Abyss used to be a place where you could go to test your teams against hard stuff, but now its just a challenge that tests your game knowledge, builds, and skill (and luck) simultaneously. I would be super down for this if there was ANYWHERE ELSE in the game that could be the new 'testing grounds' for teams and stuff, since even at world level eight literally everything (including bounties) fall in a single rotation or less on a half built team.
real, now i just use nilou bloom for overworld with yaoyao and nahida, only three of them will obliterate any aoe contents lmao, the last slot i use candace because she's gorgeous lmao
i'd prever mobs to do more damage and have more hp, but move less.. they move way .. WAY too much.
World exploration is suppose to be brain dead. Nobody wants to come home from an 8 hour shift to try hard against fungi on their dailies. There’s no reason for anything outside the abyss to be hard.

Protip: Yoimiya stand on Zhongli Pillar so she stay in place instead of backing away while normal attacking
Climbing the pillar waste more time than simply dash canceling after N5.

@@kuyarence i feel like for comfort and to avoid the pain of cancelling any animations just use her with a shield🤷🏽♀️ u could use layla for cryo application for melt or zhongli for shred or diona for em so yea and also tenacity buff
@@afnanthegreat9046 I still dash cancel with a shield on her because it's a habit already (and also a DPS gain since I love animation cancelling, full of satisfaction), I even dodge with Zhongli shield because I rarely use shielders unless I use Yoi or Tighnari (using a shielder for Yoi is definitely mandatory for me but I hate using climbing on Zhongli's Pillar to prevent step back animation because climbing over it is already a big DPS loss).

I have never touched the abyss. Heck I stay at chamber 5 because I have so little characters

when your characters are doing good, have most talents leveled up and some good artifacts and you remember those 300 primos per chamber you'll feel like trying again :3

Like Im at the point of the game, where I dont even need to move to kill a boss, they are not a chalenge if you dont nerf yourself on purpose (Like only parry, only one unite, dull blade etc)
F2P btw (but from almost day 1 with few breakes)
Endgame means that there is hard content with good rewards and this content not limited by time (once a week, abyss floor restart)
For example they could add something like simulated universe from HSR but make it actually hard by placing strong combination of enemies and making them strong enough to survive few big hits.
Or at least make "Awakened" Weekly bosses with higher lvl and new attacks, faster skills (Like OG Tartaglia boss, they had to nerf him twice)

Great video, IMO the problem with Genshin's combat right now is that it's either mind-numbingly easy (basically every overworld opponent) or difficult enough to make you want to tear your hair out (i.e. this abyss) with no in-between. They really need something like the Simulated Universe in Genshin to allow people who don't have 30 hours a day to farm R5 Catches and 40% CRIT circlets to get consistent rewards.

Edit: apparently people don’t understand sarcasm, OBVIOUSLY you don’t need 30 hours a day to farm, but that doesn’t change the fact that artifacts and level farming is a huge time sink that many people don’t have the time or gumption for. Having an SU in Genshin would mitigate that greatly

In a different perspective though, I think if one really struggles with Spiral Abyss due to lack of raw power or required elements, they can aim for 6 stars of floor 12 instead of 9. The reward of 50 primos might not worth the pain and suffering and desperation they have to take just to get all the stars. If they really want to become strong enough to dominate Spiral Abyss, they can take their time. For example, R5 The Catch requires just 138 fishes. Catching 10 per day should help one gets enough fishes in 2 weeks. Even if we cut that in half due to bad luck, 1 month is still not an excruciatingly long time. 36-star Abyss is like the ultimate goal at the end of the road, we don't have to reach it in like 3 days, or we don't even have to reach it if it pains us so much to do so. Just do what makes you feel happy.
@@NickIsMe171 That’s not the point I’m making. The point is that the combat is either way too easy or way too difficult. My current Razor and Ayaka teams can melt through pretty much any overworld or weekly boss, yet I was unable to even complete the 1st phase of 12-1 within the time limit. I don’t see the enjoyment if your only 2 game difficulty phases are “cake walk” or “Dark Souls”
And sure you can say “well just skip this one” but the Abyss is only getting more difficult and it’s the most consistent repeatable source of primos. If even dedicated creators like Doro struggle for hours, how much more painful is it for F2P or low investment players to either bash their head against the wall or skip hundreds of primos with each iteration. That’s why at least have another mode like SU to fill the interim which is challenging enough to be enjoyable while not being prohibitively difficult to everyone but the 1% whales at the top
Umm I don't think farming artifacts or improving your builds require "30hrs a day".. just resin which is spent in 15mins

