- Katrina shows us how to make a simple diamond blanket which can be made using a scrap bag or jelly roll. Katrina has backed her blanket with a fleece (perfect for picnics!) and has quilted it on every other row with a simple wavy line.
The finished blanket measures 50 inches x 64 inches
64 strips measuring 20 inches by 2.5 inches
32 strips measuring 10 inches by 2.5 inches
2.5 inch squares in your highlight fabric

Thank you, Katrina. Wonderful way to use up scraps. ❤
Very nicely done! Love these sorts of designs. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Clear instructions at the right pace for me. Thank you. I like the way you construct the rows with good tips to make it easier for us. Would love to see a finished black and white quilt too.
Nice looking forward to seeing finished black and white one😊
Love this vintage look pattern. Next on my project list. Thank you.
Katherina your so talented 😊
You didn't mention how many 2 1/2" squares to cut. Love this use for the scrap bags. Thank you, Katrina.
Beautiful and fun! I love it! I also love your top!!
That's a great quilt. I really enjoy your videos Katrina, I always understand you. Seems to me that jelly rolls are such fun and so versatile. Think I might get all my scraps and cut them into jelly roll strips.
Fabulous design. Thanks Katrina. I always love your tutorials x
The b & w with a spot of orange are my school colors, from Okla. State University! I love this idea, and it's quick. Thanks for sharing.
I got this machine in December and so far I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to doing free motion quilting with the stitch regulator. I’ve only ever bought 1 Moda scrap bag and most of the strips had the selvage edge along the bottom of the strip and half the strips were cut squint so I only ended up with about 1.5” of useable fabric on the strip rather than 2.5”, some of the strips were only 1.5” wide at one end! I was really disappointed because you couldn’t see this looking at it. It really put me off buying another one.
@@alexandra-zaza-burns o not good
@@user-xn3mb9ui2r it was very disappointing and has put me off buying those scrap bags. I know they often have selvages but the squint cut was not great.
Great idea to use up those extra jelly roll strips or leftover fabric! Love the new Janome machine also.
Great pattern and interesting colors. If you want to see in other color ways, see Jordan Fabrics tutorials. She did it in 2 other colors Jan/2022.
Greetings from Mississippi USA. I love your style of teaching. I have tons of strips to take a chance at this pattern. I am looking forward to the next video.
Looking forward to seeing you next time too.
What a lovely idea! I love your sweet voice. Thank you for the great idea to use those leftover 2.5" strips.
Wow I love this pattern. This would be a great scrap buster. Your directions would great ❤. Thank you
I can’t wait to make this quote pattern. Thank you for sharing with me. Oops I do mean all of us.
I love this pattern, I’m looking forward to see your black and orange one. Thank you for sharing. 😍
Looks so easy , your so great at explaining instructions so thanks for that! Can't wait to try this!!! ❤❤❤
I have purchased the "Moda Scrap Bags"... all different times, different stores.... one does need to watch out, as on the whole length of the strip, all the way down... you get the Bolt End Holes that hold the fabric onto the machinery...these need to be sliced off, prior to using the now narrower strip! Still a fun bag to buy... but be aware of the loss of fabric..
What a great idea! Thank you so much, love your channel.
How delightful! Thank you.
Love the idea of this quilt and want to try it. Thanks for the idea!!!😍
I have made this a couple of times and love it
Thank you for another great idea!!
Very fun make. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing!!!!
I made this quilt from Donna Jordan's instructions a few years ago.. I was new to quilting and I made a scrappy version, I cut the strips from fat quarters. I used orange and green for the diamonds and that made it a little more complicated.
I made a baby quilt using this pattern
🙌🏻🙏
How many 2.5 inch squares?
Do you have a video or pattern for the tulip pillow behind you?
Hello! Yes, we've got a tutorial for this tulip pillow pattern here: czcams.com/video/9ldfiO0-l5Y/video.html
@@SewingStudio thank you sew much!!
When it's sew together do you not lose the tops of the diamonds?
Once those strips are sewn together those diamonds "shrink" and you get a 1\4 inch seam allowance above and below to give you space for crisp points.
I love this quilt pattern. How much yardage is needed for the diamonds and border? ❤
1 meter she said at :59
@@donna8243 Thank you. I missed hearing that. 🙂
Where can I find the pattern please
Sorry, binding not border.
I'm so stupid that I can't remember how to thread a sewing machine....been years
You’re not stupid. 🤗 You can find instructions online. OR, take your machine into a sewing machine repair shop and they’ll show you.
