This man is one of the greatest Americans and humans to ever grace this earth. More talent in his pinky then most of us will ever have. Sang in 25 languages. College football hall of fame. Civil rights champion. Champion of the working class. Angelic voice. Salute. "What they did not kill went on to organize".
If anyone deserves a biopic its him. If he had been white he would have been lauded as a renaissance man. Althete, scholar, pioneering stage and film actor, opera singer...
If he had not been an undeniable communist and freedom fighter he would have been white washed to serve the empire but there’s no way his message can be made not dangerous. Brilliant man and a true hero
And there's more truth and value to what you said. Knowing how 'right' he was in that encounter, and how simply and firmly direct he was in his reply, is a huge lesson and example for all of us to note and learn from.
BASS! I don't know who classified him as baritone, but that is pretty much 2/3 of males on the planet. He sang easily down to D2 but it was LOUD and vibrant
An amazing black man looking for the respect they deserve And still fighting for today it is sad when there are so many educated peaceful people not being treated as they deserve. Peace love harmony respect is that to much to ask for...? They pray yesterday tomorrow...today amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍🙏🙏👍👍👍
That the world's most prominent democratic government was unable to absorb the views of Paul Robeson, always a great performing artist, without submitting him to serious hardship was inexcusable. To say that does NOT gainsay the fact that Robeson remained an outspoken admirer of Stalin and the USSR long after the terror the Red Army inflicted on the people's of Eastern Europe after World War II. It is incorrect to say that Robeson was merely a civil rights leader, or someone who spoke truth to power, or some such.
So what? The US government was terrorizing his own people without the social equality the Red Army brought. It probably didnt look that bad by comparison.
The Red Army saved the whole Europe and, hence, the whole world from nazi Germany. Not the UK and not the USA of course. Paul understood it, he saw that there was born the first real democratic country - the USSR. As many american actors from the golden era of Hollywood, he understood that communism is the future. And that's why he was a true American.
@@vonitabynoe4766 He taught himself to read and write Chinese. Spoke 30 languages, several of which were African dialects (so they might not qualify as a free-standing language).
Our children history books should be filled with this man’s autobiography.

He was also Valedictorian at the Rutgers College class of 1919
That voice just rips your heart out.
One of my heroes!

But who could play this great man adequately?
sanmavicist, So true. I bet the late Chadwick Boseman would have been honored to play him.

@@nickgov66 I agree. Can't think of anyone who could equal his presence.

this guy is a hero to us, the Russian jews; he wasn't afraid to stand by his jailed Jewish friends when he came with a concert to USSR in 1949
They look and sound so similar.
Holy shit that voice sends chills and the message he sends strikes like John Henry's hammer
In the early 1980's a book was published titled PAUL ROBESON: THE GREAT FORERUNNER. It is an outstanding survey of his life.
His voice is deep.
BASS! I don't know who classified him as baritone, but that is pretty much 2/3 of males on the planet. He sang easily down to D2 but it was LOUD and vibrant

Another Muhamad Ali equal
With respect to Ali not in the same league, so much talent in so many fields.
Paul Robeson was in a class by himself.
