This is European culture at its highest. An Australian woman of Dutch descent singing a Latin hymn by St. Thomas Aquinas one of the most brilliant philosophers and theologians of all time. The hymn celebrates the bread of angels, Christ the Incarnate Son of God who gave Himself on the cross and presents Himself to us in the Eucharist. Every part of this is a masterwork of love.

Sang this solo in my church choir circa 1962. Harrow Weald north London. St Joseph's Catholic church. Never forgotten it.
and I 60 years ago as an altar boy in St. Mary's Upper Bridge Street Stirling...oh for the Innocence of my youth!
I sang this when I interviewed for st Alban's cathedral choir (circa 2014) and performed a few times thereafter.
And I with the choir at Holy Name Catholic Church in Houston, TX, always have remembered it and that was in 1953.
It was my piece in classical voice lessons years ago

Thanks , mom passed away peacefully at home on Aug 25. I'm still numb, it hasn't sunk in yet. I had this song played during communion at her funeral mass. It was a beautiful send off. Now I'm cleaning out her home reliving my childhood, and it's sad but joyful. I was so blessed to have such a mom. Thank you God for giving me the pleasure of being her daughter. Save me a seat at the Lords banquet mom 😇🙏🦋 miss you so 😢💔

When Mirusia sings, Heaven stops and listens. Such a rich, magnificent voice that reaches our ears, but more importantly, reaches into the heart and soul. Just awesome.
This is well said.--- I have enjoyed so many different types of music. From the Beatles and all the 1960's brought up to the present day. Now in my 70's I have to say the music Andre' brings to us is as good as anything I have ever listened to. The audience only adds to the resplendence.

This is my favourite Latin hymn. I was the soprano in our Convent school choir. It always .akes me cry.❤
I wanna sing. But people here don't allow. Doing this is very difficult. I am a soprano. The choir is public and the teachers provincial protestants and don' t respect us catholics.
I wanna join a convent. Here money is tight and to go there and visit to be sure is not easy. I love clássical music.

Mirusia’s voice is angelic and she sings this with such emotion. A prayer set to song.
Each time a man's soul separates itself from constant prayers and supplications, the flesh begins to seek things that are vain, to the point of conjuring up the vexation of God Almighty. And to be honest, this is one of the music pieces that delights the soul. I wish all men could praise God.

This was my fathers favorite song he told me how he sung it back when he was a boy in church, I never listened to it till after he passed and it brought tears to my eyes in it’s beauty , it was like my life seemed fuller and happier that I was blessed to listen to it , this world would be a better place if everyone would sit back and listen to it .

What makes this so very moving is that it has the touch of the Holy Spirit of God, speaking of that heavenly Bread, broken for us at the Cross.

During my younger years I was privileged, as were numerous others worldwide, to sing this Panis Angelicus, but with the second verse: Te Trina Deitas... sang it mostly at church weddings, also at funeral Masses; as well as Schubert’s Ave Maria and other sacred hymns. This was mostly in and around Selkirk Manitoba in the fifties and early sixties. Great lasting memories.
