Dickie Bird there as well no doubt remembering Tommy Taylor from Barnsley too. Im by no means a Man U fan but I really enjoyed watching and listening to this. God Bless Duncan Edwards and Sir Bobby.
A friend of mine used to live in the Edward's old house in Dudley (1980's/1990/s) she said that people used to come from all over the country (particularly Manchester) to look at the house . Yes Duncan was a black country lad.
Keith Bate that doesnt surprise me one bit. Duncan Edwards is to football fans what Buddy Holly is to rock and roll fans. Imagine of you were a United supporting rock and roll fan in 58 and 59. I think I wouldve either given up on life or become a monk. And i bet there were some people affected by both tragic stories.
David Garswood - great comments. I actually am both a Buddy Holly fan as well as a United fan. Born in the 60s though, so too young to have seen either much missed Buddy or Duncan perform. I intend to make the pilgrimage to Dudley Cemetery later this year. Maybe one day I'll get over to the States to pay my respects to the true King of Rock n Roll.
What could Duncan have gone into achieve? We'll never know. But with the world of football at his feet, we have a pretty good idea. I truly believe the big lad would've picked up the world cup in 1966 RIP Duncan. From a Kingswinford, & fellow Black Country man. YOW WAS BOSTIN MATE
Bobby has always been consistent in his praise for Duncan Edwards but that is some claim: better than any other player I played with (Law, Best) and better than any I played against (Eusebio, Pele, Beckenbauer)
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best
Footballers today aren't fit to lick there boots I'm no united fan but if there had been no Munich they would have ruled football for at least 10 years✌️
The humility of Sir Bobby Charlton never fails to inspire me...
Rest in peace Duncan Edwards God bless you sweet dreams in heaven amen ➕
even his name "Duncan Edwards," sounds magnificent.
During the 50s every schoolboy who was interested in football wanted to be Duncan Edwards. What a legend R.I.P big man along with the other Babes.

As Jimmy Murphy famously said “Duncan was the greatest” #WeWillNeverDie
Magnificent Duncan, there's a great biog on him by James Leighton. Pity about all the
irritating camera clicking on this
Did spoil it a bit.
