Take a look at 84 jd and Kawasaki liquid 440 engine specs. I had a 84 jd liq we changed the heads to raise comp. Bumped the timing and rejetted it ,to kawi specs .we also turned the track around I was more worried about going not stopping bill w

What I would use is paint thinner.

Acetone would be an option

Use a chain instead of bolts,....

I’ve done that before too, but on really bad tanks I’ve had it gum up into one big ball before
