2002 Honda Cr 125
This is the first video I've made using the Canon 60D DSLR camera.
Ended up making a video of myself when I changed the piston on the Honda Cr125. I have noticed that not all of the scenes are in the correct position during the video. I'm not a very good mechanic either so during the video you may see some flaws but all in all the Cr is running very well! It has already many hours on the track!
This video might help others to changed piston themselves.
Hope you like the video.
Thanks!

for people who want to save time. dont take the head off. unless the gasket is damaged or you are having compression problems there is no need, just slide the barrel out from the top and give it and the powervalve butterfly a good clean with carb cleaner/brake cleaner. great video by the way.
the simplicity of a two stroke is a refreshing thing to work on as a mechanic
So much satisfaction watching this
this is the best instructional video iv seen thus far
Chris Clarke Thank you! :)
+jangho9 I agree 2stroke engine porn for sure!
+Chris Clarke maybe add torque overlays next time you edit, but GREAT video.
I agree. Step by step. All you have to do is rewind the video if you forget a step. Awesome.
Great video the only thing that would have made it better is instead of musichave someone giving audible instructions as they're doing it
At 7:29 you are missing a washer/bushing where your power valve actuator arm attaches. Also put a rag below to block the pin from falling into the right side cover.
Nice job on the production of the video.
I'm a very rough critic i would say and your video is flawless. Everything is clearly told what to do , the music and the camera angles just makes me happy watching this video! Thank you very much, I have a cr125 2004 frame, 2001 engine. Your video will help me a lot since my engine blew up and am going to rebuild it soon.
I was waiting for the way he installed the piston with the rings on into the cylinder. .he skipped the most critical part ...
Why I love 2 strokes! So easy to work on!!
my last rebuild on my 2001 honda cr125 was a pro x piston too, lol. nostalgia. i am currently a year or two into a very slow going project of completely rebuilding my bike. only initiated due to 3rd gear popping in and out. hopefully i will be finished in another month or two. i cannot wait to ride again. i need to feel alive. its been too long. work, sleep, work, sleep. i cannot fucking take modern life much longer without a bit of escape. 2 stroke heaven provides said escape. so damn good.
probably the best rebuild video ive seen on youtube, very nice! faved
Great video, i did a full rebuild on my 97 CR 125 a couple months back, Good job at not ruining those gaskets.
Thanks for helping everyone who is a do it your selfer. I bet this video has saved a lot of people a lot of money.
This video really helped me when doing a top end rebuild on my cr 125... many thanks and keep up with the great vids!
there's a little bushing that should take the slack out of your governor to power valves linkage where the little pin is
I noticed that too
you all probably dont care but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Leon Taylor Instablaster :)
@Demetrius Ronald Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
It's my first time working on a cr125 and I was looking for a video to get some advice. I never thought that I would find such a well made and invormative one! Thank you very much!
Now lets go get some oil on my hands ;-)

Good job! Best rebuild video I've seen.(:
I don't know why, but this video was extremely satisfying and mesmerizing to watch, and very educational! Thank you!! I'm going to go buy a CR125 for my daughter with a blown head gasket, and rebuild it! Better to do a teardown anyways buying a used bike, you never know how the previous owner treated the poor thing!
Thanks Devan! im glad you liked the video. I hope to start to make new videos soon. If i was you i would change the top end on a used bike that i dint know anything about. Its the best to be on the safe side.
This is your lucky day! The bike in the video is an 2002 Cr 125 :)
Im glad the movie helped you.
Frez Productions perfect my same year and model

I watched this because i am having an issue putting the head over the piston because of the piston ring being a pain
But you didn’t include it😂

Awesome video man, Ive always wanted to make a video like this.
Nice vid, gotta love two stroke ease to work on music was good to
+shaun oreilly Thanks Bro, glad you liked it :)
Great video my friend!!
My CR 125 it needs new piston because it got stuck.
I believe that i can change it myself
It's good to dissasemble the power valves because when you're starting new with a fresh rebuild, there good to clean because over time they build up alot of carbon and don't want to work properly which can have a huge impact on power and throttle response. That is where I went wrong years ago. I rebuilt my 02 kx125, but I never cleaned the power valves and it definitely didn't have the power it should've for a fresh rebuild because that really does have a huge impact on several different things.
Nice vid 👌
Love it :D
Always install the circlips with the gap facing either straight up or straight down. The force of 1000+ RPM will pop that thing out very easily. Otherwise, great video
Over time and with a lot of practise with rebuilds you get to know the feel of a tourqe spec, but its still wise to check your manual.
good work :)
This is a great video well made, nice job !!! Just hope it's the same procedure on my 1998 cr125r
Missed a few very important steps! Never checked for proper ring gap, never measured the cylinder for excessive wear, never honed the cylinder to all the new ring to seat properly! Sure it runs but it could have been better just my opinion!
Thank you so much Aleksas53! I really apprecate your positive comment :)
Well made video sir
+Joshua Marquis Thank you Joshua!
Sweet! Let's ride!

Ok and thank you very mutch ;) and very nice vid btw :D
Nice vid bro
Thanks Sean :)
Honda is best! ;)
Hi, @ min 7:24 you forgot to put on the flanged collar that rides on the tie rod linkage that connects to the exhaust valve. You just secured it with the cotter pin is all. I would fix that.
Vinny Garner was thinking same thing that hes missing that collar, but then again the bike might be missing so hes working with what hes got
Was gona say the same
thanks very good help
I beleive it's time for a fresh rebuild man! to me it sounds like there isn't much compression. Sometimes a bike will just barely idle with low compression, and once you try to give it some throttle it just loses all compression and trys to die on ya. I'm suprised it even starts.
Professional..I had just picked up a 1982 Cr 125r.I have to say it's in very nice original condition.I am going to replace the piston, ring and top gaskets.Because of it's age and knowing it has tempered through it's riding hours I was told to put a very thin coat of good quality gasket permatex on them to ensure a good all around seal in case there may be any imperfection on the actual surface.I am not going to have it resurfaced on the head but clean it well and assemble..Any comment?
I'm looking into buying a dirt bike, and was really unsure about 2 stroke or 4 stroke. After seeing how easy it is to replace the piston, I'm pretty much sold on a 2 stroke now.
awsome thanx!!
