- It took me a while but I'm back doing a few Turrican 2 covers. Written by Chris Huelsbeck, the whole series probably has my favourite OST of all time and I'm surprised I haven't done more from it but time has always been a challenge :)
Anyway, here's the first one of many to come, The Wall. It has such an intense intro bass line and punchy melody to accompany it , it's always been stuck in head all those years and I'm glad I finally got to cover it. What platform did you first play the Turrican games on and what was your first impression of the music ?

Your sound and Turrican continue to be the absolute perfect match.
Amazing recreation. I am amazed how great it sounds with acoustic indtruments.
These are some of the best covers I have heard. Helps that the source material rips but still, super solid
thanks a lot for the support on Patreon ;) pm me there if you want a few mp3s and a wee signed card ;)

My first experience was Turrican 2 on the C64, and although it doesn't feature many tracks, it's probably the music that i remember the most when i think about C64 (Along with the ocean loaders), especially the music playing while you fight the boss in stage 3-2 which imho is a fantastic piece that flew under the radar.
On a Amiga back in my Childhood Years.
I really love the Music of Turrican xP
The Wall comes the second in my mind when thinking of this OST, you just did cover those 2 very first :). I played on Amiga and on NES, also tried inspired fan game Hurrican on PC long time ago.
Turrican II first for me. I discovered turrican I after. I so loved this game and soundtrack. Without any doubt the best on Amiga. Yes please do all the musics ❤️❤️
T1 Level 3.3 - jetpack level.
Is the most underrated Turrican tune, why has no one made a good cover of it yet?
grr- Feel free Ollie :D
Your Turrican covers are always so good. This is another one I will probably keep listening endlessly.
This Musical is a dream...thank you for this Video😀
GENIUS!
One like is not enough on this one. I really love it
W.F. awesoooooome...+++++++
Fantastic arrangement, thank you ever so much!
Turrican II is one of my favourite games and your rendition of the music is amazing.
Highest respect sir - it's pure Gold !
Great!
Simply amazing!!!
Unplugged Cyberstory❗
Just put the four game Turrican collection on my wishlist on the Nintendo Eshop.
That intro is sublime! that bass sounds so bloody good (as does everything else) Fantastic cover as always ollie :)
I like my headphones, but listening with speakers is just better
The last instrument I'd ever expect to be used in a Turrican track is the banjo, and it really works! Great sound, and a top cover!
These string arrangements need to be in a game.
Some absolute genius has created a SNES ROM hack which includes all orchestral versions of the music! There are a bunch all just with better sound and music, some even feature PS1 style cutscenes.
Had to fiddle about in settings to make it work lol.

Cool stuff!
@@dreddbolt It's using the MSU-1 chip from inside the SD2SNES solution and also some other similar products and can be emulated as well.
Chrono Trigger MSU1 for instance is a SNES game with CD audio tracks replacing the MIDIs, and cutscenes from the PS1 version are here too literally in perfect PS1 quality (almost).
Highly recommend!
Turrican Squad, anyone here? :D
Really awesome Cover, it's one of my favourite Tracks from the Game xP
More Turrican please!!
Awesome! 👍
Fantástica !!!
Fantástico..!
Oh yeah, Turrican 2. My childhood!
I've been playing Turrican on the Amiga. My favorites are T1 and 2. The music was so incredibly good, that I still listen to remixes of it while driving or working :) Your covers are definitely something special, very well done!
Oooooooh yeah, a Turrican cover, I love it :)
Turrican 2 was actually one of the first games I played on the Amiga 500 (which I got used from the brother of a schoolmate back then). And indeed, Turrican 2 was the first Turrican I ever played (and one of the very few games I ever finished without cheating). I loved it to pieces and even ripped the TFMX songs from it ;)
The soundtrack from Turrican 2 is still dear to me after all this time. It's awesome to see quality covers and remixes of it turn up every now and then :)
incredible, you are awesome. Thx
Wow, perfect work!
Perfect! At 1:54 it reminds me of "Jump Jet by Alpinestars - Midnight Club II" of 1 min 12s
YEAH another Turrican cover!! The others are as awesome as this one :D
I usually am unimpressed with 1:1 live instrument 'remixes' of "blip & bleep" tunes, but holy heck that mandolin instrumentation was straight out of Led Zeppelin. That picking up and down the banjo string? nice. This is really great all around.
Beautiful work as always , love those Turrican tunes
This is incredible and my fave track from the OST. Well done respect to you!
Thanks Ollie, good music !
thanks a lot :)
I've come to conclusion that I generally like video game art and music more than some of the games from my youth.
Very great performance. Your re-orchestration is really impressive !!
Love your work Ollie! One of my favourites.
Another one of my favorite tunes from the soundtrack. Great work!
BTW, I've met Chris and a few others of Factor 5 at Gamescom this year. Sadly they hadn't much time to talk.
Thanks, Ollie! One of my favourite tracks from my youth. You rock, dude! :)
love it! love supporting fellow youtubers!
God tier!
The best game soundtrack ever. And your version is really beautiful!
Excellent ! This theme feels perfect with a banjo !
Damn, this is sooooo awesome! More Turrican and Amiga covers please!
GRANDE!
YAY! Turrican. Played them the C64 and Amiga! Still remember every level and tune (as I re-played them recently :))
Fantastic!
Great cover. I love it.
great song !! amazing !! turrican 2 for ever
Strong endorsed.
Brilliant game, stunning tune. Amazing recreation :)
Fantastic my friend
AMAZING!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!
Love the shirt. And this was a real cool track! Well done!
Awesome!

