- Chicago & Earth Wind & Fire brought their "Heart & Soul" tour to the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio this past Friday, the 19th.
This was a bucket list item for me because I got to share the experience with my son, who raised on the music of both bands.
Here are some highlights from the concert.

Just saw them this past Saturday 8/30…. Amazing how many hits these 2 groups have! Great and wonderful nostalgia…and love singing and dancing along! Chicago took a little time to get the audience back up to where EW&F left us, but it finally happened! Then magical whirlwind when both groups played together!!! So great, so awesome, so much energy- didn’t want it to end☹️
I went last Thursday here in Phoenix at the Footprint Center where the Suns play.... unforgettable concert... I was feeling nostalgic and a little emotional...great music and great time ❤❤❤❤❤❤
saw the show 4 nights later in Toronto - simply outstanding! WIll never forget it - the fun, the musicianship, all the memories they bring back
I should add - went with both of our sons, who each had a fanastic time!

Excellent concert...saw them the next night in Noblesville, IN...been a fan for over 50 yrs!
Hurts to see my heroes get older..reminds me it’s also happening to me..now am in a funk..will go to my vinyl collection so l feel better..🇨🇦

Verdine has certainly come full circle. Back in the day it was his iconic 1976 Olympic White Fender Jazz Bass. Now, his Sadowsky Satin Line signature bass shares the same appearance.

Thank you for posting this AWESOME show's highlights. I've seen Chicago 6 times but never seen E W & F live. Missed them with Lionel Richie earlier this Spring. It would be a blessing to be able to see both of these bands together. Been listening to both bands for over 45 years !

Lionel headlined the Fool in Love Festival in LA last weekend. He brings it, every time.
Real talent
I was at this show. I am a huge Chicago fan, but Earth Wind & Fire blew them off the stage. Part of it was the sound engineers. EWF's guy had them louder and punchier. Still, a great show by both bands.
@oig40203 agreed. I'm also worried about Robert Lamm. Looked lost at times and it was rather disconcerting that he didn't play keyboards for the majority of the show.
@@MarkGunnMedia I noticed that also. I have seen them over 20 times.
Just saw them last night at Jiffy Lube Live in Gainesville Va. the sound for EWF was better than Chicago- better mix but both were still fine. Robert Lamm did not perform. I’m guessing he must be sick.
@@MarkGunnMedia Yes, "lost at times" is a good way of putting it. He was wandering around the stage. He was in good voice though.
@MarkGunnMedia oh dear. Going tomorrow night. When I saw them in February, Lamm was fine.
They are touring HARD. I've seen them every year post Covid. They have had two LA area shows in 2024, and will play here again in March 2025.
I've learned not to sit in the front row if I want good sound. Pankow gets that horn right in the faces of those close. It's fun, but the sound isn't balanced.
These boys are tough
Saw them in Columbus in April of 2016 just before Chicago was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were fantastic. Sat in 2nd row and met the band before the concert. Was the 4th time I have seen them together and have seen Chicago numerous times by themselves. Sadly Chicago is getting older and they should retire. They are straining now and are nearing their 80's. I have all there albums, have fond memories of seeing them in their prime, and their concerts with EWF are fantastic. It is just sad to see them still out there and knowing that this is not as easy as it use to be. I am glad you and your son enjoyed the concert. Just my opinion on Chicago, it makes me sad. I am just behind them in age.
Would somebody please come up with a very good idea, & try to bring these 2 legendary bands, Chicago and Earth, Wind, & Fire together, to Memphis, Tennessee & let them perform at FedExForum, Mud Island Amphitheater, , The Orpheum Theater, The Cannon Center, & also at the Memphis Botanical Garden for the Live At The Garden Conceet series.
They still have it.

Said it before and I'll say it again with respect to Messers Seraphine and Imboden. I think Walfredo Reyes Jr. is the best of the three Chicago drummers.
