Hey there Marcin, i'm a music producer from the Netherlands and I have just finished playing the Witcher 3. After some googling I figured you were the person responsible for the soundtrack and I wish to say hats off to you and the people that helped you sir! I have been listening to world music from a very young age and I feel this is a big part of my inspiration in my own productions nowadays. And you just added to that inspiration, and I thank you for that!
Enstrument called saz, mostly using by middle eastern and asia folks, you can search for: Neşet Ertaş, Şiwan Perwer, Arif Sağ, Musa Eroğlu... some of the musicians.
So that's how Witcher's 3 music was recorded. Beautiful playing! Honest to be, all this music makes a lot on sense in the game, I often stay to listen to that music in the game. Do you call polish this guitar a Green Ant?
the middle 2 strings are taken away. PRetty sure tuning is A (for 2 upper strings) and D (for 3 bottom strings). However, The upper strings do sound super fat, I wonder if he uses a bigger string gauge.
My father plays saz and this is the part of our culture (anatolian), but this reflex which includes rising shoulders, I thought it's the part of culture but mr.Rybacki has it too... maybe it is coming from his master, or maybe that's a reaction body gives when playin this instrument, who knows.
hmm did a little research on the saz most saz have 7 strings this one has 5? the 7 strings are grouped to 3 notes 2 for one note 2 for the 2nd and 3 for the last. like a 12 string guitar. yet this saz has a unique sound? wonder what the setup is on this saz I love this style of play and would love to buy a instrument with a simular sound
Ok let me explain guys. The saz that this guy is using is destroyed beyond belief. It has some tuning pegs missing, now whether that's intentional or not I don't know. The front body also looks scratched and generally in a poor condition. But yes usually a saz will typically have 7 strings, grouped together as 2-2-3 and played as a 3 string instrument and yes it does remind you of a 12 string guitar. On my channel I have a very old but good example of a player of saz who showcases pretty much how professional players in turkey play. I'm also planning to make my own covers soon, games like Diablo, Skyrim etc.
@Tong Yabgu it is versatile but I'm just pointing out what others were asking, I'm pointing out how a standard baglama is usually played. What I don't like seeing is people who think this is normal or even awesome when actually it's quite a terrible setup to play mostly anything. It's like trying to play a guitar with 2 strings, a broken neck, and 10 inch nails, that's the level of difficulty you're inflicting on yourself if you want to play something nice-sounding.
Practice one instrument... practice a ton. Several hours a day every day. Several years of this... if you learned one string instrument -- you can pick up others and play them with a very mild learning curve. It's like learning Germanic languages... if you understand one... it's much easier to learn another.
So I was fkn right. Almost a decade later. I was certain the lute/stringed instrument they most used was Saz. But everywhere i looked people claimed it was some Slavic instrument because the game is made by a Polish studio The Saz btw gavr me and a lot of Turks who played this game a slight Turkish flair to the game lol. Because the music sounds earily Turkish at times due to the Saz
Marcin it is called "bağlama" actually. Saz comes from Farsi and it means instrument. But we use the word saz for every kind of bağlama like kopuz, cura, bağlama, tambura, ikitelli, çöğür. They are called saz but what you are playing is bağlama
you would be a rockstar in the middle ages!
With a song like that he would be crucified XD

Do you have any more footage of the saz performances? This clip alone has made me certain that I have to own and learn to play a Saz. Thank you!

@Orientem Imperium Romanum yeah it is Turkic/Asian instrument
@@androidrumed not middle eastern, it's middle asian. Now just have been playing in Turkish countries.
So awesome!
Is there a longer version? I would love to listen to at least 2 minutes of this as part of my playlist.
is it DAD tuning?
Reis zamanında buradaymış
Way be adam araştırma filan yapıp çalmış
Yeah. A D to be precise. He has taken the middle courses away.
Abi kurbanın oluyum şu notaları at
He's gotten rid of the G in the middle, so I guess it's just AD.
is there a longer version?
Look like this brilliant musician is part of the instrument he plays.
As a composer, how good that is to work with artists like him...👌😄
I want moooore! :D
Anyway, sick instrument, as a guitarist I'd love to try one of these...
Elegancko Mikołaj! ( :
We want more of that!!
I am Turkish and I amazed to see this adroitly using of saz (or "bağlama"). Very glad to see this version.

Hm, I kinda noticed that you possibly could make an endless loop out of this.
You know game was made by pros, when music in game is so good, despite being recorded on sofa
Just got my bağlama
Any good digital versions of the saz for those not able to find an instrumentalist?
+Devin Martin Soundiron has one,they make great vst-instruments! soundiron.com/products/acoustic-saz
What instrument is this?
Does anyone know the tuning for this? And i guess some string are taken away?
the middle 2 strings are taken away. PRetty sure tuning is A (for 2 upper strings) and D (for 3 bottom strings). However, The upper strings do sound super fat, I wonder if he uses a bigger string gauge.
saz ile witcher 3 un müziği birleşince ayrı bi güzel oluyor yav
birleşmiyor. Orijinal müziklerinin hepsi saz ile çalınmış en başından beri. Bunu oyunda bile fark ediyorsun.
My father plays saz and this is the part of our culture (anatolian), but this reflex which includes rising shoulders, I thought it's the part of culture but mr.Rybacki has it too... maybe it is coming from his master, or maybe that's a reaction body gives when playin this instrument, who knows.
Can i buy one?
I was listening for 15 minutes and only now I noticed it's a 17 seconds video ._.
Fucking awesomeeeeee
Türk enstrümanı kullanıldığından emindim zaten
Sounds absolutely awesome
Just curious though, can anyone tell me what instrument is this? Reminds me of a lute, but not quite either...
+HeskeyTime Its a long necked lute. Middle eastern i think.
+HeskeyTime saz, says so in the title.
+KingHochmeister Must've been edited in, pretty sure it wasn't there before. Thanks anyway
+HeskeyTime it is saz! i mean this instrument known as "saz" in Turkey :)
it is saz from turks
Мощно
who would dislike this?
The OG Djent
why is it so short?
New Ringtone
Uuuu Saz, I will get a branch.
Hearing a familiar tune there. Don't tell me O'Dimm is coming back.
Hide all spoons!! >:D
Geralt is back

+Karl Hummer thanks for that. I was wondering today. Time to hit ebay.

the middle (A) strings are missing. So my guess here is that he is tuned in D(2 upper strings) - D(3 bottom strings).

Very good Turkish instrument Saz.

it's a Turkish instrument "saz" or "baglama"
What a sick beard
what instrument is that?
Saz
Can someone tell me how is this Saz tuned?
See those knobs at the end?
What's the tunning I mean@@gilian2587
@@DefiantPotato676 Ah -- that's more advanced a question than I can answer.
wonder if anyone can tell me what tuning he's using
+Karl Hummer awesome thank you!!
What tuning is it? The comment disappeared
You need to tell us what tuning. The comment is gone.
I wanted to know who wrote 'Wolven Storm'. I found the author!
It is short neck Saz?
I just don't understand how you people can play so many instruments. It boggles the mind.
Practice one instrument... practice a ton. Several hours a day every day. Several years of this... if you learned one string instrument -- you can pick up others and play them with a very mild learning curve. A saz usually doesn't have such a thick low string does it? Sounds fucking amazing this way though!
his chord in saz is kinda broken actually :D
Master Mirror ?
