This is an incredible setup tutorial and demonstration!
I assume you didn't fully read the instructions. The reason you measure the 1/32 gap from the blade to the opening in the sled is so that on the first cut you remove 1/32 of the blue rubber strip. The strip is stuck to the underside in a mass production factory and are not guaranteed to be be applied accurately straight. The instructions says to cut off 1/32 of the strip on the first cut to assure that all subsequent cuts are straight. By butting both the edge of the strip and the saw blade against the edge of your timber the way you did, you removed the opportunity to cut the sacrificial strip straight and risk all of your following cuts being miss-aligned. This is a very important step when setting up any new track guide.
You are correct and I agree with the importance of the trim. However this trick IS useful, just add an extra step: Once you've aligned the blade with the exterior edge of the blue guide, loosen the sled, slide a 1/32" bit between the stop block and the base of the saw, tighten the sled back down on the saw base, and adjust the stopblock.

Great video. I like that it is compact, it can be taken apart and put away. My 9 ft DIY track sled is a pain to store.
I viewed on CZcams demo of this guide and the deliverer concluded that it is not accurate. So did many watchers claim the same. But they didn't set up the guide properly as you have and took far more than the 1/32 th off the plastic rim. You presented this video very well and showed that you can get accurate cuts from this guide. Also, I like the comment from og atkinson about using a 1/32 drill bit to measure the gap

This was a great video! I should start by saying, I never leave a comment, like or subscribe to any Channel no matter how much I watch or like it. With that being said, this video was so good and helpful I couldn’t help but sign in to my account and like this video. Great job with this explaining the set up of the Accu-cut. I bought mine and read the owner’s manual, I’m a visual learner so I also decide to look for a CZcams video that I could watch someone explain and show how to properly mount a circular saw on the sled. Your video was the only one that I found helpful and informative. Great job at communicating and explaining what, and how you were doing while you were setting it up. Glad it worked for you. I have tried and tried to get a straight cut with mine, and no matter what I do the cut is NOT straight. It starts out cutting right next to the blue strip but some where in between it gets farther away from the blue strip and so by the end of the cut I am about 1/16th of an inch away from the blue stip. I have tried everything and this thing is just not that good.

Just a couple of things of note.
I noticed when you unboxed the Accu Cut, the saw sled was missing a part. It's a grey piece of plastic that used to support the front of the shoe of the saw, if the front of the shoe is beveled upwards, like your saw is. It's two sided. It installs one way if the front of the shoe is beveled or flip it over if the shoe is flat at the front. Without it not supporting the front of for your particular saw, you may find issues with the saw not staying true in the sled. Check your manual, the use of it covered in there.
Get a hold of Kreg, they're really good about customer satisfaction. They'll probably just send you one free of charge. It's clearly on the video as your taking the sled out of the package, that it's missing.
I would also suggest for cutting sheet goods, you replace your 24 tooth blade, for a 40 tooth or higher blade. You'll get a much cleaner finer cut. You'll have to check and probably readjust your saw to the new blade and track, not all blades are the same thickness from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Kreg also sells a set of clamps that attach to the under side of the track.
Not all sheet goods are billiard table flat. Thinner sheets have a tendency to be less flat than thicker sheets.
I've been using Kreg tools since 1993, and I have more of their tools than I'm willing to admit to my wife.

Good video, thank you. However, this setup doesn't trim the edge as per the instructions and it IS an important step. Also, regarding the slop in the sled that many have commented on and that is quite considerable: I fixed it with UHMW tape: 25 mil on each side of the center slot and 10mil on one side and 5 mil on the other side of the lateral slot. I saw another vid where he used a lot less, maybe it depends on your particular sled, but this was the adequate size for mine and its snug as a glove now. Also, I did this before trimming the edges, so that everything was nice and true. Hope this helps

You could also layer masking tape to get your 1/32" clearance
Seems that the part of the track that moves the most is the middle of the track where the two half pieces of the track are screwed together. So when that moves, it can cause the board to bow in the middle. This bow is magnified the longer the track. What is your experience with this bowing?

Just got one and it was super sloppy. Fixed it with UHMW tape: 25 mil on each side of the center slot and 10mil on one side and 5 mil on the other side of the lateral slot. Snug as a glove now.

You'll notice that I had to use a lot more tape that he did, so to answer your question, it actually looks like it's getting worse, but totally fixable with this method.

What is the length of your sled and it's thickness
What’s it like when you put your saw at a 45 degree angle with that track ?
when it comes down to the wire, the kreg track is to be on your work piece, not your scrap side, so when you marked 8 in from the edge, the way you positioned your set up, you would have had to deduct the thickness of the blade for that to be true.
I was wondering how he accounted for that because he never mentioned it, and I thought it could not be possible that he said that edge right on the 8-inch Mark and then cut it off and it was still 8 in wide

what if the edge you measure from isn't straight, its 1/16 wavey. how do you deal with this?
I use a table saw for rip cuts muy bro but I bought this ACCU CUT system and I was pleasantly surprised by the tracks and how strong they are. It cost me under 100 pounds which is a great deal tbf my friend. I watched other reviews and some of the guys were saying u have to cut some of this blue coloured strip away along the side of the track?? Is that correct or can I forget about this part and just butt the blade up against the plastic bit on the edge of the tracks 7 cut from that position?? I don't want to mess it up so maybe I'll just do what u did and leave it alone man..