Funnily enough, this abyss was the first one I was able to fully clear for a while. Did I get 36 stars? Hell no, but my goal with Floor 12 is basically "survive" anyway, and I finally managed to do that after the last few "wtf" abysses, and I feel proud for getting 4 stars on Floor 12
Edit: First half of Floor 12 was Gorou, Albedo, Qiqi, Itto (I'd been using Dori instead of Qiqi from 9-11 but randomly switched it up), and second half was Nahida, Xingqiu, Shinobu, and Baizhu
yes , mihoyo want you to have a lot of 5 star char to finish the abyss that's why they rotate the abyss enemy so you need new meta or all element type char to finish it

Problem is that this is not f2p friendly which means a lot of people won’t be able clear the abyss nearly as easily as you and you struggled as someone who pays.

Amazing video, Doro! I can't believe Hoyo gave us lvl 100 enemies when we can level up our own characters to lvl 100. When Fontaine comes out( Version 4.0), we better have the ability to level our characters up to lvl 100. Something tells me we are gonna have AR 70 but no Eula.

A lot of leaks say that Eula will have a banner in the first phase of 3.8, however I don't think that AR70 or level 100 characters will be happening any time soon. Plus, levelling a character from 80 to 90 already costs loads of Mora and Hero's Wits, imagine trying to level a character from 90 to 100 - and the same goes for the amount of AR EXP you need to get from 55 to 60, imagine from 60 to 70...

It s insane how the difficulty increased since 1 year ago. Was able to 36 star relatively easily, now even 32-33 stars is quite hard that i m not putting any effort anymore.

With the burgeon team, you want a pyro character with high em to be triggering the burgeons. Try using Nahida -> Bennet -> Kazuha -> Kokomi, Kazuha is the one triggering burgeon so it deals tons of dmg.
Wouldnt sucrose be good since she increases your teams em ?
@@devilkazumi578 she would be an alright alternative but with Kazuha has much better grouping and a much better spaced/more consistent pyro application, Sucrose is too fast making it difficult to generate at least 2 bloom cores before the pyro explodes them.

Is there anyone else I can use instead of Nahida? I had a break and came back to the game not too long ago, the only dendro characters I have are Collei, Kaveh, YaoYao and Alhaitham (with signature). I have the rest of the team, Kazuha at 1k em (FS), Benny and Kokomi built too
@@ashyzz19 you could possibly use YaoYao or Dendro MC instead of Nahida. Or you could use Alhaitham as your on field driver, which might be better. If you do this Kokomi might not provide enough hydro application, so you might have to swap her out for Xingqiu or Yelan, but you would loose a bunch of the healing. I suppose just play around with different characters and find what works best for you.
I will say baizhu really helped me. I used a freeze team and burgeon team with Ayato nahida Xiangling and baizhu and I managed to 33 star it
didn't xiangling have any energy issues in the team? she's the single pyro
@@zihaohe3530 a Xiangling with more than 220% ER and Favonius Lance should be able to run alone in a team. Without Bennett and consistent vaporize (in a burgeon team the hydro aura is often stolen by bloom reaction, so there might not be much left for vaporize), Xiangling's damage is kinda low, so she doesn't have to be built with high atk and good crits. The main stat for a burgeon team is EM anyway, so it's easier to build Xiangling specifically for this team, with sufficient ER and highest as possible EM.
Seriously this abyss made me 1. Want 2 Nahidas and/of 2. Yet another xingqiu and 3. Baizhu 😭

