Mia nonna faceva gli gnocchi. Gnocchi mi ricorda sempre mia nonna. I miei ricordi dei gnocchi riguardano l'intera famiglia: nonni, zii, cugini riuniti attorno a un tavolino nella cucina piccola di mia nonna. Tutto è stato preparato con amore. Vorrei poter tornare indietro. Quando ero giovane non apprezzavo quanto fosse speciale.
I piatti buonissimi della mamma.😋 Tutto un mondo di profumi, di sapori, di sorrisi, di convivialita ; la felicità insomma.

Buongiorno a tutti. Questo episodio era molto interesante. I italiani hanno molti ricordi di cibo de loro infazia... infanzie...? Per me... la mia mamma era un "super" buona cuoca, e sempre ha fatto pasta al ragu, "pollo cacciatore", "pot roast" (non lo so le parole italiano per questo piatto), e anche una cosa speciale: a "cheese log" - una tronca di formaggio. Era un misto di formaggi, spezie, mescolari, pepperoncini, e altre ingredienti segreti. Mangiate con pane o "gourmet crackers." Mi ricordo l'odore che pieno la casa quando lei ha cucinate, e la famiglia a notte al tavalo per cibo e conversazione.
Mi ricorda anche il riso e latte con succero e cannella. 😋
My mom used to make that! Sometimes she put raisins in it. Reminds me of horchata. She never said where she got it from. lol
The donna in the video said rice and milk with nothing else added! I was thinking that would taste horrible! It needs sugar or honey or something sweet to make it edible.

I guess that's the way the Italians eat it as well. In German we also just say "Milchreis" (rice with milk) and everyone knows it's sweet. @@canchero724
I’m American, so the memories I have of food are of my mom making American dishes (which she made well!) goulash, apple pie, chocolate chip cookies/snickerdoodles/ sugar cookies, chocolate pudding, macaroni salad ( with peas and cheddar cheese I remember), hamburgers, baked chicken, spaghetti (the Americanized version of course ! lol) the list goes on. We didn’t have a very good relationship, but she took care of me and my brother making sure we were fed and some of the only good memories I had from childhood are related to her cooking.
I'm sorry, but who told you that these dishes are American? For instance,goulash is a Hungarian dish. I'm not sure that even other dishes are from the USA.
