- Charles Barkley, host of "Inside the NBA," discusses the possibility of TNT losing the NBA in the current television rights negotiations, his frustration with the lack of communication from Warner Brothers Discovery about the negotiations, whether the show could continue on another network, reaction from fans to the possible end of "Inside the NBA," the awkwardness of still having to work next season for TNT if they lose the NBA beginning in the 2025-26 season, the lack of loyalty from the NBA and what would make him decide between ESPN, NBC and Amazon if he became a free agent.
Barkley also goes off on CNN for never telling him that his show with Gayle King, "King Charles" was canceled, he explains what could make him be the subject of a comedy roast, who the two nicest GOATS are in sports, the Lakers saying that LeBron James doesn't have a say in their coaching search, reaction to his recent Caitlin Clark rant.
Following Barkley, Sal Licata from WFAN and SNY joins Jimmy for the weekly "Traina Thoughts" segment. This week's topics include the passing of Bill Walton, Angel Hernandez's retirement from Major League Baseball, the mystery behind the Dov Kleinman Twitter account and the latest story about a restaurant charging for a ridiculous service.

Money has always been an issue in every branch of sports but now the greed of the sponsors, tv media and corporations is ruining sports at every level. Trying to figure out ways to make more money is killing college and pro sports, forcing unwanted and unneeded changes down consumers throats. We are changing the face of sports for the worst.

If I were an executive of a TV network bidding for NBA broadcasting rights, I would do everything I could to get Inside The NBA on my network.

Employers don’t say anything about pending doom because they don’t want employees jumping ship when they still need them for a little while. It happens at almost every company - mergers, acquisitions, etc.
Charles Barkley is empathic with David Silver because he has to do what's right for NBA players and shareholders. But on the other hand David Zaslav has to do what's right for WBD shareholders as well. Silver wanted to kick TNT out with prohibitive pricing of NBA rights, that's quite clear so he created this problem. Zaslav is right not to pay any price Silver dreams just because is NBA, it needs to make sense for the company.
I watch inside the NBA and not the NBA. I don't know what I am going to do after. The other shows just don't hit right..
Is there any chance that Shaq, Charles, and Kenny, and their production crew (I heard Ernie intends to stay with TNT regardless) will be hired to do a similar studio show on the platform that ends up taking over TNT's games, e.g. on NBC or Amazon Prime?

without ernie and the whole nba tnt crew it will fail, Shaq, kenny and chuck also have stint in NBA TV, and you will not feel the same entertainment compare to NBA on TNT
I honestly feel like they should transfer the show to NBC. They whole staff so the show could stay the same
I hope that tnt continues to host nba games and the crew remains in tact, but in the event that it does come to an end, I would be ecstatic to see a documentary or a 30 for 30 on their run or even final season of Inside the NBA….just a thought 💭 🏀🤔

I dont even watch basketball, born 89. Just kind of fell out out of it. But the four casting crew brought me back to the game. Maybe they could stick together just work somewhere else. 🤞
NBA on NBC & TNT can be done. The final’s on NBC, the playoff’s on NBC & Peacock. The regular a combination of NBC, Peacock & TNT, that’s 82 games for about 6 months!! With the Studio crew that will have pre & post game talk and/or interview and video replays!!!!

@dreamcage1801 Cable may be too expensive right now but they are going the way of us having to pay $10-15 per month for each channel we want if we want to stream their content.

Charles is great, and Ernie is competent, but it's time for Inside the NBA to be put out of its misery. Kenny's takes are incomprehensible, and Shaq can't discuss anything or anyone without making it about himself and his career.
