Office Hours Live is a weekly call-in show with Tim Heidecker, DJ Douggpound and Vic Berger (aka the holy trinity). Every episode is a wild audio-visual journey with drops, live music, and Tim's rants and riffs on life, music, politics, his kids and whatever else is happening in his life (and the lives of our callers). Special guests have included Jack Black, Fred Armisen, John C. Reilly, Chelsea Peretti, Weyes Blood, Reggie Watts, Bob Odenkirk, Thundercat and more.
“He’s talking to Tommy Lee.”
That part made me laugh 😂😂😂
I had to woke up at 4am today so I'm against wokeism
lol
I'm so happy you are taking the piss out of Maher. I used to be a fan, but he's become a callous old cynic. Please keep it up.
I think maybe Bill Maher was always a shitbag but I grew up and developed an adult conscience and morality. But it's also true that being wealthy rots your brain, so it's probably both.
Yeah when i was a teenager in the 90's I used to love politically incorrect because he generally had decent takes on issues and had on interesting guests and the debates were often entertaining and informative. Fast forward and he has become Grandpa Simpson screaming at the sun because he doesn't understand anything any more and refuses to take the onion off his belt (as was the style at the time).
Is it irony if I woke up to this?
You know what they say, "irony loves company", I just woke up too...
It is it irony of I wake up to my penis being pleasured by a willing partner, and if so can I have some “irony” please?
I ironied this too
Does A.I. understand irony?
@@mikejones9156 as much as anyone else who always uses the term incorrectly
The fact that you got Larry Charles on is great. Love seeing Tim being respected like that
The idea of "wokeism" seems to be Maher's monomania. Why else would he shoehorn it into every ol' conversation? What's the point of even having a guest on his podcast if he directs the convo to this same tired topic every time?
I never saw this director speak before. Seems like an awesome dude.
He's a great storyteller, and that carries over to his interviews
he's a legend.
He’s very cool
@SinclairPoppins you must be living under a rock. Watch his interviews about working on Seinfeld
You cant roast wokeism without Rajat and Jeremy.
'They will cancel me for saying that , they will!!'
Maher prefers Cokeism
I’d sign back up to The Dailey Wire to watch Bill Maher’s “Wokeligulos 2: Disbinking is Thiebklieving”.
😂😂😂
Lol. And you had signed up for it before?
@@nascentcomplacence3302 A very nice South American language learning website allowed my GF and I to watch "What is a Woman" with Spanish subtitles free of charge! However, the Tequila required to get through the class was not included.

Tim, just change the name of your show to "Talking Club Random"
I would watch that all day
Random Club Random
Cant wait to see Tim's take on the Candace Owens podcast with Bill
"I don't think that Bill's the guy to walk us through that."
he should make a comedy documentary about bill maher's failure to adapt to the modern comedy world as he blames everyone but him for his comedy no longer being relevant or shocking in the world.
here's a title "laught at me or leave"
The word turns me so far off when used. Just new PC. No one gets cancelled. They get on CZcams and grift for cash. Everyone is like who are you to claim that everyone knew you to cancel you? I think it’s backlash or feedback, constructive criticism or anything else the internet can go unhinged about.
it honestly sounds like Bill's dentures are loose
Cool to see Tommy Lee is hosting his own podcast now.
Will you all just get off Bill Maher's lawn already!!!!
Andy Kindler can, will, and does talk shit about Bill Maher for hours. Might be a funny guest
Of course he does. He’s a completely insufferable Leftist who’s fully drank the cool-aid.
Energy Vampire in the background furrowing his brow at the talk of wokeism 😅
Love Bill!
Tommy Lee doesn't want to talk about this!
I swear I saw Mark's eyes flash blue as he looked into the camera.
I just noticed Collin Robinson in the back
Bill Maher looks like Anderson Cooper with lupus.
I remember that in the 1970s having long hair as a boy, being asked often "wait are you a boy or a girl?"
well were you?
I love Larry Charles' work! Excellent guest!
It was the religious right Republicans that got his show cancelled in the first place because he said terrorist were brave. Why does he talk about woke so much? Is he a sex pest and we just haven't heard about it yet?
Seems like the most likely scenario
He’s doing mad money. He’s the new “ why I left the left” guy and conservatives love that. And pour in that trust fund moolah.
Bill Maher will always vote for Democrats.
He likes to talk to both sides in person.
Well, he did, he even made a whole damn movie about them called Religiousity.
What do you guys mean by “sex pest”? Bill goes to orgies and employs sex workers, but I thought that was the sort of did the left liked so what is the problem?
It was certified rotten the moment it became a buzzword.
@bacorable As a general rule, I try to avoid using specifically Nazi terminology, so no, I don't think I'll be calling it that. I take everything the Nazis propounded as highly suspect. But you do you, I guess.
My hot take on Bill is he needs to have a trans activist on his show. He always brags that he brings on people from the other side and how nobody else does that. Lately he’s really leaned into anti-trans jokes and views, but to my knowledge has never had someone on to push back on those views, or simply have a dialogue about it. If he can have on Milo Yiannopoulas and Ted Cruz, then why can’t he have Laverne Cox or Jinkx Monsoon. Is he a scared?
Larry is wearing Campfire Cascades right?
Should be titled Maher's Light Bulb and Shade
Seeing Maher even for 30 seconds makes me a bit nauseous
Maher to camera: wokeism is stuupid, alriiiight?
Maher to mirror later that night: stiiiill GOT it!
I think grumpy old man is the wrong term to use
The thing I've noticed about Bill Maher is that he's REALLLLY sensitive about people thinking he's old. He would rage about ageism on his show a few years back when I would watch and when Bill Burr had him on his podcast Maher wanted Burr to basically say they were the same age group 😂 "stop acting like I'm older than you!!!"
Tim is a God! ❤
Tommy Lee is fuckin cool
The empathetic opinion that some folks can’t easily transition to, or are having problems with, new ideas is a nice sentiment but new ideas or new cultural trends don’t have merit just because they are “new”. Directions we take as a culture or society can be horribly wrong. Maher is obsessed and needs to get over the term but his fixation is merited, the stuff going on online and in the public sphere makes for some grim rubbernecking indeed.
what is wokeism Bill?
What people forget about Maher besides the woke stuff is his deep hatred of muslims.
Damn, I kinda like him now.
and that's awesome
A sort of mockumentary about anti-wokeism could be amazing, and needed, honestly.
Bill?
@@atesahabout anti wokism, he said
Not with Bill Maher
*Instead of asking for the copyright-monopolies, or whatever the ell you think the words “master-tapes” means, advocate that:*
All types of intellectual property (IP) laws must be fully abolished immediately, in any and all jurisdictions worldwide. All IP laws are extremely unethical for humankind.
As an aside, IP laws were relatively young at Karl Marx’s time. He was unaware of how they worked, so he didn’t address them at all or about how they negatively affect the working class.
Against Intellectual Monopoly is the most informative book humanity has on the subject now. Against Intellectual Property is another incredible essay, but it’s written from a right-libertarian perspective so if you’re leftist like me you’ll have to read with an open mind and extract what’s helpful. _Only_ these two texts are the gold standard when it comes to intellectual property.
I have a playlist (not _my_ videos) of *the* best videos on intellectual property laws on my channel for all interested.

