      @Lucycat Playz She explains at 1:59. She made a real size ruler in Photoshop and printed it in shrink plastic then shrunk it :)
      Maybe you can google ‘print real size ruler’ and just print it on shrink plastic.

    • @lamia8089
      @lamia8089 Před 2 lety

      @Lucycat Playz You can try printing on regular paper and place the shrink plastic sheet on top of it then trace the ruler, cut it out, and shrink it. When tracing you can use an actual ruler to get straight lines :)

    IDK if anyone needs to see this but, when using E6000 glue , I use a scrap plastic piece & pour out a big blob of the glue on to it , then use a ball tip tool to apply it to my earrings , So you don't have to go super fast & It's less messy c:

    The embossing powder technique looks awesome and way faster than adding resin to each one at a time!
    Does it adhere pretty well? Or will the embossed layer pop off if the earring hits anything? Or if you squeeze it?

On what base material do you set it, so it cuts all the way through? I have to cut it twice as it didn't go deep enough through the shrinking paper.

    • @TykitFleine
      @TykitFleine Před rokem +3

      From watching this and handling resin myself I'd say yes the powder is better!
      Resin is much more toxic, requires further safety such as gloves & respirator and you'd need to put down the resin carefully and cure each one in smaller quantities depending on how big the UV lamp is (I have one that would fit maybe half the amount of earrings she made) if you're using shrink plastic you'll already be using an oven to make em shrink so may as well use the exact same method to protect them too!

      You can order it off Amazon. Just search Shrinky Dink. I've tried both the brand Shrinky Dinks and Grafix. Grafix, lately, seem to get better reviews, as some feel the Shrinky Dink brand ones have been reformulated. Don't bother with the clear inkjet. It's not truly clear and instead turns frosted after shrinking. There's a bit of a learning curve too, so don't expect perfection right at the bat and practice. Your heat settings, oven, technique . . . all these can affect the final result. However, that's not to make it seem troublesome. I still have fun experimenting. I even bought white Grafix sheets to pass out for kids for Halloween.

    Will this work if you stick vinyl prints on the shrink plastic instead of printing on the shrink plastic itself?

    How come there’s print on the back of the earrings? Won’t that waste ink? D:

      She mentioned in the beginning that its recycled shrink paper. I imagine it was just for the tutorial or she has awesome customers that are supportive of recycling materials. (recycled = used in another project)

      I sold these as b-grade earrings and had them on clearance or in my lucky bags. I mostly made these for this video!

    I dont know why but I'm the type of person who doesn't understand stuff right away but may explain the whole ruler thing and how it works? I'm confused. Sorry.

      You trace a regular ruler onto shrink plastic so when you shrink it you can tell how the size will end up.

    I bought all this same stuff, but after a few days my design started to bleed. What did I do wrong? 🥲 I thought the embossing powder method was supposed to not cause bleeding
