really looked like the stars were aligning, everything just made sense, and there were one or two specific members of the community saying they were very very confident something was coming and reassuring everyone. And then BAM, on one fateful day, the revival was effectively deconfirmed. Maybe I'm just burned from that time, but my gut feeling is this DK thing is just an illusory pattern in the noise and there's nothing really there. Would love to be wrong, though.
I definitely understand the skepticism. I can tell you that I'm really close to the beginning of the chain in this game of telephone haha. When it's coming is a mystery, it would be best to just enjoy other things for the time being. But you can rest easy knowing it is~

I'm sorry Al but this is getting close to "Half-Life 3 is coming soon, just you wait" levels of desperate. Not to imply that a DK game won't happen eventually, it's still one of Nintendo's big franchises. But if you go spend every year saying "THIS YEAR WILL BE THE ONE I JUST KNOW IT" well no duh you'll be "right" eventually. My stance at this point is "It'll happen when it happens but I won't wait for it to happen". I'd like for it to happen, but I won't be anticipating it or have it in my mind even at this point. If I'm wrong, fantastic! If I'm right , oh well, I can't be disappointed if I have no expectations!
There's definitely a lot of guesswork going on about when it's coming, but I have reason to believe that it is. I'm in touch with the right people, I'll say that haha. It's understandable if you don't take me at my word though. Kind of hard to prove. But like I said in the video, the best thing that anyone can do right now is not think too much about it. This year is looking like a lost cause. Best to just enjoy what games we do have coming!
I don't plan to report on these rumors yet. Zippo has a very spotty track record. I've heard similar rumblings about Nintendo revitalizing the DK brand but nothing about any animation. If I hear of any more concrete info then I'll make a Kong Watch on it.
This is complete tin foil hat thinking right here and this most likely isn’t true at all but what if they were originally planning to reveal the new DK game at E3 but at the last minute they decided not to and are instead waiting to reveal it closer to DK’s official anniversary day. Like I said, this is incredibly unrealistic thinking here and there are a ton of holes with this conspiracy but it was a fun thought I had.

As someone in the Sonic community, I 101% will say that Zippo is to be trusted. A lot of his predictions turned out to be true after 4Chan and Reddit leaked shit on Rangers. He just doesn't get *all* the details right.

Maybe you can make videos instead of canceled DK games or forgotten characters and how these characters and concepts might come back for a future DK game.
Hmm... I dunno, personally all my instincts are telling me these DK rumors don't have substance behind them. I think the rumors are likely the spawn of the insider/leaker telephone game. Even if someone I trust like Uncle Al here is saying it's legit, I don't know how many rounds of the telephone game have been played between the original source and the info reaching ol' Al's ears.
Not too long ago a certain other community was speculating about a potential revival of their franchise. It really looked like the stars were aligning, everything just made sense, and there were one or two specific members of the community saying they were very very confident something was coming and reassuring everyone. And then BAM, on one fateful day, the revival was effectively deconfirmed.
Maybe I'm just burned from that time, but my gut feeling is this DK thing is just an illusory pattern in the noise and there's nothing really there. Would love to be wrong, though.
I definitely understand the skepticism. I can tell you that I'm really close to the beginning of the chain in this game of telephone haha. When it's coming is a mystery, it would be best to just enjoy other things for the time being. But you can rest easy knowing it is~

I don't know if "don't trust leakers" vibes well with your constant assurance that the game exists, to me that just shows you aren't following your own advice.

I'm sorry Al but this is getting close to "Half-Life 3 is coming soon, just you wait" levels of desperate. Not to imply that a DK game won't happen eventually, it's still one of Nintendo's big franchises. But if you go spend every year saying "THIS YEAR WILL BE THE ONE I JUST KNOW IT" well no duh you'll be "right" eventually.
My stance at this point is "It'll happen when it happens but I won't wait for it to happen". I'd like for it to happen, but I won't be anticipating it or have it in my mind even at this point. If I'm wrong, fantastic! If I'm right , oh well, I can't be disappointed if I have no expectations!
There's definitely a lot of guesswork going on about when it's coming, but I have reason to believe that it is. I'm in touch with the right people, I'll say that haha. It's understandable if you don't take me at my word though. Kind of hard to prove. But like I said in the video, the best thing that anyone can do right now is not think too much about it. This year is looking like a lost cause. Best to just enjoy what games we do have coming!

I don't plan to report on these rumors yet. Zippo has a very spotty track record. I've heard similar rumblings about Nintendo revitalizing the DK brand but nothing about any animation. If I hear of any more concrete info then I'll make a Kong Watch on it.

This is complete tin foil hat thinking right here and this most likely isn’t true at all but what if they were originally planning to reveal the new DK game at E3 but at the last minute they decided not to and are instead waiting to reveal it closer to DK’s official anniversary day. Like I said, this is incredibly unrealistic thinking here and there are a ton of holes with this conspiracy but it was a fun thought I had.
I just can't take it anymore. You keep saying DK is making a return yet at every opportunity for the series to appear it hasn't. I mean this year is the 40th anniversary and yet there isn't a game so why would they have one after the celebration. I really can't stand this overconfidence in the resurrection of Donkey Kong so I'm going to unsub, should the be an announcement I will return but man I just don't think they're going to make another game.

@@moneyseeker8886 whether he does or not I'm just tired of hearing about dk like it's *definitely happening* when word has been lacking and absent for nearly 10 years. I admit seeing something like a new Diddy Kong render points toward a new game but then that mario party compilation is revealed which then lessens the possibility of a new donkey kong game. Maybe he has word from a reliable source but these leaks haven't been very much of anything lately and most claims said that DK would be present at E3. I just think DK is very likely in the same boat as F-Zero and Punch Out.

As someone in the Sonic community, I 101% will say that Zippo is to be trusted. A lot of his predictions turned out to be true after 4Chan and Reddit leaked shit on Rangers. He just doesn't get *all* the details right.
He got Metroid Dread right.
But so did many other people.
And he was 50/50 before getting banned. Maybe he gets the info on Sonic right all the time because Sega is super easy to leak.
