    I cut all my scraps into 2 1/2" squares or 2 1/2" strips and I actually created my own jelly rolls from scraps! So versatile with these measurements

    When you're making the Grandma's Flower Garden, you never showed yourself removing the paper underneath as you sewed it on? When do you remove it, please? By the way, you are one of the best teachers I've seen! ❤✏️✂️📏🪡🧵

      Hello Carol, Thanks for the lovely words. We aren't sure what video you're referring to - we don't recall demonstrating 'grandmas flower garden'. Are you referring to the english paper piecing? Hope to hear back.

      Very cute. I like this pattern better than the simple Irish chain. I've been meaning to make one... now I can choose this instead. Thx !

    I've thoroughly enjoyed watching you work!
    Right now I'm not able to get any sewing done, but just watching you sew and the whirring sound of the sewing machine has been so calming.
    I had to laugh when you got your pieces a little mixed up before cutting and you stopped yourself! Yes, measure twice and cut once! I'm sure you would have found a way to use your mistake in another quilt.
    Thank you! It was lovely to visit your sewing room!

    Glad you mentioned the framed 4 patch. I happened to watch Katrina’s video on the Battenburg block and had some leftover jelly roll strips in the civil war fabrics and was hooked. I have them cut and when I get a break now and then I sit and sew blocks and add to my basket. Love your other ideas as I love 4 patch quilts. Thank you for sharing!!!🪡🧵🙏

  • @michellejaggard9657

    When you did the Square in a square on point. Using 2 1/2 " squares for center how do you know it is a 4" block? How do you figure the size of the outer (what ends up triangles) blocks? Say I had 5" blocks or 3" blocks for the 4 patch, How do I figure the size of the background blocks?

    Can I ask why you sew the little bit of fabric after you do your blocks ?

    • @SewingStudio
      @SewingStudio  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi Tracey. Jeanette uses a ‘starter scrap’ at the beginning of her blocks to avoid any of the fabric getting caught in the needle plate hole.
