    James, thank you, this worked great for my A51 5G! Helped having headset magnifiers w/LED, good lighting, and one of those teeth/gum pipe cleaners. I did bend the speaker cover you talked about damaging, but it was an easy fix. I gently popped it out using a needle, cleaned the 'mesh' and inside of the speaker more, popped the mesh back in using the needle. There are tabs on both sides of the 'mesh' as retention, just note if it's the longer or shorter tab goes into the left or right of the phone. Very easy to pop-in :D Damned pants pocket lint!!

      @@JamesLeow Without 3rd party, how can I get into the system volume and increase it? Like the mtk, we could directly go into system and increase the volume. Can it be done with the galaxy note 8?? Everything else is fine.

    Ok, I have to give you a big thank you. I have a Cubot X19 I bought last year and the volume dropped way down a week ago. I could not find a solution. Came across your video and although I knew my problem was the same, it was not caused by a new protector. However, I knew immediately what had happened. Last week, I cleaned my phone with some detergent and must have got some in the ear piece. My wife and I did a quick clean and I was blown away. Back to normal. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and for saving me having to buy a new phone. Also, I love your video. Straight to the point while keeping it simple and chatty.

  • @40hup

    Thank you so much. I can't tell you how I surprised I was that cleaning the speaker grill did the trick. In my case ist was just (sorry to say) just lint or dust and earwax that clogged the little holes. I used a toothbrush with fine hairs to clean it, and some duct tape to take the wax off, than rather push it in. Man, I was so sure that this was a technical problem that I did not even check this simple physical obstruction first. I did resets, cache cleanups, restarts and a lot of tweaking the volume (adapt sound, volume limit, Equalizer boost...) - wasted about three hours with no effect until I saw you video and took a closer look on that tiny, tiny speaker grill. Now that it is cleaned after 5 minutes, the volume level is back to normal - incredible.

  • @Kevin_Street
    @Kevin_Street Před rokem +2

    Thank you! You did help me, but not in the intended way. I didn't realize the sound was coming out a tiny grill at the very top of the phone. The thing that helped me was when you showed the closeup of your phone with the grill of tiny dots at the very top, because it taught me how to hold my phone during calls. Turns out I was holding my ear too far away.

    Thank you for posting! I have a Samsung Galaxy 20+. My call volume went right down after I installed Whitestone screen protector at the recommendation of Samsung. Went to Samsung again and the man there said my speaker sounded "normal", even though I've just told him I've just gotten off a phone call and I could hardly hear the other speaker. They suggested I send it for repair to Samsung which will take at least 2 working days. I. had to google to find where the speakers are in S20+ and fixed it in a couple of minutes! So thank you for posting!

    This worked beautifully on my Galaxy S9 - masking tape, flosser tool and toothpick. There was buildup on that volume area on the side of the phone. Who knew that could happen. I also set the volume up for all volume settings including media, notifications etc. Think that helped too. Really appreciate James' figuring out a simple solution that carriers etc won't tell you about.

    Genius, thank you so much, worked perfectly. For anyone reading this be very careful of the pressure, Jame is 100% correct you can damage the mesh, which on mine is plastic, I managed to gently push it mostly back into place, so not too bad for me, just be very soft and patient. Also I used a cotton bud to pick off the pieces of glue, just twist it as you do and again be gentle..

    Yes it worked :) In my phone the mesh looked like a series of white dots. But the white stuff actually was gunk. I didn't know that. Maybe it should also be possible to clean it with water, as the phone is waterproof... Anyway now it works again. Thnx. I should have tried this first, before cleaning the cash etc etc.
