I like to think the movie is going to be 3 and a half hours long and the first hour of it is going to just be MatPat, visibly tired and defeated, sitting down on his couch and explaining the entire fnaf timeline to everyone in the audience one last time before it starts.
"alright, people, let's do this one last time. his name is william afton..."
Then the movie debunks his timeline that he just gave, the last 30 mins is matpat again just hands on his face in depression

The reason why the chat knew the animatronic via toes is because there have been several points in the past where it was used as “definitive” evidence to prove theories, not to mention a current loose end being related to it through some unknown footprints.

JESUS CHRIST. Please never mention that again, I just aged 20 years realising that's the same actor.
The scene with Golden Freddy reminds me of the novels; in the first one (which was a standalone initially, even if it eventually got sequels shoehorned in, much like nearly every game in the series) the animatronics are their usual murderous selves, but old Goldie knows better and can stop the others somehow. He's depicted in that as.. hard to say if he's just one of them or if he's a leader of some sort. In the games he's more of a rogue than anything and does the whole 'controlling UCN' thing which is its own can of worms, since the spirit/spirits in that character in the games - widely accepted to be Cassidy and that crying kid from the fourth game who used to be the Puppet - are different to the spirit in that suit in the book, which is a _different_ Michael to go with the two we've already got.
No one ever said Scott was a pro at coming up with names. The franchise itself doesn't have the best of them.
Bonnie is actually a salt flat. Bonneville, fittingly enough in Utah, where FNaF takes place. Or at least that's the running joke, right along with him teleporting. The movie will not be complete without at least one distinct scene where he teleports with no explaination given, just like the books and just like the original games.
I hope that scene in the trailer where he's in the closet is actually just him having suddenly appeared behind the guy that would be wild haha

I've always thought it's interesting they named a high school Bonneville high, with it being pretty far with the salt flats. Cool area, though. Washington Terrace has lot of houses that are built onto the man-made hill that surround the area before it drops off into Riverdale, with a nice forest that had a gay old guy that propositioned my father's uncle or brother; and he also gave out drugs to the teens and young adults in the area, if I remember correctly. That forest is pretty dang cool.
I double-checked the OP's comment and realized I look insane bringing up the high school.
I read Bonneville, and I'm so used to seeing it in conjunction with the high school and the lake that I forgot the salt flats existed.
Also, that's why the high school is called Bonneville, because of the lake. Just a 2 AM comment for you, I guess.
Bonnie doesn't adhere to physics. He doese what he wants when he wants. Fuck, if he wants to somehow come through the 4th wall and start beating up kids all if think is "ahh, what a classic Bonnie thing to do"
Bonnie also floats about an inch off of the ground in the original FNAF 1 showtime poster, and Scott acknowledged both as canon.
I like to think that FNAF 1 Bonnie is an unfathomably powerful reality manipulator, but this is completely unrelated to him being possessed.
The Freddy "stained glass" is supposed to be a reference to those classic stain glass restaurant booth in-betweens you used to see.
You know how at Red Lobster, they still have those? Yeah, I believe those became popular around the 70s, and stuck around until like the early 2000s for a LOT of places.
Our local Chuck-E-Cheese still had them when I was younger!

I think they're missing out on the opportunity to make Freddy be uniquely imposing relative to the other animatronics. He should be like in the games where he doesn't appear until night 3 and he has those scary ass white socket eyes and he's only in the dark. Sad that in a movie called "Five Nights at Freddy's", everyone's talking about Springtrap or Golden Freddy.

Also, from a practical standpoint, its clearly a very dark (as in lighting) movie. Its already going to be a bit harder to see what’s going on. Giving the animatronics colored eyes to show possession has the same effect as when older cartoons would give their characters gloves: gives the audience a reference point so they can tell what’s happening.

I loved watching this on stream and trying to decipher the Employee of the Moth puzzle as well because I have no idea what Fuhnaff's face looks like.

The exposition does feel very forced. Instead of watching the main character figure things out for himself, everything is conveniently explained to him.
I think it’s an acknowledgment of the fact that everyone knows the story of the FNAF and they aren’t going to bother beating around the bush with it. Besides, from an in-universe perspective, it makes sense that Freddy’s would essentially become the site of an urban myth after shutting down. It’s an abandoned restaurant where a bunch of kids died and nobody ever found their bodies, of COURSE people would start rumors that it’s haunted.
And like the Phone Guy of legend before her, Vannessa’s little exposition isn’t fully accurate. She claims the animatronics are after Abby, but details in the trailer and pre-established lore would suggest otherwise. The haunted animatronics traditionally only go after those they perceive as adults, especially security guards. So there’s still room for Mike to investigate and learn more, they’re just putting all the chips down early instead of dancing around the “ghostly” elements for the first third of the movie.
It's also quite possible for the exposition to happen after Michael's already figured some stuff out for himself, or for it to be told to him as a sort of ghost story and not the cop actually saying that animatronics are haunted. The scene could also end up being different, or at least have different dialogue, and they're using heavier exposition for the trailer. It's not uncommon for trailers to use scenes or dialogue that are cut or changed in the full film.
I don't expect this movie to be any better than good, but I also don't expect it to be worse than mediocre
I really hoipe this movie is like Moonfall, in the fact that its so bad it becomes one of the best movies of all time.

The FNAF 1 animatronics were pretty basic 3D models that were serviceable for a low resolution game with still images and lots of static, but when you make them real and have them move around they start to look pretty goofy. I'd recommend Battington's VHS tapes for more realistic takes on the animatronics.

"Golden freddy" is meant to be the original fredbear suit in the same way that spingtrap is the original spring bonnie suit. so it stands to assume that somewhere in the fnaf universe there is a physical suit, but the times we see it in the games are all supernatural occurrences
Spiff watch Willy’s wonderland, it reused some of the old elements from the original script that Warner had. It’s a Nick cage movie and he takes out all the animatronics and it’s amazing

My guess would be that we are getting the titular five nights with the daughter/younger sister being under some sort of peril after the first night and serving as the motivation for the protagonist to keep digging and going back for the later nights trying to figure out how to save her.

I'm so glad they got the eyes right for springtrap. The eyes are so important and nothing has come close since OG springtrap except this movie
It does take place over multiple nights. One trailer scene shows him in the hospital sitting next to Vanessa, who somehow gets injured during one of the nights
So the idea of the movie being one night has already been thrown out the window since Abby is in multiple different outfits across the trailer.

Honestly I didn’t mind the red eyes in this trailer because it looks like how actual animatronics looked, with the weird red backlighting, it was more so the expression of the eyelids
i think the red/orange eyes look like theyre red plastic or a kinda red clear coat over/under white plastic with light shining through, hence the more orange look to them(EDIT: at least that first shot with freddy, tho later in the trailer it looks more of an intentional choice from the shot we see with bonnie. Bonnies, however, still looks painted/printed that way, so the rest of my comment still stands). Personally, makes it look like theyre hopefully using more practical effects as opposed to adding this stuff all in post production, which is always a big plus in my opinion. If the animatronics are actual animatronics, its going to make the horror that much more real, even if theyre more like animatronic puppets as opposed to all CGI. Its kinda getting me more hype for this movie even if we joke about High Freddy and Freddrugs.
This is all observation and opinion, feel free to disagree, its all subjective at the end of the day.
Let’s just point out the fact that the animatronics ARENT CGI they are actually built and they actually move- that is what is boggling my mind