Bordering on struggle session here.
I love how Tim is trying so carefully not to just flat-out call Bill Maher a narcissist, douchey piece of shit 😛
Nonsense: the point is, that BILL MAHER IS BRAVE AND TRANSGRESSIVE.
Climate Change is another religion that could use a debunking.
It’s a little rude to have a guy on camera in an interview and then try and get him to talk shit about someone he associates with and is likely friends with.
yea tim sounds like howard stern here, embarrassing
@@namesshmames For sure. Tim is awesome, but this comes off a bit douchey to me. Like, I get that he doesn't like Maher and I fully appreciate ripping on his lame podcast, but the guest here is a friend of Maher's. He directed a film with him and is in talks to do another. Maybe save the Maher bashing for when your guest isn't a close associate of his? Or, don't goad him into shitting on his friend, at the very least.
It’s so funny but kinda sad that Motley Crue wanted their doc to be like the Beatles 💀 I’m sure that’s how every band feels
The Beatles/Motley Crue...I can definitely see the similarities 🙄
Is that Mark Proksch?
“Get into bubbles and surround yourself with people that agree with you” …That’s Tim’s show. I think Tim is far more funnier than Bill ever was but Bill’s show presents the audience with bipartisan guests.
That's because Bill is doing a political show. Tim is not. He's a comedian. He has no expectation to interview right wing politicians. I'm not sure what your point is.
@@nickberkawitz6451 If you’re a long time listener to Office Hours like myself you would know that politics is constantly discussed on the show, they’re literally reacting to a clip about politics. The point you missed was the hypocrisy in the statement made.
@@kobweb2994have you even seen office hours? Tim argues with many different guests constantly
I watched two clips of this podcast and I'm already done with it.
Tim is a comedic genius, and Maher is smug and repugnant. But Tim's anaphylactic mockery of perspectives even slightly diverging from the far left is clouding his vision. "Wokeism," as it has come to be defined, is indeed a religion and ripe for satire. Larry Charles would be the perfect director for a mockumentary on this topic. Tim could benefit from learning to think critically about the substance of Maher's arguments, rather than reflexively dismissing everything he says just because the guy's a knob.
So wrong for so many reasons 😂
Let's dip our beaks into that - what do you feel is wrong about my perspective?@@cameronward1567
@@cameronward1567 care to unpack why?
I mean if your daughter lost to a trans swimmer and had to share a changeroom with him it would be a big deal.
It's strange cuz I think Bill thinks she's a man😊
Tim really trying to steer this convo. lol
Maher's obsession with woke parallels Tim's obsession with Bill Maher. Larry Charles is clearly friends with Maher and has lunch with him and Heidecker still wants to have a negative conversation about him.
Sad to see Larry Charles is unable to be real about Bill
What do you want him to say? I thought he was pretty honest about his mate
I think he was being as respectful as he could
Pretty rough to be put in the spot about a friend whose movie you directed. Even if he probably agrees Bill has become pretty painful to watch .
What exactly were you hoping to accomplish?
I think "woke" is a widely used term that is defined very differently depending on who you ask. I think Tim and Bill would agree on more things than not if they were to each define things they support and don't support. I could be wrong though.
You're wrong
bill just labels anything that has happened since 1991 as woke
And you are
Wokeism is a thing look at Tim he lost his funny
Is whining about wokeism funny?
Wokeism isn’t a word. It means nothing.
Trump 2024

