  • TikTok is known for many things - lip-sync videos, viral challenges, confounding old people - but one surprising feature of the social networking service is how it has given its users an inside look at what's really going on in the kitchens of fast food restaurants. Employees have risked their jobs to give their followers the inside scoop on how the sausage is made, so to speak, and the results have been very entertaining. Want to know what's really going on with McDonald's ice cream machines, for example? There's a TikTok for that. Now, a McDonald's employee has exposed a surprising drive-thru fact. Here's what they revealed.

I’ve been working at McDonald’s off and on (mostly on) for 10 years now. I started when I was 17, I’m 27 now and I’ve been a manager for years. If your McDonald’s only has a single lane for the drive thru, no pictures will be taken.
The purpose of the picture is so we can know which order goes with which car before we take your money. It is almost impossible to see the drivers face in the picture. It is mainly a picture of the car and is taken far away. Nobody’s gonna see what you’re doing

We have been doing that for our entire marriage of 30 years. Does not look like we will be having that tradition anymore. After reading all these posts I have come to the conclusion that they are all mine. I've experienced almost everything I've read here. The first time you go through they're nice and you get your meal. If you go through on a regular basis they get to know you and they say hi and how's it going and all of those good little things. I have a diesel truck but I turn it off when I'm at the microphone. Being one of those customers that go through almost every morning I've become familiar to the people working there. So why is it every once in awhile I get somebody else's meal. And every once in awhile the meal I've ordered and actually got is hardly fit to eat. That meal consists of two sausage McMuffins and a large black coffee. How hard is that? All after several times of not getting what I wanted properly I swapped from the closest McDonald's to the next one over. Well that lasted for a while also. Same thing. Familiarity and then poor product. I just found out that I can make a better sausage McMuffin than they produce. It cost me about a buck 40 in materials. The promo I use cost me $4.29 for the whole meal. the only thing I miss is the coffee. When I'm at the microphone giving my order I can see two cameras focused on me. I wonder if they use them for movie blooper things. It doesn't bother me. everywhere you go yout on somebody's camera