I pity the new players. I had to use seven 5* characters including Raiden, Nahida, Kazuha and Hu Tao in order to get 36 stars, and it wasn't easy. For someone who has started recently, floor 12 is impossible to complete with 36 stars. Heck, simply beating floor 12 is very very difficult if you don't have certain 5* characters.
I mean, I view the Abyss as the one piece of content that not everyone needs to clear (or should feel the need to clear). It's reasonable to get even half rewards each cycle if one wanted.
Well, if someone just started recently, they shouldn't be touching the abyss in the first place. Most of them won't have that much built characters anyway.
I’ve seen people do this abyss with only 4-stars but it seems really hard. The 1st side seems fine enough because beidou and therefore taser is pretty good 1st side, it’s the second side that seems like it would be the tricky one cuz most of the 4-star only teams would prob struggle with one of the baptist shields, I saw zy0x do it with reverse melt but it was very close even with high investment so I’m not sure most players would be able to do it.

The important thing to note for new players is to run low investment -> high reward teams and teams with low gacha farming IMO.
Like teams that rely on transformative reactions seem very good for new players - its much more consistent to farm bosses and leylines for levels rather than farm artifacts for crit (which has low roll chances).
Instead em is much easier, though it has similarly low rates, the build is much easier because you only need to focus two stats: em and er and everything else is fairly secondary.
Although it took a ton of retries I managed to brute force through it with Kazuha, Fischl, Kuki and Kokomi first half and Alhaitham, Thoma, Baizhu and Collei second half.. it was pain tho ngl

@@noobbll I initially used a Childe team first half and a Yoimiya team second half and got 33 stars, then I went back in with the other team comps I mentioned in the other comment for 12-1-2 as I was struggling with that chamber

my tip for players are using aggravate and burgeon teams.aldo bring units like kokomi and zhongli to survive the attacks from the constipated beasts and heralds. the team i used is raiden, kazuha, kokomi, benntt and hu tao, nahida, yelan and zhongli.
You didnt use an aggravate team. I will suggest to use kirara for the dendro slot because shields give stagger immunity.
Only burgeon team will work lol

I have infact beat the abyss.... after 5 hours of constantly trying and quite literally tearing my hair apart.

I hated floor 12, I ended up running the weirdest burgeon team for the second half:
Ayato, Baizhu, Bennet, Xianling, and it actually worked amazingly, that was the only way I was able to do it

This team is not weird tho
This spiral abyss is different from others because all of the meta team comb like raiden national or shinobu full EM will be counter by the shield. Even Yoimiya team comb being counter by hydro shield. But you not always have to build team just like what it said in the book. For example, I try Hutao with Yelan Zhongly Xingqiu cound not make it on time cause the hydro shield so instead of that I replaced Xingqiu with Nahida and it's easily went through everything. This abyss hard when you just don't have the right chars to counter enemy
I used my Heizou hyperbloom for it (Heizou, Nahida, Yelan, and Kuki) and it did incredibly well

It took me a while to 3-star the chamber with the cryo and hydro heralds, but in the end I actually did it with a complete 4 star team: Kirara, Shinobu, Beidou, Xiangling. Wasn't even doing a 4 star challenge or something like that, I just tried a bunch of different teams and this one ended up working.
You see, here Doro commits a mistake often done by the general Genshin playerbase.
One that is very easy to correct actually:
What he should had done is spend $10,000 to C6R5 Yoimiya. (With a bit of luck, of course).
Easy mistake. I hope my insight helped every new player who wants those 50 extra primos. ❤
The hardest from Floor 11 to 12 is becoming crazy and it's properly Will becoming even harder . At this point they need to added floor 13 and Reduce difficulty of floor 12 or its will be impossible for F2P to complete it

