Yeah it’s unfortunate but the user growth needs to adjust to the most used method. That being said, the process to set this all up now is fairly simple. Not only that, but because it needs to perform well on phones- the desktop performance is miles better. It’s a win:win. Just a pain that it needs to be done now or your site is invisible. They estimate only 1.7% of sites will be impacted but that’s still over 21 million. I have to imagine a lot of those sites are small businesses who haven’t got around to updating.

As a heads up only, might help you in the future with videos and have more subscribers! People who read a script and do gesture with the hands as they speak they mind I always found it kind of weird and hard to watch (and i am sure i am not alone)! Apologyse but is a waste of a video even if is useful, same thing would be much more useful as a audio track mate, i think! Thank you for information and good luck!
Is it just the hand movement or the combination because I'm reading? It's my first proper video so lot's to improve, and appreciate the watch and feedback :D There's also a blog post version in the description if that helps!
Ideally Google is always trying to improve the user experience- if they start doing things that make it bad then people will do as you say and go elsewhere which isn’t great for their ad revenue. They’ve made a few dodgy decisions recently but this change has been on the books for around 8 years apparently. I have to imagine that most of those sites affected are small businesses with local customers. Maybe didn’t see any reason to update and those are the ones I worry about. Their local customers might freak out if they can no longer find them and go to a competitor etc.

Do not have my own site for anything but what about those searching? They miss out too. So I guess use anyone but Google to search?
