- In this video we show how we are feeding our finisher lambs and also talk about our last lambing over the last few weeks. We have had various age groups lambing and its interesting to see how they all perform differently.

Thanks for the update!
Wow, miss you guys. So many people are making so much money.
Yoir narration was just fine. You have the right ideas. B
Yea, thanks, good to know. We haven't closed the door on continuing with the channel but right now we are holding off...thanks so much for your support and encouraging words though.
I like this work very much
Tenkh you!
Feeding our livestock has become a real issue! I do not feed corn to my goats, but I do feed alfalfa pellets with a little of other things depending on what's going on with them. The pellets have gone up by 25% in just the last year! Hay was scary last year, but I managed to get a sweet deal on hay from my neighbor so it wasn't as bad as I had feared.
Yes, feed prices are very high unfortunately here too.
Love those painted lambs
Yes, they are pretty variable in coloring some tImes.
On your feed you are mixing for those lambs , how many lbs. of corn to soy meal ?
Cant say exactly. I know it ends up being a 14 percent protein ration. Probably about 4 to 1
Could you please explain the cleaning process of living space and them?
Do you mean, how do i clean out the barn?
Great videos thanks for posting. We just purchased 25 Rideau/ Dorset ewe lambs and will be needing a ram come December would you have a Ram lamb for sale?
Yes, we have about 15 available right now.
Great can you send details on time, location thanks Graham
@@croftplumbing4848 pls email me at valleyridge.frm@gmail.com and i can send you all the details.
Thanks
How do you make sure the stronger lambs in the milk machine group don’t keep the smaller, weaker lambs from getting milk?
The milk is available 24 7 so they will have opportunity when the bigger ones aren't drinking. However, I do divide into two pens one for younger and one for older if their is a large age difference between them.
Two smaller pins. Or just separation rail in pen!
I missed what your cross was in your sheep - Rideau and ??
No cross, just pure rideau
Hello, may I ask what type of breed of ewes do you have?
These are purebred Rideau Arcott
@@valleyridgefarms thank you sir

More videos!
Are the gable barns full of sheep as well?
No, they have pigs in them.
Hi,
1.Where is you farm?
2.What do you put on the floor for your sheep?
We are in Ontario Canada. The floors are just dirt bedded with straw.
@@valleyridgefarms I like your farm and what you do
Do you have like a training model...like farm building plan...how you make your own feeds for the shop...like a training manual?
**sheep*
No, i don't specifically have a training manual. I just show how i do things on my farm. It's often different for everyone depending on where you live...what breed of sheep, etc
I miss your videos. Why have u stopped? I hope you and your family is well
All is well! We just took a break and then found that we didn't miss dealing with the negative feedback 😔. It only added stress to my life and didn't need that. Having said that we have had a bunch of people asking for them...we appreciate your support...but not sure that we are going to keep the channel going or not ...
I missed them also. You have a great farm, and I enjoy the content as a fellow Niagara resident.
hello...i'm from Indonesia...the lamb food consists of what kind of ingredients, uncle?? 🙏🙏
Mostly corn and some soybean meal.
It seems that further south hair sheep are more popular, whereas up north you seem to prefer the wooled sheep. I wonder why that is?
I don't know why the general trend, but for us it's about which breed is most productive/profitable for our market and production purposes. The Rideau arcott were developed in Ontario for how we raise sheep and the way they are managed here. Under good management they can produce more than 3 lambs per ewe per year.
مميز عمل رائع حبذا لو كانت مترجمة للعربية شكرااااااا
I never realized you guys were in Ontario! I do the sheep farming in Ontario too haha yay canada!!
Yes we are in Ontario, in Niagara. Where are you from?
@@valleyridgefarms nice!! I’m just over by Simcoe
What kind of rams are those
Rideau arcott
when do you put them on the bulk feeder? is there a process before you introduce the bulk feeder to prevent bloat?
They have access to feed already at 2 weeks old, then when we wean them at 60 days they go on full feed. No bloat issues because they have already been eating it before weaning.
@@valleyridgefarms kind of like a creek feeder?
Any kind of feeder that the lambs can access but not the ewes.
What breed are your sheep
These are Rideau arcott
Which breed you have
Rideau arcott, it's mostly a Canadian breed.
Hello sir :How I can get a 500 grams of meet per day ?...what I should feed my sheep's.
Mostly grain like corn and a protein supplement with minerals.
@@valleyridgefarms In fact, I've already achieved 300g and I'm aiming for 500, I think that would be a revolution for me... Thank you very much sir.🌹🤝
What shoud be given for fattening of sheep
Grain of some sort usually helps boost the nutrition
Red corn is good
Supar
Where are you. Give the camera to the boys. They can handle the camera and content just fine, maybe even better. I have three kids and love their videos and narrative. You don’t have time…
Lol, true, time is a factor. The boys aren't around very much, one working towards electrical apprentice, others still in school or working off farm. Thanks for your feedback.
