Weird or scary
I love it when South Park tells us what in the hell is actually going on. It's quite an eye opener.
Wow. You analyse man. We live in a society man
We always knew how much paper in general took it’s not hidden it’s really not enough people cared, that was something I was taught in elementary school while reading scholastic, we lose millions of trees at an insane rate, the US is not the only place we cut for wood (the US actively drained most of the mahogany from the Philippines there’s currently none or very hard to find) not for just toilet paper, but all paper, the “save the turtle” straws, and dozens of building material we consume daily, companies have successfully made trade deals and contracts based on to own capita of land where they can constantly produce and use resource at the same time, this is why hemp was first illegalized as it was a constant and safe method of paper production and multiple other material that in early America would’ve put the paper mills and other producers owned by the government out of business, you’ll never see a public owned paper mill, just like you’ll never see a public owned water mill or major resource company, just different factions of areas partially owned and funded by the government, I do like when South Park touches a real life subject but it’s sad a lot of people find out by a cartoon
This episode was a nothing burger that just stopped half way and just said “we’re not doing this anymore” like it all meant nothing
I actually hate it. They used to do the same thing without just having two random characters literally just talk about the topic like you're watching a documentary. Really takes you out of the fun of the show and realize you're just being talked to
I had always heard that the reason bidets weren't big here was that the only time an American would have regularly seen one was when American soldiers went to French brothels.
“Bro I got fucking shot.” I’d say the exact same thing if I was in Randy’s situation
This episode was weird for me. Because I joked around about this exact conspiracy while getting a DUI years back. Then my life really did get very weird. Haven't gotten the warning shot yet tho.

Toilet paper, toilet paper, toilet paper and toilet paper. Hey hey now, don’t go sticking this gum around on things
This episode was actually fascinating, lol. I love shows like "How it's Made" so learning all about toilet paper was cool, but once they called out Proctor & Gamble, the apology at the end was hilarious bc P&G is a HUGE advertiser-they make Dawn, Crest, Cascade, Suave, Tide, Aussie, Pampers, Bounty, and Charmin!🙃😭
Not to mention that Dawn, known as Fairy in the UK, is the most effective and gentle soap for cleaning wild animals caught in oil spills.
@@ShenDoodles Some of the commercials they shot of them cleaning baby ducks and releasing them were suspected of being staged. I'm only saying "suspected" because I forgot if the claim was proven.
@@ShenDoodles
But P&G, ironically, tests their products on animals. I try to avoid them whenever I can and go with store brands or Revlon and elf for hair and makeup vs Clairol and CoverGirl. In this century, there is no need for cruelty.🤷♀️

I've had a Japanese toilet seat for years. When people were panicking over toilet paper shortages, I just laughed.
I didn't laugh, but I got a cheap $20 addon. Still use the TP, but what used to last a week now lasts a month!
Ew you don't use TP?
@@KaoticReach1999 it literally cleans you more that TP ever would. seriously. what jimmy says is true you use TP there will always be a little bit left on your butt no matter how much you wipe.
I conveniently have a shower next to my toilet so it was never a concern
Its ok.. now they're going after the water and soon you won't be able to use that extra splash on your bum either
If you close your eyes and Jimmy doesn't stutter, he sounds like Cartman.
Yeah. Trey Parker’s “kid voice” is pretty recognizable lol

I got myself a Bidet Attachment for my Toilet probably a bit over 2 years now, and man it is such a life changer. Even many of my family members have made the change to a Bidet. Really there is no going back.
I got one when they were $25 many years ago. I have since upgraded to the fancier $40 one. I could not do (or is that doo) without it. If I had hot water and a power outlet in the wash closet, I would certainly get one of the fancy $200 models.
Yeah, I splurged and got one that was like $200, but it is so worth it. Nice warm water, heated seat, and warm air dryer. I don’t even need to use any TP for drying purposes. Total game changer.
I'm very happy to see Americans getting used to cleaning their butt. Hopefully in the future more will switch to it and will be common.
@@Hellmiauz truth is even when I was a kid I always wanted to get a bidet when I first heard about them (always hated the toilet paper), but back then I thought Bidets were a separate device that you needed to be installed in your bathroom at the start of construction. It was only like a few years ago when I discovered that bidet attachments for standard toilets are a thing and hearing that I instantly bought one.
It is a life changer. But I've not been able to get a single person other than my kids to try it. Americans are way too obstinate.
The way Butters called Stan "Ri¢hie Ri¢h" made me laugh
Stan was always the one to tell Butters to shut up so it’s alright 😂
The funny thing is, when toilet paper was first introduced a lot of people thought it was too nice to use to wipe with. Some people would even use it for arts and crafts. They largely used free catalogs and such they were done with that came in the mail.
It's nice to have something to read.
"No, officer. I wasn't TP-ing his house. I was just showing him my appreciation for 1850s artists."

Big Toilet Paper has us all.
Not me. I switched to a bidet when the Pandemic hit and have never looked back. I just keep the paper stuff around for guests.

