- Its funny to think that these Bumpers have better animation than some of the actual shorts (The ones Rudy directed)
I hope one day WB might remaster these bumpers and put 'em on DVD as a bonus feature.
This video got copyright claimed, and i think thats fair, just as long as they let me keep the vid up
I'm 57 now. I remember watching this on reruns in the 1970s
Well, I’m 24 and I still love these cartoons. 😊 You’re never too old for these kind of cartoons; I’d still take them over any lousy modern day cartoon.
Age is just a number. I'm 29 as of 2022 and I still love this cartoon a lot.
@@farishanafiah8461 I couldn’t agree more. My mom’s turning 60 soon and she still loves these cartoons. 😊
My dad is 49 and he loves watching cartoons but only the old school ones because the new ones suck he says and I completely agree
Im 31, greetings from germany
These cartoons only get better as you get older.
(LONG POST WARNING!)
While we all know who directed the interstitials, it’s a little bit of a mystery of who animated it. I have a inkling that it was the animators listed in the credits, so then it would mean that the interstitials were animated by Manny Perez, George Grandpre, Don Williams, Bob Matz, Norm McCabe, and Ted Bonnicksen, with layouts by Dick Ung and backgrounds by George DeLado (Philip DeGuard, despite being listed on the credits, did not work on these interstitials, as he was working for Chuck Jones on both his Tom and Jerry shorts and his 1966 Grinch special.). All of them worked at DePatie-Freleng, and they all (except for Grandpre, Williams and DeLado) worked on DFE’s RoadRunner shorts, so it would make sense.
Perez, Williams, Matz, and Ung were the only ones to stay at DFE following the end of the Warner Bros. short spree. Grandpre and McCabe went to Filmation, Bonnicksen went to work for Warner Bros-Seven Arts when it was founded in ‘67, and it’s unknown where DeLado went.
4.37 this was my favourite background music instrumental. I just love how it built up and up perfectly with the skit and the climax .
1:05 me dying laughing from childhood flashbacks!
I love the end of the intro when the roadrunner’s tongue sound syncs with the animation of the roadrunner vibrating
I remember watching this show with my Twin Sister late at night on Teletroon Retro. Ah, memories....
Same
Same here too
Idk why they had to shut down Teletoon Retro
I live this show and intro, I used to watch this during the mid 80's.
The Coyote roaring from the sewer was really funny.
I remember watching this show with my brother and my mom on Cartoon Network in Kuala Lumpur back in 2007
Roadrunner Options.

