Reading many of the comments here you would think that Leinster should just be presented with the Cup now! A final is a different animal. Anything can happen on the day. You can be sure that ROG will play on the underdog status of La Rochelle. I have no doubt, given his intimate knowledge of Leinster Rugby, that ROG will have his side well prepared.
I agree with you a final is a final. Both teams to reach the final is a good achievement and everyone has their opinion to whom will win the cup. However Iâll go for La Rochelle
Leinster a détruit Toulousaine
@@jeremy_1999u Leinster are a very different team since last year!
Congrats, La Rochelle. Gutsy win. All the best against Leinster.
Delighted for O Gara ,takeing on some of his old mates in the final ,
It will be a great final with two strong teams. Nevertheless racing 92 did a great tournament all along. Thanks
why put up a victorious pic on thumbnail? we know the winner before we start the clip!
Let's face it, Leinster is a huge favourite for the title.
However, I wish La Rochelle shows the same character and gets rid of its flaws to offer a great final !
There were no faults in La Rochelle, just a very boring team to play against!
This resulted in a very mediocre game overall!
Will be a great final . Leinster still hurting from last year and will be eager to give it their all
We could be in for 2012-esc showing
Northern hemisphere rugby different beast atm
There were highlights?
That was a funny game. I guess it boiled down to the pressure, nerves and expectation of such high stakes. I wasnât even focused on match quality (it had itâs moments). It reminded me of an old-school french encounter with high risk running and all out forward play without a whole lot of structure. It was still entertaining & i feel bad for Nolann le Garec whoâs accuracy went in the second half as Racing lost their lead. Ihaia Westâs day wasnât the best either, missing two of the easiest penalties youâll ever see but all was forgiven as he made up for it with the winning try. I just hope ROG gets some structure back into la Rochelle or theyâll be at the mercy of Leinster in terminator mode.
Agree ROG needs to sort out the formation discipline. Leinster are favourites based on that display.
Playing the R92 is never easy for anyone!
La Rochelle have not shown their true colours and it will certainly be different against Leinster, because we know what this Irish team is worth.
@@marccouasnon6973 thx man, hope itâll be the club game of the season!
@@karlosdeevs Thanks Karl, me too, but I could also be satisfied with a defeat, or the whole team has nothing to blame, when you play stronger than you, it's the least you can do...give everything!
You can't really critique Le Garrec after that match. His pack was so, so poor during the first half he got little ball of value to play with. Then in the second, after two men were sent to the bin, he ended up having to tackle some of the biggest players in the Top14 who were flying down his channel - and the other two channels he and the likes of Russell were having to cover at the same time too.
It was reported today that Russell has collected a potentially serious injury as a result. It wouldn't suprise me to find Le Garrec has something similar following his efforts in that semifinal.
Both of them are collecting criticism post-match, when in fact both of them should have been applauded for the grit and determination they showed during that period when Racing were reduced to 13 men.
There are top players on top European teams who can't keep La Rochelle out even with 15 men on their team. He may not have been able to showcase how good he is becoming. But he showed us all a different side to his game that will stand him in equally good stead moving forward.
Both the semi finals had 9s being sacked constantly. The majority of them were early and yet it took the refs an hour to start policing it.
Montpellier/Sale/Racing 92/La Rochelle on one hand, Munster/Leicester/Toulouse/Leinster on the other, no match. Let's go La Rochelle but Leinster deserve the Cup đšđ”-đźđȘ
Oh thanks, but i must say La Rochelle will be hungry as heck
The story of Ronan O Gara being a Munster legend now coaching La Rochelle facing Leinster in the European Cup final is a great story
@@AdTurnerr Yes that's true, but I can't help but think what he must think of Ihaia West missing a kick-off every 2 of them đ
How can you deserve a cup before you play for it?
@@frenchflair7699 man, those were some of the easiest kicks youâll ever see.. Hope someone uses it in their next highlight reel cuz folks shouldnât forget it.
Felt sad that my favorite team Racing 92 couldn't make it to the finals. But it spares them getting absolutely crushed by Leinster I guess.
Commiserations on the result today but I think you are being too harsh on your team. As a Leinster fan I can tell you that we have huge respect for this Racing side. They are a very formidable side who are absolutely capable of beating us on their day. They didn't play anywhere near their best today and yet for large parts of that game they were still the better team. But LR are also a top quality side and I expect them to step up a level or two for the final. We will need to play near 100% to beat them. Let's hope for a classic match. Allez les Blues!! :D
Were there any highlights? Differenr planet to the Leinster Toulose game.
Remboursez ! đ„ł
Le seul rugby qu'on ait vu dans ce match, c'est le coup d'envoi fictif de Daniel Carter.
đ
_Was that a knock on from Toulouse?_
I like it when both teams try to win.
Me too, quantity over quality.
Had the La Rochelle player jackled for the ball in that first disallowed try I recon they would have got a pen considering how many players were off their feet
not shown in this highlights but Thomas blew a certain try by attempting to score himself when he had Imhof unmarked 5-6 meters from him
Itâs gonna be interesting Leinster v La Rochelle and a tough one especially for La Rochelle. However Iâll go for La Rochelle to win the cup
Leinster will steamroll them!!
Iâd love to see them win, but sadly Leinster are going to kill them. Too many penalties and too many errors
We shall see

