Thanks Glenn this is my 1st set of carbides I’ve bought on your recommendation and I have to admit I love them. Even I managed to turn some things without having to sand after but now I’m picking up how to use yours better with these videos, looking forward to the full set of them.

Hi Thanks so much got my set today. This is the perfect start for me...off tomorrow to pick up some pine first thing.

Hi Glenn, I hope that you and Liza are well. I am getting the hang of the 3 chisel set. I am still a little frightened of the detail tool! I also find that when I sand on the lathe, I still get circular marks and have to hand sand with the grain to remove them... any tips? Matthew
Are you using a rotary sander at all, powered or hand? Here is a link of a video on how to make a handsander czcams.com/video/f92XatH3TRI/video.html . If not use a circular motion when hand sanding, even on spindles. Sometimes you do need to go with the grain. Once you have become more experience with the carbides and your cuts become cleaner, this will be a thing of the past. Happy turning.

Hi Guys - please can you show us how to turn beads on the outside of a spindle/small honey pot etc. using only carbides. Thanks for my AU cutters - i'm half way thru making my holder now.
Hi Gavin. We are doing a series of videos starting from small (scrap wood pieces) to large items, from easier to the more advanced stuff. Beading is on the agenda, just a bit more advanced stage. Keep watching. It is all about carbides in the series.

@@GavinConwayWoodworkBBQ Glenn loves doing beads. He has done them on several things like pens (videos already uploaded) using carbides. He mostly uses his Spindle Gouge for beading but it's all about carbides at the moment, just watch this space.
Glen, I hear a lot of people saying that you have to move from the hips when turning. I have to turn from a wheelchair (I have a deformity of the spine). Have you got any tips?
