    He left us with this footage just before he died. We'll sadly never get another album of Electric Wizard with this type of production. RIP Rolf Startin, you did an incredible job capturing the rawness of the band on Come My Fanatics, Supercoven and Dopethrone.

    It's interesting listening to this because it sounds pretty much identical to the record. no studio manipulation whatsovever. it's dry as a fucking bone--- and perfect for the atmosphere.

      more like just the playing and sound, they didnt do any studio magic other than drown the vocals more in there, also there is way more going in electric wizard riffs than you first realize

      If it doesnt smell like shit, has recording equipment, you can smoke weed without anyone hassling you and top of that you can even leave equipment there over night then its much better than my last band or the training space we were.

    Also, nice place to record the dirtiest fucking album on earth. I particularly love the fact that the door from the control room lead directly to the forest. Never seen that before in any studio.

      It really is an amazing album. After all the doom albums I've yeat listened to, Dopethrone never gets old and nothing really compares to it. So dirty and hazy and the riffs and the drumming and the vocals... God damn, everything about this album is pure fucking gold...

      Just listen to Mind Transferal - its longer and extended version of The Hills Have Eyes. Its so fucking dope, the mix is raw so it is clear this is the heaviest song in the whole universe... I love hypnotizing bouncing that comes in 3:36, whole band give everything they can from theirs guitars and drums!!!

      I'd like to hear more of that groovy jamming without fuzz, just like "The Hills Have Eyes" sound like. It's beautiful and I always wanted more of this specific song. Mind Transferal is a suicidal, drenched in distortion wall of fuzz that really can transfer your mind into another dimension, while "Hills.." chills you like a good marijuana strain. Even if they have anything in common, they're two different worlds and songs.

      drzazgi I’d have to agree, I always wished the hills have eyes was a longer jam recording. It had such a nice groove to it that gave us a little break from the heaviness of the album. But the thing is is that it was way too short of a song, and I REALLY want to hear more from that recording sesh

      Mark greening You fuckin rule man! Saw you guys in Santa Monica,at the Troubadour in 2002. Sounded Sabbathy and crushingly hypnotic. AWSOME caveman style drum fills! We went outside after with you and Tim to smoke some mary jane and Jus acted like he was not into talkin or smokin with the fans? I could tell there was tension within the band.You guys broke up not long after.Whatchu been up 2 these daze?       Its at the Chuckalumba studio over in Dorset, England. I do not remember where exactly it is, I believe the guy who owned the studio is dead now and it is not in business anymore as far as I'm aware.