lmao😅😅😅
I love the LOONEY TUNES! ONE OF MY FAVORITE SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS
Intro Lyrics: If you're on a highway and Road Runner goes "beep, beep!"
Just step aside or you might end up in a heap,
Road Runner, Road Runner runs down the road all day,
Even the coyote can't make him change his ways.
Road Runner, the coyote's after you,
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.
Road Runner, the coyote's after you,
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.
That coyote is really a crazy clown,
When will he learn that he never can mow him down?
Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone,
Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having fun.
(humming to the chorus "Road Runner, the coyote's after you, Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.")
Outro: If you're on a highway and Road Runner goes "beep, beep!"
Just step aside or you might end up in a heap,
Road Runner, Road Runner runs down the road all day,
Even the coyote can't make him change his ways.
Road Runner, the coyote's after you,
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.
Road Runner, the coyote's after you,
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through.
That coyote is really a crazy clown,
When will he learn that he never can mow him down?
Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone,
Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having fun.
Road Runner, if he catches you you're through!"
Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone,
Just runnin' down the road's his idea of having FUNNNNN!!!!
Thank you!
Poor Coyote fails his plans in a funny way its similar to Tom and Jerry or Bugs Bunny
I love this song! Perfect 60s vibe
And this Cartoon looks cool
This intro really sends shivers down my spine because of the Shining.
*YES, MRS. TORRANCE.*
The theme song is sung and written by Barbara Cameron(and no,she's not Candace Cameron's mom). The bumpers are animated by DePatie-Freleng Studios. Music by William Lava, and produced by David DePatie & Friz Freleng.
Don't forget they were also directed by Robert McKimson (Well, it was either him or an unreasonable facsimile.)
@@d-manthecaptain1382 And Rudy Larriva. I think these bumpers have the Bill Lava music score, the animation by Ross,Smith & Bransford, the sound effects by Lee Gunther and more.
@@michaeljeremyrichards6901 These bumpers were definitely made by Robert McKimson, Even though Chuck Jones would have done better.
@@ClearwaterMK2eh it's better than having Ruby Larriva directing these shorts.
@@I-like-Looney-Tunes It's RUDY Larriva,not Ruby!
One of the Michael Jacksons fav shows!!
Bruh
Where did you hear that?
Huh?
That true?
HOW DID THEY GET A STEREO VERSION OF THIS THEME IF TELEVISION DIDN'T HAVE STEREO UNTIL THE EARLY 1980'S?!!
This was taken from a Canadian broadcast that dates back to around the 2000's or so.
This program should have been called THE WILE E. COYOTE SHOW!
Thanks for the memories.
Those bumpers make for a great episode. What to call it, though? I know. "Bumper Cars." :D
I've been looking for these bumper gags for years and years; thank you so much for this upload!
if you ever find them as audio files, PLEASE past the url for me! Until then, this is all we have!
Rudy Larriva directed 11 of 14 Road-Runner shorts(Friz did "The Wild Chase",and Robert did "Rushing Roulette" and "Sugar & Spies"). The Larriva 11 should be on a Road-Runner DVD with bumpers to "The Road-Runner Show".
If they do release it,then we'll see all 14 DFE Road-Runner cartoons.
Say. I was thinking, Mister Magoo had one DVD that released all of his shorts right? And he only starred in about 53 shorts right? Well then that would mean with Chuck making 25 (Or rather 22.) DFE making 14, and there being about 9 more made after the fact, that comes out to about 49 shorts.
That means Warner Brothers could easily make a set of every Road Runner cartoon, heck maybe they could toss in the ones with Bugs and Wile, the Road Runner show bumpers, or even the shorts made for the The Electric Company as well.
I wonder why they haven't tried this before?
@@d-manthecaptain1382 do you think the singers that sing this song are still alive
@@superfanb5742 Ya know, I'm not really sure.
@@d-manthecaptain1382 it's ok cause.. I'm not sure either. I was a kid when This show was on. Lol
While I love reliving my childhood with this terrific compilation, I think it stinks that Robert McKimson doesn't receive credit for directing the interstitial bumpers
Sadly his directorial unit suffered the most after the 1953 shutdown, when he got to the depatie freeling part of ownership, he had around half the budget of animation ($17,000 vs $35,000). He tried and tried to make quality cartoons, but all of the setbacks (bad budgets, still recouping after 11 years, and an overall burnout in creativity) weighed him down.
I remember watching re runs of the Road Runner Show in XHGC Channel 5 back in the early 2000s.
Hehe, I like the bumper starting at 2:55; Wile E. Coyote does a pretty good job impersonating the Road Runner! But the Road Runner as Wile E... not so much. (I like how he gets much smaller when wearing the Wile E. Coyote suit.)
1:06 GODAMN WILE E!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂
I think Robert McKimson directed these scenes. They look similar to the animation style of Rushing Roulette and Sugar And Spies.
Yeah. And one of the gag bumpers (specifically the Bingo Cannon one) was entirely reused from Rushing Roulette
@@thesuperean3008
The cannon in rushing roulette wasn’t the bingo cannon. That gag you’re referring to was the cannon disguised as a photo booth
@@thesuperean3008I believe what happened is a unknown station used the RoadRunner Show title cards instead of the normal ones (despite them keeping the Abstract WB logo) and so to save time, they added that bumper in the middle of the cartoon. And then it just ended up online as an 16mm print.
"Road Runner, the Coyote is after you Road Runner, if he catches you your through"
Here in Brazil, the end credits from this and other foreign TV shows are cut, except on the cable channels.
Interesting.
Actually the intro and ending used to be shown on the brazilian version but without lyrics
@@diogoalmeida9200 Yeah.
Bummer McKimson didn't direct more Coyote & Roadrunner's
5:52 naughty coyote
The good ole days when cartoons were cartoons not ment to be serious butt all entertainment. AT&T.
4:04 Road Runner, do the thing.
Bumpers directed by Robert mckimson
Childhood nostalgia 😘😁
Also listen to the William Lava intro music and repeat music scores from the Larriva 11 RR shorts.
My child hood right here
I've heard the theme song, and I liked it VERY much. It was written by Barbara Cameron(not related to "Fuller House" star Candace Cameron). These bumpers were done by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises and Format Films. Directed by the late Robert McKimson,he did a good job even though Chuck Jones did his a lot better than him.
and is very dude because Depatie No Was a Warner Bross
Format Films did not make the bumpers - it's all DePatie-Freleng product and directed by Robert McKimson.
Format Films made three Daffy-Speedy shorts between the period when DFE had their contract to produce WB cartoons terminated and WB reopening their cartoon studio with William Hendricks the producer.
@@bartkasper4172I mean, there were many RoadRunner shorts (Larriva Eleven specifically) that were produced at Format. Because of the limited animation and overused music, I can see why people would think this was by Format.

