My family heritage is out of Belfast, and as time goes on I’ll send you some of their street busking videos as well. I see Vin already found the post, and he is a huge fan of them too. He’s a wealth of information as you see, and a good guy to have as a sub. When I first saw them I was impressed immediately, even with just the two of them on the street busking, and I asked my friend in Belfast about them, and he said that they were very popular, and both of his daughters were huge fans and wore their T-shirts all the time. That was years ago, before they were anything other than buskers.
Nice reaction. If it’s the same Brad, he’s a fan of these ladies for sure. The band name is pronounced like Day-a Matrona and it means Divine Mother Goddess in Irish mythology. Orlaith has three silent letters in her name and it’s simply pronounced like Orla. Mamie is the drummer and she left go to University and Mollie and Orlaith have continued with session drummers. Their debut album is out in May and they have a classic rock style but modern sounding. Mollie and Orlaith swap between guitar and bass and they rock pretty hard at times as well as acoustic numbers. I’d love to see more reactions, especially of their originals like So Damn Dangerous, Nobody’s Child, Red Button, Glory Glory, Stamp on It and Get My Mind Off. They’ve released three singles off the upcoming album, all very different. Black Rain is a brooding slow building song which was voted track of the week by Classic Rock Magazine back in March. I love it but there is only an audio video out. The other two have actual videos, Stuck On You a catchy tune and the latest is Every Night I Want You which is more poppy sound but still a good instrumental track and not a sappy generic pop song. These ladies write and produce their own music and are very talented.

Ron’s a good guy, and he just started this channel a year ago. If you look at the playlists you will recognize quite a few of my favorites 😉. I gave him a bit of their history, who’s who and such.
By the way, I did send him the So Damn Dangerous video, the one with them at night walking around. I was introducing him to them, it was actually the first one on my list, and I told him Mollie was the one with the magnetic blue eyes.😉
