For clarification, Mobius visited Kalpas and wanted to test her immortality. Kalpas refused, so Mobius said something extremely upsetting to him. That's what he means by he didn't want to be reminded of it. Evidently, he took action and killed Mobius, but since she was technically immortal, she came back younger. Mobius provoked Kalpas into unwillingly helping her test it. Not sure what she could have said to him though. Could be related to Sakura, could be related to the village he first fell to.

Also, I don't think Mobius and Kalpas have ever met each other prior to becoming Flame Chasers, as Mobius was already a FC long before Kalpas. Not sure about the quote, I don't know where it's from, so I kinda would appreciate a source.
