      I found out if you do this with the paper left on, you can pull it off after and you are left with a rubberized piece of paper you can wrap around cylindrical shapes. Wizard tower bricks!

    So simple! Slapping on any extras can also adjust it to any theme! Little "metal" bits turns it modern like rebar sticking out, or even adding fake plants up the sides makes it look like forgotten ruins in a jungle or woods. Such an easy idea with so many uses

    3 layers of foamcore is a neat idea. Normally I’d reach for a single sheet of insulating foam, but I found some old foamcore in the garage covered in dust and spider poop that can’t be used for much else, so this is a timely video.

    LOVE this build. It's so simple. I don't build much terrain because of the time investment and seemingly not having the right tools to get a good time investment/results ratio, but this is SO doable with what I have. Thanks dude.
    For anybody thinking about the sponsor: Into the AM shirts are dope. I'm 6'6", 220 lbs, athletic build, I wear their large size. They're super comfortable and have great artwork. They shrunk somewhat lengthwise to be on the shorter side for me, but not too short. They also make your arms and shoulders look hella good if you lift at all. Highly recommend, worth every penny.

    • @willmfrank
      @willmfrank Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yes! You certainly can. If, however, it becomes too big to support itself, you may have to brace it with a wooden frame; Use a variety pack of square wooden dowels (available from the craft aisle at Dollarama or whatever your local equivalent is) rather than balsa -- the dowels are stronger and more durable, and the variety pack has several different sizes that will serve different purposes.

  • @connorjensen9699
    @connorjensen9699 Před 10 měsíci

    Absolutely top notch video as always! Wanted to add one little tip - if you want/need bases to show the exact area of the terrain for wargaming (common for 40k), do NOT use foamcore. Its fantastic for stuff like these walls in the video, but especially in a club context foamcore used as a base will fall apart, get dented, fray, and look terrible really fast and its very likely to warp.
    Use Expanded PVC foam sheets. You can order these online, or buy from sign shops or if you are lucky enough to have a plastic supplier use that. Sometimes sign shops have them for cheap or free in a scrap bin in sizes too small for signs but great for hobby. The material is stiff and durable, but not too hard to cut at roughly the same thickness of foamcore. It is also extremely warp resistant. Its more expensive than foamcore, sure, but so so worth it. The material also opens up a lot of useful functionality - its got a sturdy enough integrity that you can pin into it or bevel the edges for example. Its basically a strictly better version of MDF or particle board type materials when used in this context. Its also pretty much exactly the right weight - just heavy enough to be substantial, but lighter than most wood based materials and a lot lighter than stuff like acrylic or plexi where the weight can actually be quite problematic.

    I also liked that you used scrap foam board from painting projects.