Take your meds.
Heidecker in his own way has the same “grumpy old man get off my lawn” energy. He’s not particularly funny, like Maher, but coasted off the success of a few things. Heidecker is just the millennial version of Maher.
There is not the same money making and grifting potential on the left as on the right. Thus, Bill's rightward shift equals money and attention.
I agree but vice versa
@@tankmacnamara3734 lol what?
The guy who’s biggest movie is just mocking central and western asians thinks bill mahr is open minded?! Shocker👀
Tim truly is mentally unstable. He’s with a comedy legend and he’s pressuring him, leading him in what direction to take. It’s actually very disgusting.
Love how Tim can’t make it a week without crying about Bill Maher. You know what’s more pathetic than obsessing over “wokeness”.. obsessing over Bill Maher
That’s just a cowardly and lazy defense mechanism when you can’t say why it’s bad to critique Bill.
Yeah, religion was really a hot topic in 2008. Very fresh. Timmy doesn't like talking "wokeism" because it exposes all the kooky ideas he all of a sudden believes in.
Where are the black people in the room? What’s the deal with that?
Ok Boomers...thx for empty chat...
Well Tim, sometimes you don't get on board because you need to push back on some things. Just because 20 year olds have a certain opinion doesn't make them right.
What do you think the 20 year olds are doing?
Anyone who complains about woke, without acknowledging that it's corporations or virtue- signallers pretending to care about the disenfranchised for personal gain, you're being played by fascists
You're subbed to Michael Brooks, but you're also subbed to Ben Shapiro. Holy fck that is crazy
@@dctaylor480 At Harvard they're signing a letter saying: "We, [...] hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence" + calling Israel an 'apartheid state'

@@Burgmannn sounds accurate, when you consider that Netanyahu's government funded Hamas in order to kill any secular or leftist alternative to Islamist terrorism as a viable path to Palestinian representation.

Bill Maher is the comedian who was cool and edgy when I was in high school and college in the 90's and early 2000's. Now he's the old comedian who's still making the same jokes, but they've lost their bite. He's a product of himself and the environment that he's helped cultivate for the past 30+ years.
I don't know if this is something that happens to a lot of comedians...they get up into their 60's and 70's and their schtick doesn't seem as funny anymore. I've heard that George Carlin, one of the best comedians of all time, was yelling belligerently at his audience toward the end of his performing days.
lol why does Tim hate Bill? I love them both
I find it weird how obsessed Tim is with Bill Maher. Weirdly pathetic.
Ahhh, Bill's become cringe, don't lie. I had to stop watching him because he'd get all catty every time the audience didn't laugh at one of his jokes.
LOL @ 2 minutes in Tim actually claims Bill has an "obsession"... without a hint of self-awareness that he acts like he's Maher's crazy ex-girlfriend. Seriously, Tim clearly lacks the intellectual chops to deal with issues, he should go back to low-brow comedy skits, those were cringey but at least kinda funny, I guess.@@ITX-EcoClass
I find it weird how completely incapable some people are at critically evaluating politics or media. Weirdly pathetic, and tragically ignorant
Me too... Imagine being like Tim here, thinking that going after Bill Maher for his age (born 1956) is a smart rhetorical gambit when talking to Larry Charles (also born 1956). Bill has been hosting a political debate show for his entire professional career, so it's hilarious to watch these guys talk about him being in a "bubble"... PURE PROJECTION
@@marccountry rhetorical gambit? Stick to words as basic as your intellect good boy
What happened to Tim? He used to be funny when he didn't so insecurely obsess over others
Relax Bill
Bitter, whiny nerds. That’s all this is.
He's still funny, just more politically-minded than he was back in the day, at least publicly. Doesn't surprise me that this seems to have coincided with a greater focus on his music. The indie rock world is full of passionate, politically active folks on the left side of the spectrum.
Maher is a smug bore, but I don't really get the degree of Tim's disdain for him. There are far better targets out there.
@@alexgrantham4747it's probably because people think of Bill Maher as the archetype of liberalism, while he's out here spouting conservative talking points and thus making fascism palatable by moving the Overton window ever further rightwards.
It's kinda simple and logical to sht on Bill Maher
Because laughing at smug contrarians will never not be funny.
Also, to certain age group Bill Maher used to be considered "somewhat" edgy. That age group has grown up and now we're laughing *at* him versus *with* him.
what a waste of fender amps
Tim is out of touch with reality
Tim spends way too much time obsessing over Rogan and Maher. Who fucking cares - just sounds like you’re jealous of them (why you would be idk). When every other sound drop is Rogan or Maher, you might be a little obsessive.
If you didn’t care then why did you leave an angry comment about it? Come up with something of substance or your there’s no reason to read what you’re saying.