As seen on CBS' Saturday schedule from 1966 through '68.
Weren't the 1971-73 reruns on ABC similar to this?
I think so.

For Long Long Times, I Searched This Opening Theme And Background Music 😎👍 I Found Them Again Today 😎 I'm So Glad 😁 Thanks To Upload 😀 Thank You So Much 🙇
I remember seeing reruns of this show on the Armed Forces Network over in Germany in the mid 1990's, like 1994-1995, when I was younger and growing up.
1:44 Not recommended for children? DAMMIT :(
FYI, the "Not recommended for children" warning on the grenade box is a safety warning precaution to prevent young children from playing with them like toys and therefore getting themselves killed in grenade explosions.
Oh.... okay :)
I'm the weirdo that loves that Bill Lava music in the Rudy Larriva cartoons.

What I don't understand is that why there are no more cartoons like these until today?
Because everyone and their grandparents are more interested in stuff like Big City Greens, Amphibia, Owl House, Loud House and etcetera.
The Adventures Of Road Runner Movie 2!
How is it these TV bumpers look like they were somehow made on a higher budget than the Rudy Larriva produced shorts, considering the latter were produced theatrically? I mean, I don't dislike the Rudy Larriva shorts like most people do, but it's still strange how literal TV bumpers from the 60s can somehow look more high budget than theatrically produced shorts from the same era.
I can say the exact same thing about Hanna-Barbera. Shows: limited animation, commercials and bumpers: high-quality animation. Don’t forget that Art Babbit was at the helm of the commercial department.

ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY.
I SWEAR I vaguely remember seeing these bumpers on the BB/RR Show.
They took bumpers from these and the Bugs Bunny Show when they were combining them together (along with brand new linking segments)
When SBT aired this, only the last part of the intro was shown (I believe maybe the whole intro used to appear in its early years, though I'm not sure about that since I was born in 1995).
The same thing happened with The Tom and Jerry Comedy Show.
Do you like the Chuck Jones Road Runners, the Bob McKimson Road-Runners or the Rudy Larriva Road-Runners?
Chuck and Robert are good, but Rudy's are kinda lackluster most of the time.
Chuck Jones🤟
Rudy's were very low budget and lacked the energy of Chuck's. Bob's were sort of the middle ground, still nothing on Chuck's but maintaining that bit of polish to them as shown here. Chuck's were the top ones no doubt, though I do like Bob and Rudy sometimes broke the formula a bit more.
DEFINITELY Chuck Jones!!! McKimson's were good and Larriva's were OK. When Chuck did it,he never repeated or re-cycled any gags.

We now have audio of the bumpers, that is all that matters...
Does anybody knows the name of the tune from the 1:00 min to 1:35 min? Thanks!
The song has no official name, but that was a tune composed by Bill Lava for the titles of the Larriva Eleven shorts

That's right there.
@dar bo But also the robot dog caught him. Reminiscent of the temporary success that he had with the robot coyote in "The Solid Tin Coyote".
WB should restore the bumpers, change the music to more classical cues, and compile them into a full short.
Nah, they should just restore them and release them as is, no need for revisionist history.