So I had considered this, but if you are trying to do any accurate cut and considering the cost how is this a viable option vs just pending the money on a table saw that will give you a repeatable accurate cut each time?
I like your method for setup against the edge of plywood. As far as 1/32 inch, you could use a 1/32 drill bit instead of trying to measure the gap. Thanks

You don’t measure 1/32” it says you’re going to cut about 1/32” off of the guide and to mount your saw with the blade in the center of the right side gap.

And let say your cutting off 4 inches, you put the blue edge of the track on your 4 in mark, mine is off about the width of the blade. Not sure how you set your saw up to cut off the 32nd of an in. @@jamesbarlowjr.3762 man it’s off 1/8” that’s the width of the blade the only real option is to measure 4 1/8” and it will make your drop 4” you just have to account for that 1/8” that it says you don’t have to account for
@@jamesbarlowjr.3762 KREG says you don’t have to do that but I think we are measuring from the wrong side. It’s the only way you could possibly measure 6” and your cut be 6”. Because the blade is going to always take 1/8” off but it will be on the other side of the line if you cut from the right side of the wood to the left but if you cut from left to right is all I can figure. It’s frustrating
question. I just checked out pricing on extension kit and it is $99.00 while the track cutting kit costs $69.00. If i buy (2) track kits i can join 4 tracks together. Correct? If so i can save $30.00 thank you. Sorry stupid question

I did not get a gap. The instructions say to install tighten the set screws on one side first. Then put the other side in, hold the two pieces together and put in the others side’s set screws. I did that - no gap.

I bought one at a big box store yesterday. I’m returning it tomorrow. The set screws are cheap crap, strip easily and backed out on me after a few sheets of plywood. I didn’t catch it till it was too late and the the set screws lost.
It’s a good idea if it was built out of decent material. The quality isn’t worth the price but if you decide to buy one do yourself a favor and superglue the track set screws.
I wouldn't do super glue, you never get them out, but blue loctite is a good application for something like that

I bought the Kreg saw with the table about a year and a half ago. When I saw this Accu-cut, I thought it would be a great addition, after all it is a Greg product enhancing another Kreg product, right? I couldn't believe that when I opened the package, neither of the guides worked with my Kreg saw! What a waste of money!
that first cut you made is visibly not prefect at the 8.theres a sixteenth (at lease) difference.I own an accu-cut and there is significant wiggle room between the track and the saw sled.would be cool to give and accu-rate review :)

The measurements of 8" did not appear to be "perfect" as stated. Seemed that the cut was a little skewed when you look carefully. Off by a 32nd.
Well that was lucky. You incorrectly setup the saw in the base, then cut with the kerf on the finished board side . . . and still managed to have a perfect 8 inch board.
You aren’t following the instructions correctly. You don’t set the blade 1/32” from the edge of the sled. You put the blade roughly in the center of the space of the sled. Then you put the sled on the track, adjust the saw so that the blade will cut off roughly 1/32” from the edge of the guide on the track. Then you make that cut! Now the edge of the track perfectly indexes your cut.
Come on man just about everyone that makes these track saw system have extensions tracks!!
I dislike how you and everyone else with a guide rail video don’t cover and completely skip how you set the rail up to make an accurate cut. You put it together and then never cover how you set it up on the wood to make accurate cuts.

You didn’t follow the instructions at all. It says to CUT 1/32” off of the edge guide that you’re going to be using. That’s their way of being 100% that they edge is exactly even with your saw blade. It clearly says it in step 7 “Trim the guide strip” the way you have it now it can be slightly crooked. If I could post a picture of the steps I would but I came here hoping you had a tip for that step

That is not guessing. My tape measure is divided to 16th. Some tape measures are divided to 32nd. Obviously if you have 16th just go between each tick if you have the 32nd version then you won’t have a problem.

I mean his tape measure has 1/16 in measurements on it, obviously if you go between 2 1/16th tick marks you are at the 1/32nd mark
I guess you could say without a tick mark there, you have to eyeball it, for me it's still not a guess, depends on how well calibrated your eye is
Please understand that there is no such thing as a 'perfectly straight cut'. 'Perfect' is a Platonic concept that does not exist in nature. At the limit, space is not straight. At a more prosaic level, an engineer will never use perfect, exact, or any such term. 'Within tolerance' is the aim- i.e. as straight as the application requires. Using terms like 'perfect' shows that the person does not understand the subject they are discussing.
