I love Diana Krall. She does a splendid cover of a lovely song.
Love how she sings this song and all other songs. Her accent is splendid, sweet, romantic. Listening to her sing, is like being in a fluffy cloud that you never want to get off of.
I'm an old fart 75 years. This young Diana Krall, takes me to the 40's and 50's with the likes of Lauren Bacall, Kathren Hepburn and so many "classy" women that every young man dreamed of. Thank you Diana for taking me back to the dreams of a young man.
It's a girl song. And no one ever sang it better than Canada's other greatest gift to jazz. I love the uplifting harmonies and counter melodies as Claus Ogerman's stunning arrangement nears its conclusion. Thanks for sharing Massimo Tizzano.

This is probably the best version of this timeless song ever recorded. It took the voice of Diana and the orchestral arrangement of Claus Ogerman, Jobim's personal arranger, to get it to this level. Velázquez just smiles wherever she is these days. Then again, Ogerman could elevate the Nokia ringtone sound to be an international hit whenever he decided to do so.
@@MarkBlackburnWPGIt was a pleasant surprise that you selected my comment posted 12 years ago. It is as valid today as it was then. The lush production of Diana's entire CD "The Look of Love" contains 10 exquisite selections, all arranged and conducted by Claus Ogerman; perhaps one of the greatest string/orchestral arrangers that ever lived. I am told Ogerman was pulled out of retirement to take part in this project. There isn't one note that is out of place. Diana does her magic to round out this dreamy gem. Glad to meet kindred spirits along the path.

Sinatra's composer friend Alec Wilder, in his landmark book about the GAS said "Frank changed one note in a Gershwin tune and made it better." Pardon the aside, but it's 12:22 and there's no one in the place except me and you. Thanks GateOfDreams! I like to say "Be well and happy" and it's easier when listening to this, or any other Ogerman arrangement, no?

I'm a Mexican that has heard this song by many singers. But Diana has taken it to a new height. It's softer, and more romantic than any other version I have heard. It just gets you in to a romantic mood, sweet for dreaming.