As for Abyss, majority that are struggling is down to not having the suitable characters to use, which has nothing to do with "skill". Spamming "skill issue" like every other 13 years old does not make you look cool, it just makes you look generic and egotistic that don't really understand the game or others
I myself have no issue easily 36 Starring the latest Abyss once I have picked the right characters, but I could see why many others would struggle with it, especially those that don't have diverse range of characters for them to use

I somehow managed to 36 star clear this abyss with less than a second to spare on 12-3. I think 12-3 is by far the worst of this spiral for sure. My team was Yae Miko > Kokomi > Sucrose > Fishl (Top half). And Heizou > Xingqiu > Xiangling > Bennett (Bottom half).
I just assume there are 11 floors in abyss

a good thing is to take Bennett on 2nd half. on his ult you have pyro applied to you which prevents you from getting frozen
but they always push you away from his burst :(

you can shred the baptists shields faster with a hyperbloom team for example cyno/raiden, nahida, xingqiu and a flex spot for shield/heal works really well

I got 36 stars doing it on mobile btw. Almost broke my phone. I went with aggravate team 1st half and burgeon team 2nd half. The heralds and the beasts being THE WORST of it all omg. Can't believe we have to do it all over again soon

I don’t so floor 12, I usually do fine 9-11 and am happy lol. However this abyss has been a joy to watch people play!
Literally people were complaining the abyss was too easy, we need more endgame stuff etc and when hoyo made the abyss actually hard they're complaining even more
Yeah I just 6 star floor 12 and call it a day. I lack built fire characters so not gonna sacrifice my sanity for that
They just have skill issue. This abyss is not about dps check but how much you master timings and elemental reactions

Beat it here also! This one took me multiple tries as well since I have to use different team comps (thus change gear) and at the same time retry multiple times because of the RNG, but i got fuel to beat it otherwise my streak would get lost
team comp I used was Ayaka freeze for 1st and Ayato-Nahida Sunfire for 2nd
This abyss really showed me how much not having Zhongli, Kaz, or Kakomi hurts. I have so many other characters but this abyss REALLY zeros in on needing very specific characters, I am forced to skip this content because I could not get lucky enough or buy specific characters when they came out. A VERY dangerous path Hoyo.
It's not that restrictive? You certainly don't need kokomi and and zhongli to clear it heck my only healer on my team is bennet and he's on 2nd half. I just used Yae Sucrose Dendro MC Fosh on first half and Nahida National on second half(bet you can replace nahida with anyone strong and it will still work). Is it easy? Hell no those consecrated beast killed me liked 6 times before I cleared it. Is it doable without defensive options(absolutely). So I really won't call it restrictive it's just do your characters have enough firepower to finish the enemies in a quick enough time as always.

Exactly, i really enjoyed this abyss cause it was not just your regular dps check, but it really put your knowledge in the elements and how to counter them to the test. This eventually led players into building some pretty unusual teams to counter the existing enemies, instead of just using meta confirming teams.

My teams for this abyss cycle are Kazuha-Keqing-Fischl-Baizhu (1st half) and Nahida-Xiangling-Xingqiu-Bennett (2nd half). I really like this one a lot. I am glad that they keep the beasts on the abyss. They are constantly going after you and not running away/don't have invulnerable phase so it's much easier to fight them.
Gratz on the clear! For me it was a fun experience. Zhongli Fischl Xiao Faruzan on the first half and Nahida Yoimiya Yelan Kazuha on the second. I definitely like harder content, but I also do think they should separate it as it becomes harder for newer players to clear abyss unlike people with already built characters. Nice! Yae/Kazuha/Baizhu/Fischl then Zhongli/Nahida/Xingqiu/Diluc got me through it. Yae's turrets being a free dodge helped big time combined with knowing when to dodge the beast's attacks. That being said, yeah it's a difficult abyss.
For anyone wanting an inspiration for team comp I used
First Half: Raiden , sara C6, kazuha and yao yao in the first half
Second Half: Nahida, xingque, xiangling and bennet
(You may also try: yao yao, candace nilou nahida in the First half and a cryo character instead of nahida in the Fecond)
It did take a lot of tries cuz this abyss does so much damage to both ur characters and ur mental health
I saw this live on strim and it was so funny then and it's still funny now. LMAO. Also at some point Doro was like "omg it's an hour past when I was supposed to end stream!" But bro kept going what a champ.