20 seconds in and I'm already know that is good shit!
Turrican OST is my favourite
THX for it
Greetings from Czech Republic !!!
Loved the whole thing, was really awesome. :D
More Turrican is never a bad thing. Gorgeous cover Mr Ollie :D
*Toujours aussi cool Longz, cette version est bien planante , tranquille, bisous*
I wouldn't change a thing about this cover... perfect! :)
Amazing, I feel Turrican never gets any love.
The Man Behind the Banjo is back!!
Really enjoyed the cover.
I'm here every week dude :)
Great idea to play this with acoustic instruments. Good job !
Good game the turrican, one of my favorites. The question is how they put this game with the incredible soundtrack in only one disckett ???
Well, Turrican II actually takes two floppy disks. Another thing is that the music was made in TFMX format in which multiple songs use the same set of instruments (and instrument data takes a lion's share of disk space compared to song data).
@@ijontichy6247 Sorry. You are wrong. the original Version only came on one disk. The illegal copy came on two..
Check out the official Version on the factor5-website
They used the Mod Tracker system, or something similar to it, where you have one sound file for each instrument, and then a number of tracks, up to 4 in parallel, with time indicators for when instrument is to be played, and how it's meant to vary in pitch relative to the actual sound file (so that you can play different tones with the same one instrument).
Best game ever, best soundtrack ever, best youtuber ever !
Awesome
I shared your videos with my friends
Wow. I am speechless. Great. I remember this song from the game - I played it a long time ago for a long time. But the music of this game was running even longer. And you made a great cover - forget about great, it´s awesome. As I said, I am speechless. Wow
oh my! this is great! :-D
Excellent! You are very musically talented as I've said before =D
Great! :-)
One word. Amazing! Cant wait for more turrican 2 songs. One of the best gamemusic ever. Would love to see you do shadow of the beast from Amiga 500 and delta from c64.
thanks a lot.

@@banjoguyollieYou are awesome 👏👍
Best wishes 😊
Another brilliant cover. I enjoy the Amiga ones as that's my favourite Computer. Turrican 2 was the first one I played and I was blown away by it's graphics, sound and amazing soundtrack. Well done on another brilliant cover and video.
New I'd find you here lol👍
@@leerobertson7226 Oh yes indeedy pal.
@@MorganJustGames 👏👏
Nice Soundtrack
Nice job. Only recently discovered Turrican and its music. Like to listen to the OSTs while I draw and do work. :)
I`m a simple man. I see Turrican video I click like.
Awesome :-)
Rad!
I wish you’d do the entire T2 soundtrack. This is great stuff. My favourite in addition to this is probably concerto for laser and enemies
LOL, you know what? this is a very good cover version, I would never thought it could work, good job, lol.
TURRICAN RULES!
I think I had this game in the Amstrad
Noice !
Wow, you busted out quite the arsenal for this one. Aside from the great music, I really dig the Fool of a Took shirt;)
Oh, snap! You did this one also? ... That settles it ... Subbed!
Supercars amiga theme
Very nice cover! Hope to see some more great Hülsbeck tunes getting a fresh sound so just had to subscribe. Bionic Action (or level 1-1 in Turrican 3, also found in Super Turrican and Mega Turrican) is also a great tune, in case you’re looking for suggestions... Not Chris’ work, but Amiga music at its best in my opinion is also Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge. My personal preferences being the Main Title and race tracks 3 & 4. Giana Sisters is another great classic that would need some banjo treatment 😉
Great job, man! Your covers always cheer me up. Keep up the good work 👌
Would love to hear a Crash Bandicoot Warped Theme cover someday. (:
thanks a lot. Consider supporting the channel, I do take suggestions from Patreon contributors from time to time ;)
I did do a collaboration of the Dingodile theme a while back actually
Masterpiece!
Have you done Leander already?
thanks a lot. I do take suggestions from Patreon contributors from time to time :) Leander is quite a long tune though, it would take a while to produce
Dragon fight pleeease !!! You're such a genius, thanks for the cover! 😍
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WHY DID YOU START TALKING AT THE BEST PART?!?!?!?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!??!?!
But seriously, awesome! You turned me into an eleven year old for a few minutes. I thank you.
Geil.
Bass on Uke. No sense in breaking the Took mold. Nice.
Someone else has called it the "tropical bass".
Nice man, just found you there. Traps, Freedom or The Great Bath to follow?
That moment when you realize you didn't know the track because you was never in that level.
OOF.....
