I wish the DKCR and DKC:TF game-overs were more...visually interesting, I suppose? The first three games had rendered scenes showing how the Kongs were, but in the newer games the background is black, and only in DKC:TF is something bad actually happening to the Kongs.

Except for the Japanese version of DKL 3, I found that on the internet (same video from the old version). In the old version they were found on the internet but I didn't like the quality of them because the guy filmed his Game Boy and the video titles he made faded into the videos and couldn't get rid of all of it.

this might be an unpopular opinion, but the GBA game over for DKC 1 is actually scarier than the SNES version for some reason...? having the jungle background + that silhouette outro thing + still keeping the music/image from the SNES makes the atmosphere all weird and disjointed. though that might just be me since i find “bizarre” things a lot scarier than purposefully “intense” things.