Why did they play in that field instead of racing 92 arena?
Same as Munster, Racing had booked a concert at the time of the match.
The officials yet again stamping their required result on a game.
Big changes incoming at Racing. On a different note, If Will Skelton comes back from calf injury La Rochelle are a different team.
Leinster can sleep peacefully tonight...such a scrappy game compared to one against Toulouse... I like Teddy Thomas but what he did towards the end of the game is unacceptable really...that's probably why he is not in the French squad despite his capabilities.
I canât remember.. what did he do again?
Good night sunshine.;-)
PurĂ©e la purge... Bravo cependant aux rochelais... qui ont une chance de battre le Leinster a la soule peut ĂȘtre , en revanche aucune chance en jouant au rugby
Whatâs the penalty at 30:40 for?
Leinster looking forward to this
I'm sure they are. ;-)
Not sure how Racing lost this but expect mighty Leinster to beat the French beast boys
Letâs see on Saturday
Nope.
Is anyone going to explain where Will Skelton is?
Pretty sure he has a hamstring injury
@@fearmorpiercemacmaghnais7186 ah ye calf (reported in the IT, and nowhere else apparently).

What has last year got to do with anything ? We'll see on the day
La Rochelle forward pack and with danty and botia in the backline, those are more loose forwards to add to the breakdown.. if the game goes slow, la Rochelle can edge and dominate Leinster in the basics
That was a 2nd string Leinster team last year due to injuries..
Fully loaded this year
Leinster will have too much for them

That's why the performance of the Rochelais is remarkable!
Englandâs version of a trap team is defo Saracens
@@karlosdeevs Certainly, there is a lot going on with the Sarries
Unless the referee bins some Leinster players, La Rochelle do not have much of a chance in the final.

Finn Russell goes missing in a tight game, who would have thought đ
Are you aware that there's more than 1 player on a team? Go and find me a 10 in world rugby that can have a standout game when they're forwards have not got the upper hand physically, are constantly getting pinged for stupid fouls and the game is going set piece to set piece. You don't have a scooby mate

Awful match, but LR are the only team with the power up front to match Leinster. They will all have to raise their game by 40% to stand a chance. Anything less and they'll be spanked by 15-20 points at least. They will need a smart game plan and try to draw Leinster into a fight up front.
They are basically playing the Ireland Team!!!!
Canât wait for Saturday to see the final. Leinster are a good team though I would like to see La Rochelle win the final.
Leinster are going to fillet them.
Not this year AGAIN. Good game. đ€Łđđđđ€Łđđđđ
@@meilmontigny9201 yep La Rochelle deserved it based on the performance
Ref is not good enough for that level. In most games he does he over reacts to something and/or misses something crucial.
Boring. Despite being a big fan of O Gara, I hope Leinster win in style
I hope Rog has a few tricks up his sleeve, it would save the final as a contest.
@@karlosdeevs So do I. I reckon Leinster target West - heâs decent enough but looks like a weak link to me. If Leinster can move that monstrous pack all over the park then itâll be a great spectacle
Nope.
Referee was terrible even in the highlights
Leinster by 15 against La Rochelle.
Guess not.
@@meilmontigny9201 Big surprise! Let's see what Leinster can do when they play the Bulls or Sharks in the URC semi or the Stormers in the URC final wth so many Irish test players in the Leinster team.
The All Blacks are waiting and preparing to meet their challenge. How potent is Leinsters attack against teams with strong defensive qualities such as La Rochelle, Bulls and Stormers? The Sharks defence is poor. We shall soon find out!
@@MoonHoax-md6mp The South African teams' integration into the URC is a really good thing. It wasn't competitive enough with Irish sides being too dominant. Better for the league, better for attractiveness, and better for Irish clubs.
@@MrRikouz Yes, but the URC teams will have to start buying international stars to stay on par with the French top 14. Do the URC teams have the money? The French Top 14 teams resemble International Barbarian Teams.
@@MoonHoax-md6mp Agreed that Top14 teams' budget makes it difficult for others to follow. Not familiar with URC rules, but I believe a league with teams from different countries makes it difficult to have common financial rules, salary cap, etc. A better competitiveness is already a step forward. Even though playing games in South Africa could be disadvantageous for URC teams on the long run.
Pretty standard French vs French European knockout game. They're almost always garbage. Means little about how they'll perform in the next round.
Matt Carley continues to demonstrate why he should be removed from refereeing at this level. Players on both teams had no idea what was happening. Waited far too long to penalise Racing in the first half, then completely failed to penalise La Rochelle's illegality throughout the second.
I'm quite surprised Vakatawa was even able to continue following that shoulder to head he took near the La Rochells try line. Neither Carley, nor Tempest in the TMO truck, reviewed the incident.
Beyond terrible and in fact verging on the downright dangerous. This cannot be allowed to continue.
A ridiculous game. Both sides incompetent though in different ways. LR's kicker stunk up the place. The team moved up the field but giving the ball away each time. Two line outs thrown away at about 10 meters in the first half. Racing did not do much of anything. Among the worst play I have seen.
Dry
By rights Leinster should smash LaR on the basis of this showing not helped by pedantic tedious ref and both sides intent on playing from set piece to set piece, a turgid display
I agree the ref was an unfortunate centre piece with some head scratching calls. Having refereed at a high level I have had my own shockers..... you never want to he the centre of attention.
By rights!!!!!! LOL
@@meilmontigny9201 I am so glad LaR won it, me and all those pundits were wrong! Great result
Dreadful
Racing 92 number 10 should have passed the ball to Vakatawa who is creative and powerful. He would have score 2 tries on his own . What a waste đ€Šââïž
He did pass to him. Many times. And to Thomas. And others.
