- The history of the city of San Fernando Trinidad can be seen in the various old buildings in San Fernando, although we often do not realize that these are historic buildings. Many of these historic buildings are landmarks in San Fernando Trinidad, often used as directions, as in the phrase "on Library Corner". Although many persons may not realize it, these are visitor attractions in San Fernando Trinidad and provide historical sites for when people ask, what to see in San Fernando. In this video we showcase some of the historic buildings in San Fernando Trinidad and provide information on their history.

Very Much & Thanks.... Can you do a Vlog about the first T&T female police officer? that got a library name after her. Pearl Alexandrean Bruce
@@sknnyshug Well she was not really the first female Police Officer but she was part of the first batch of female police officers. However I am not aware that there is a library named after her. Could you tell me where that library is located?
@@pointboy12 I don't know where it is. I had seen a video of that about her. Thanks for the Corrections.
Well done Bryan, my home city where I were born and grew up. I was very impressed with all the history you shared with every Trinidadian. Again well done keep up the good work in educating your fellow citizens.
Thanks. I thought I should do it because so much of what is talked about is in Port of Spain so I wanted to show that San Fernando has history to.
Great informative video 👏🏿Keep up the good work 👍🏿
Thank you
love the history
Thank you.
Mr Ramsey, I really enjoy your channel, I always learn something, I grew up and still reside in San Fernando and never knew its history; thanks to your channel that has ended. Thank you. I ❤ your channel.
I am truly glad that you enjoy the channel.
Please do more of these.
There will be another San Fernando based historical video either end of May or early June.
Beautiful, informative video. I have often wondered about these old buildings; happy to have found out something about them. Well done! Thank you., Mr. pointboy.
It was my pleasure.
Thank you for sharing San Fernando. It's about 19 years since I have been back to Trinidad. One building that was missed is Susamachar Presbyterian Church which was dedicated in 1872.
Thank you for pointing this out. I cannot add it to the video at this stage but I will research and add it to the web site at a future date.
Very simple but yet informative.I think there is a hardware store on St James St which has been there for years and what used to be the biggest estate with a large wooden house formerly owned by a doctor near to Surgimed.
It looks like I have to do a follow up video. Will check out St James Street.
That hardware store is Henckels Hardware which has been operating for many years and the old wooden mansion on the hill has been torn down and replaced by a car park. I am sure there are pictures of that house in people’s archives.
Good stuff, suggestion please.
A wider angle view zooming in to.. as shown, would aid viewers connecting the location. Thank-you.
I will take the suggestion into consideration, thank you.
A very informal vlog, being from the east, I learnt a lot from your vlog. The detailed information was also a learning experience. The Ministry of Information should approach you to add this vlog to their library. Well researched production 👏.
Thank you
My hometown!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just wanted to show another part of Trinidad especially as I went to school there.
Thanks again.
Small correction. Facade. = Far Sad
The Charles Mc Enearney Company owned that building on Royal Road for many decades and it was later acquired by Ansa Mc Cal
Correct
Kudos to you Mr. Ramsey. Louis Homer (RIP) would be so proud. However, the Palace cinema location is not quite as illustrsted. It is still standing. It is the third building from the corner, not the corner building. It stands next to the Rattan store. The ruins are still there.
Thanks on Saturday I will pass and check.
Black Cat Hotel retained that name until at least the 1980s - not the sixties.
Although the name Black Cat was still painted on the wall on the side of the building apparently the official name had been changed in the 1960's.
trickidadians! 👍
I see you caught the small joke.
It's Ruth Avenue not Ruth Street.
You are correct. I put the correct name on the video at the start of the image but I did make a mistake in the audio section.