You know, out of all the episodes, this one seems to be a true message.
it's always the shit related episode that has something to teach, and it's good shit too these episodes always teaches the important things
@@wilsonweiseng6485 In other words: Shit's got wits.
That's not true. South Park gives lots of good messages. The first episode's message is that having a sibling is special and you shouldn't bully your sibling.
Clearly you ignored the true message of Manbearpig
Well, I agree this episode has a good message. I disagree that there’s no other good messages in South Park. Nearly all the episodes either have a message or point to them!
Saw this full episode, it's genius! Now let's talk about TP big cousin: "flushable" wipes. Hint: they are NOT flushable.
I've been using them for years now. Never had any type of clogging issues, just use one per flush. TP to get the majority, then one wet wipe. You'd have a problem if you had a septic tank. That's really the only contraindication.
@@jeffs6090 Talk to anyone who works in wastewater systems and they'd tell you it's a growing problem. The wet wipes don't disintegrate and causes clogging of machines (pumps/motors).
@@jeffs6090 they will go down your toilet but their screw up the pipes. It’s a maintenance disaster for our sewers
_’cousin’_ is an understatement. “Flushable” wipes are manufactured by *Procter & Gamble* and *Kimberly-Clark*
They aren’t even hiding it. They even go as far to put the same branding on their wipes as they do for their toilet paper.
@@jeffs6090Same. The only time I’ve had my toilet clog was from toilet paper. Oh, and a pair of clippers falling down the drain
This episode was a wonderful public service announcement.

@@christopherfreitas-leonard7099 there are bidet hoses for very little money on the market.
That's the funny thing. It wasn't even en episode with a twist or anything really funny. It was just an advertisement for Japanese toilets and how toilet paper is bad. Sure, I agree but was that really the purpose of this episode? Honestly: am I missing something?
@@christopherfreitas-leonard7099 you can get a sprayer that attaches to the water supply going into the toilet. I only paid 6 bucks for mine 13 years ago. They go for around 15 or 20 bucks now but worth it. You feel a lot better actually washing your bits and drying with a wash cloth than just using toilet paper or Wipes. Once you switch you'll never go back.

Nah, because all the kids are doing it. Butters usually gets validation when he joins in on a rumor.
Stan can keep hus chill evan if people make fun of him, and it is sad

All this makes me REALLY want to get a Japanese high-tech toilet now. Only problem is I live in an apartment lol
Get a bidet hand shower. Easy to install and costs about $20.
You don't need to buy an entire toilet, and certainly not one shipped all the way from Japan. You can buy just the electronic component starting at $200.
Ebay has portable bottles for like $10. They even come from a US shipper.
Thanks everyone! I'll look into it!
Omigo is one of the best. It's really good and affordable
Glad to see Richie Rich is getting a shoutout. It's severely underrated.
Every now and then South Park gives straight-up useful and true information. It's one of those things that some countries, including the USA, still haven't got right and seem stubborn as hell about re-thinking their ways. I am American and grew up with the toilet paper thing, but since I moved overseas have seen several alternative ways of cleaning up after your business. Now I've lived in Thailand for 19 years and in that time almost never used TP. Why would you when there is a basic thing we call the Butt Gun attached to most toilets. Not only does it clean your sphincter much better than paper, it helps you poop more thoroughly once you get your technique down. Sure some people, especially women, do a quick dry off with tissue paper, but the primary cleaning is with sprayed or splashed water. Get with the wisdom America! - install a butt gun or bidet or go high-tech with a Japan-style unit and you will always be glad. Smearing your ass with paper is disgusting and wastes a huge number of trees. Just think how many people could have avoided the whole TP hoarding frenzy during covid lockdowns.
Butt guns and bidets just spray the germs everywhere.
One of the arguments for bidets is to ask someone if they got crap on their hands, would they clean it off with tissue paper, or would they use water.
The TP run was one of the main reasons I installed a bidet in my house. So glad I did, it has been life changing.
I used to have issues with hemorrhoids and haven’t had to deal with that since then. Also much less worry about swamp ass in the summer, greatly reduced TP usage, and always feeling extra clean after doing your business.
Now I feel like an animal anytime I’m forced to go anywhere but home. Every house should consider switching to a bidet. It literally changed my life for the better.
Also get a potty squatty. Once you start using it you cant go back.

It was nothing but lecturing the viewers
Using a couple hundred rolls of toilet paper every year sounds like a waste of money
@@kantoking1518 They have done that MANY times. Including but not limited to the whole man bear pig thing
@@zapbranigan5099 I guess you could perceive it that way. But really they're just jokingly undermining a strange business model that makes little sense. A bidet attachment for 50$ off Amazon is more efficient, cost effective and hygienic than buying a lifetimes supply of toilet paper. That's not a lecture. That's just a fact.

You don’t need a house. I got a BioBidet when I was living in an apartment, and brought it with me (after reinstalling the old toilet seat/lid back on the apartment). It’s just 2 bolts for the seat, and one extra hose to the water source.
A hell of a lot cheaper than a full on Japanese toilet, with all of the same bells and whistles. Heated seat, water, and air dryer.

Funny thing is I actually have one of the American-made versions of the Japanese toilets (Actually ours is a french-canadian version). And I actually think they are very effective. Especially when you consider that they are a cost saver. I still keep toilet paper on standby because you never know if there's a malfunction with it. I see the point Southpark was trying to make about it that Randy should not have bragged about it at all. Yet at the same time, these things are handy to have around. Especially when Covid first became a big issue 3 years ago, and there was hardly any toilet paper in the United States at all. Technology can be a good thing to have as long as it works.