I used Raiden, Nahida, Miko and Jean in first half, and Yoimiya, Yelan, Bennet and Zhongli in second half, in order to 3* chamber 2 and 3. Then I went back and got 3* in chamber one with Raiden, Yelan, Miko and Kazuha in first half, and Nahida, Xiangling, Bennet and Xingqiu in second half.
I had a some difficulties on chamber three (finding the right tactic), and it was a little tough to find a team that could beat chamber one, but all in all it wasn’t too tough.
I love how the first thing we see in the video is Doro trying to eat his mic out of frustration 😂
This abyss was fun and pure pain at the same time, for those having trouble you can try my teams, First half: raiden, sara, kazuha, Benny - Second Half: Nahida, hu Tao, zhongli, xingqiu.

For me, always hated changing teams per chamber. why dont they make one floor just that, one room so you can change team without repeating. so amaze with people having the will and fortitude.
I had so much fun doing the current abyss it made me use teams i never imagined would work together.
I managed to beat it with 5 times with different teams so far and i am still up to try more if i see any more suggestions XD

I have spent two whole days just to get that last star at 12-3. I was very close a few times and it was painful, but I've finally done it. Can't say it's the hardest abyss ever, but certainly the hardest in a very, very long time

I cleared this abyss with keqing aggrevate on first half and nahida team in second half . I didn't feel difficulty untill I reached 12-3 first half
For me, who can't yet afford to care about the time, the hardest thing wasn't the heralds, but those damn beasts...
I'm F2P after failing this abyss, I just have one thing to say 'Osmantis wine tastes the same as I remember but those who shared the memory with me died in the new spiral abyss'.
I am literally laughing after your effort, and yesterday when Spyral Abbys reset, i completed all 4 floors within 30 mins only, it took me 10 mins to complete floor 12 and 20 mins for other 3 floors, but still, NYC , seeing that you not used your Ayaka
All I know is that if this becomes a regular thing I won’t be able to do the last two floors for the next couple years because I only started playing a few months ago and that makes me sadge
I used a NO SHIELD team as a Klee main (since 2020) in this abyss, it's just fun to make yourself be stressed at times. 🤣🤣
And to top it off, I used Nilou Bloom on the first team with with the Terrorshroom and the Consecrated Beasts having high Hydro and Dendro RES, so there's that. 🤣

I find that the best way to beat the” tri-harold” (i dont know his name) is with burgeon, the hydro will get rid of the pyro shield, your pyro deals with the electro shield andrhe dendro character deals with the hydro shield. I personally use Childe, Nahida, Baizhu and Thoma, works like a charm, the shield drop so fast he can barely stand up

Harder content is definitely something I want, but this Spiral Abyss was something else. I prefer the boss rush events we have. A challenge, but also we can use food if we want to make it easier.

I prefer abyss. This boss rush is awesome, but some time limitations, and elemental resistance are absurd.
The options to deal with the challenge are nice, but as they dont even give a symbolic prize to max points, theres no reason to go that far.
Having food is another bad thing, because i dont want to keep farming food to try the hardest result over and over.
chamber 1 is the hardest to clear in time because of the herald shields
Sunfire self swirl with jean or kazuha + Bennett is near mandatory to avoid being frozen all the time and have enough pyro application to break those shields
