How to make oatmeal:

Normally there are no treaty ports, no tiny west, east or Central West African nations, being Carlist just changes your gov type and party, not your country name. He's been playing mods the whole, which at this point most people do (I haven't finished runs as all the big ones so still on vanilla, but have played around with a bunch of mods before)

Spain is one of the easy nations to play in V2. You have a decent colonial empire in areas where you can expand, you can easily take influence over all latin America, you dont get revolutions on the 1840's or 50's, you only have one land border easily defendeable... If you are smart with 5 armies of 15k you can beat France at the pyrinees, take advantage of Netherlands defeat against Belgium and take indonesia, conquer poor-tugal, slowly take pieces of china such as Taiwan, take Vietnam, Brunei, siam... You get a upper foot at the colonization of Africa thanks to fernado poo island, you can change your government to carlist in early game to create and industrial base, not much population so unemployment wont be an issue early on, a ton of ports, a geographic position in Europe that prevents you to get involved in continental affairs or to be invaded (only threat is france and the UK) defending cuba from the USA is easy if you boost enough the defense of the islands, eventually when Philippines and cuba get civilized you get a massive industrial production boost, if you build enough your navy you can take China into your sphere of influence by the 1870s, also japan early game, mayor nstions such as france and Russia will seek your friendship, and the best part is that you can grow while in Central Europe people try to kill each other. For the contrary you have way to few pops, carlist are constantly rising, they aint dangerous but they are annoying, you never have enough troops early game and tou have to be constantly moving them from europe to america to the pacific... Balancing your economy at the early stages of the game is annoying, pop literacy is abysmal, gibraltar... Just gibraltar... Also if you make a friendship with Morocco they will behave way too well and never allow you a proper excuse to inquisition the shit out of them, as soon as Italy unify and Japan gets civilized you will struggle to stay as a great power ifnyou didn't built yourself enough early game, but as i just said early gsme Spain has a minuscule army and no money. Other than tjatnyou can get to nº1 if played well weity ease and never get as screwed as you get playing other great powers such as Austria or Turkey and is way more fun.

I have a video idea. You do a modified version of the random country thing you did ages ago in HOI4 but in Vic2. Instead of it being every nation, just go for all great + secondary powers and the aim being not to get the most power possible, but instead try and destroy the country you have control over in the most creative way possible.
