  • Work continues around the station area with the installational of four 3 Aspect Signals. There are loads of options for the OO gauge modeller but much fewer for the N Gauge modeller, so here I show you the simplest option I could find.

    Quick update: if any Locos do not catch the sensor simply a place a small sticker on the underside of the loco, (white or silver works) and problem solved 👍🏻

      I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..?
      I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.

      @Demetrius Ronald I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now.
      I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    Thanks so much for posting this video. I’ve just started building a new n gauge layout and have been looking at various signalling systems available. The extra long wire will allow me to squeeze some of those Heathcote units in!

    A great video Geoff makes installing colour signals quite easy doing that way.

      Thanks Steve, I was really pleased with how simple they were and the fact there was an option for when your baseboard doesn’t want to play lol. Cheers Geoff

    Hi Geoff, fantastic tutorial video and particularly useful for me as I am just finishing my own station at the moment 😎 Really enjoying your content and looking forward to seeing more of Pride Parkway 😉 Many thanks and best wishes from County Wicklow ☘️

    Thanks Geoff that was very informative as I've got signals to install. I was looking at traintech but as I only live a couple of miles from heathcote electronics I'll take a look at them. Cheers Andy

      Thanks Andy. Traintech have some fantastic stuff but I personally felt their range was lacking for n gauge. I’m very happy with these Heathcote products. Cheers Geoff

    Hi Geoff if you have any problems with Heathcote boards you can phone Clive. (Owner) direct and he will advise you on the signals especially if you add further block signals on your layout, I have several IRDAS Heathcote boards on my layout and are inter linked using just two wires between them with the mass sequencer being the last in line. They are brilliant piece of kit.

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  Před 3 lety

      Thanks Brian. They are very good indeed. The problem was a very simple fix, i simply added a small reflective sticker under the locos and that now triggers the IR sensor everytime. All the best, Geoff

    nice video Geoff like yourself I have no idea about signals but it was enjoyable to watch and they do look good working m8 all the best.

      Cheers Tim, I think in 00 you can really get some great detail but in n (for me) it was about just getting some representation of signalling and I think it does the trick. See you in the live shortly! Cheers Geoff

      Hi there, these are available direct from Heathcote Electronics or from a company called CR Signals. Thanks Geoff

  • @andyvance6675
    @andyvance6675 Před 3 lety

    Hi Geoff. I use a lot of Heathcote products and to stop the IR sensors triggering somewhere like your fiddle yard, tunnels etc I glue some thick black felt on the tunnel roof, and that seems to stop it. The felt seems to absorb the IR rather than reflecting it.

    • @PrideParkway

    What happens if a train from the opposite direction comes on the same track ?? Cheers Onno.

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Onno, the signals are aesthetic only. As they work on an IR sensor they will be triggered in either director. My layout is predominantly four loops, two up lines and two down lines so this isn’t a problem for me. Thanks Geoff

  • @dougparkjunction
    @dougparkjunction Před 4 lety

    Geoff, I think if you put a bit of foil or reflective surface on the underside of the train then it should trip the signal (but hopefully you have heard back from the supplier).
    I’m looking at signals for my n gauge layout at the moment and was looking a Gaugemaster or CR Signals. Still undecided.
    Cheers for sharing, Rich.

      @PrideParkway  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Rich, thanks for your comment, I shared my video on the n gauge forum and it was suggested there that I try a small silver stick and sure enough, works a treat, problem solved! Thanks very much! Cheers Geoff

      Pride Parkway I’m glad you got a solution. Would have been a shame if a couple of engines didn’t trigger them. Enjoy modelling over the bank holiday 👍

    Hi Geoff
    Great video I will be doing the same thing on my layout for my eckon signals in oo gauge.
    Wanted to ask you how much was the normal mass sequencer and the one with the extra long sensors and how did you fix the sensors in place with the wired version ??
    Peter from Birmingham

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  Před 3 lety

      Hi Peter, thanks very much, glad you enjoyed the video. I got the MAS sequencer from CR Signals and the wired version was only a couple of quid more, so not much. I drilled the hole and wrapped a piece of blue tack around the sensor and then ‘wedged’ it in the hole. A self adhesive cable tie under the board abs job done 👍🏻. All the best, Geoff

    Thanks Geoff. In the early stage of my build and signals have been an issue in the planning stage being N gauge. Are these DCC compatible do you know

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Jason, yes I believe that the lights are DCC compatibale you would need some sort of accessory decoder for them. I'm terrible at wiring which is why i went for these Heathcote MAS sequencers as they work straight from the box. There are lots of helpful information on the Heathcote website that might be useful for you. All the best, Geoff

    Hi Geoff..Excellent videos and layout. Could I ask how are the heathcote boards attached underneath the baseboards? Any pics or could you add a shot in a future video?

    • @PrideParkway
      @PrideParkway  Před 4 lety

      Thanks very much glad you like them. I simply screw them in, they have two drilled holes on the circuit boards so i just loosely screw them. I'm hoping to get a general layout update up this month so will show you in that video, hopefully that will help. All the best, Geoff

      Thanks Philip, that absolutely works, shortly after publishing the video I heard back and a small sliver sticker works brilliantly. Cheers Geoff
