  • Based on the LAMY safari twin pen design, this 2 in 1 pen was developed for flexible use on both digital media (tablets, smartphones, notebooks) and analogue media (paper). Thus the LAMY safari twin pen EMR combines the best of both worlds - the advantages of writing manually with the unlimited possibilities of digital processing.
Digital writing system and ballpoint pen - in one writing instrument. Twist mechanism to change between systems.
*Do NOT write with the ballpoint tip on the ereader's surface.

Do the regular Lamy Al star pom nibs would fit with this one? This is exactly what I need. But wanted a pom tip as my replacement.

Where can I get the replacement for the ballpoint ink?

Does it feature a "back-tip" eraser tool like the Staedler, or the original RM pen? Are you forced to manually select the "eraser" tool of your device to erase stuff?

Do you know which nib is compatible with this twin pen for replacement?

Is the tip suitable for non-glasses device like Quaderno gen 2?

Hello Peter. Thanks for the review. You probably had the Lamy pen for glossy surfaces ["LAMY safari EMR twin pen PC/EL (for glossy surfaces)"].
There is another version for paper-like surfaces ["LAMY safari EMR twin pen POM (for matt surfaces)"].

The box is yellow instead of purple-violetish, as shown in your video.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab which I use to take notes and do homework on. I just can't see myself buying this over the regular EMR pens like the normal LAMY EMR, or Staedtler Digital Norris Jumbo, which feel great on a tempered glass screen. The frustration of accidentally using a ballpoint on my screen, along with the reverse, especially if I'm writing on a surface that might damage the nib of the EMR side, isn't worth only having to carry 1 pen for my tablet and perhaps notebook. Based on this review it also doesn't seem particularly easy to distinguish which is which when needing to quickly jot something down. Maybe if there was a color indicator, but that would take away from the classy look of this device.
Also ballpoint and gel pens are ridiculously cheap and small. I never only travel with my tablet in my arms, it's always in a purse or backpack where it's easy to store both an EMR stylus and a normal pen. It just seems like a gimmicky product.

I beg to differ, having _actually_ own this pen, I can say it's not a gimmick and very convenient in real-life situation, where you know, the rest of the world still requires wet signature and non-digital paper form. Even school still wants paper for small part of assignment and most exams.
I mean sure if you just stay at home with your tablet and/or just playing/being enthusiast with with tablet, this pen makes no-sense. If you work with other people (sadly EMR tablet is as ubiquitous as smartphones lol), you will soon or later face paper.
The fear of scratching the screen is IMHO blown out of proportion. Modern device has glass, and if you _actually_ use it as a pen (you know with driable ink) you will retract the tip after use. So you rotate everytime before use, and you know which way to rotate.
I just wish it has a button.

@@MagnuzMaximuz That's why I said that I never travel with just a tablet. It's always in a purse or backpack, where I have plenty of space for other pens. I also sometimes forget to put the cap on my pens after using it.

    • @MagnuzMaximuz
      @MagnuzMaximuz Před rokem

@@whenhen sure if you just use pen occasionally no problem having a dedicated one and keeping it burried deep in the bag.
Due to frequent use, I keep pen on my shirt front pocket usually (not retracting/closing the cap means a mess), so you get where I'm coming from. 😊
I'm sure a dual EMR plus actual ballpoint wont work for everyone, but it works for a lot of people, me included. I wouldnt call it a pure gimmick 🙂

Why not show the tip on camera? Does it have the tip made of soft material, as samsung s pen?

Why not show the tip on camera? We showed it nine times and throughout the 7 minute duration video. I'm not sure what you're talking about. Thank you

Been looking for a quality stylus without a lid for me to lose and I think I just found it. I'll be throwing the ballpoint canister across the room the instant I get it though 😅

This pen looks like a nightmare to me. I can already see the ballpoint scribble on my e-ink tablet
