I'd imagine that if the 04/05 season had been played, the Leafs would've somehow won the Cup. Because that's the cruelest possibility after all.
Not a chance them along with the Rangers at this point were the washed up all stars retirement home!

Funny how this came up when I was watching the previous video. The lockout was hard on everyone.
In this scenario, the Rangers get the 1st overall pick, and select Sidney Crosby! Hmm, I like it!
I wish that happened. Rangers might’ve made a dynasty, as they were so close to winning 2014 and 2015 in reality, and the penguins won in 2016 so we might’ve made a 3-peat.
As a Ranger fan, I don’t see it. I think the Pens still draft him.
Awesome idea for a video! As a Wings fan, I really think that was a lost season for Yzerman playing with Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Kronwall and Lidstrom. That sort of on ice tutoring was essential for the dynasty, and they lost a full season there.
Not to mention Brendan Shanahan. He was such a beast on the ice with Yzerman and Lidstrom
I think given the premise of the video type, you should focus more around the league as opposed to the team you select as that way we can see how everything progresses throughout in terms of best players throughout the season and not just the leaders of the team you selected. Like I understand you couldn't see the full stats in the NHL as a whole here but I would have wanted to see a quick glimpse of every team in that case rather than just one team's stats.
I started following hockey late in the 2004 season because of NHL 04 and when 05 came out I was almost unaware of the lockout that was going on (I was like 9?) I really enjoyed hockey and wanted it to come back again then started following alot of the Rangers the following season
So fitting for the Avs to win virtually and IRL.

I think the Lightning would’ve repeated as champions because that was a dynasty in the making.
This is a nightmare "what-if" scenario for ottawa fans, prior to the cap, that team was loaded. Theres a very good chance they won it all in that year.
I picked up NHL 05 at a goodwill for $5 randomly, modded my PS2 to run on newer perihperals. and when I got in I noticed that the roster was almost the same as the one they terrorized the league with the next two years, the only notable difference is 04-05 was the season the Heatley/Hossa trade happened. In game they are both like 94 overall.

What year game was it when u win lord Stanley and after the celebration there would be a individual action still shots of every player on ur team displaying the regular season and playoff stats of that player....that was an awesome concept they had and unfortunately il only seen it once and it was in that game....even if u played 1 regular season game they would of had his action still shot with his stats beneath.....with soft music also in the background‼

I thought it was tremendous....I remember all the festivities after the final buzzer....it was a legit 20 minutes between all the celebration with passing lord Stanley around to all the players raising it then the extension of the handshake line with all the zooming in then the photo with the whole team gathered around lord Stanley ( I had 3 goalies on my roster so all 3 ended in the final photo) and then all the individual stats for each player in the action still shot....I was devastated the following years game when all that extra stuff was all taken out of the game....from 20 minutes to 3 minute quick celebration with lord Stanley....EA dropped the puck by removing all of it in the games after 04
If the 2004-2005 happened I really feel that the Devils would've won their first presidents trophy, I think the Lightning would've traded places in the standings with the Thrashers. Had the season happened i think the Devils would've beaten the Canucks in the Cup final. The All-Star was intended to take place in Atlanta but that was postponed to 2008, so who knows where the 2008 All-Star game would've happened at?.

Prior to the realignment, teams that were leading each of the three divisions would be in the top 3 automatically.
Ovechkin would be at 830 rn
900 possibly. Especially, if the 2012 lockout didn’t shorten that season. He scored 32 goals and finished with 56 points in a 48 game season. Just imagine how many he would have scored if it was a full schedule.
@@willflint5014 I've counted 155 games missed due to lockouts or pandemic. Multiplied by his gpg he'd have an extra 95 goals on top of his current 780. Which would put him at 875. Looks like you were a bit closer than me. Either way the record would be shattered and we'd be asking if he could potentially hit 1,000. Which is nuts.

You're wrong about NHL having the first lockout of the four major sports. MLB had a lockout in 1994.

The NHL had it's first lockout in 1991, the MLB had it's first lockout in August 1994.
