I actually started crying watching this, it just brings back my childhood with my father playing this game!!
Eli K i feel you mate. I felt the same nostalgic feeling playing this game on my childhood days.
I feel all happy and tearful when I hear the credits theme here despite having no emotional nostalgic connection to the game ( _well, at least not that much_ ).
It's just that it's a damn good game and music ^_^ So cry on! It's healthy.
amen Eli!!!!
@@ssj3goku.122 😂😂😂
You're definitely a pu$$y...lol
Always loved this game. Best Wrestling game I've ever played to this day.
+ThePiratecheese Too right, if modern wrestling games were made like this id own them all, instead of none of them lol!
This was my favorite wrestling game of all time at that time
the best wrestling game for NES.
Best NES wrestling game hands down. Used to play this for HOURS as a kid back in 1991. Those were the good old days.
Man, I remember renting this for the weekend as a kid. Good times.
Mr. Tangle VS The World I was just thinking about the same thing
Oh man, when I beat this game as a kid I certainly didn't want to do it again.
This game was difficult as balls. XD
the announcing on this game is better than the announcing on WWE 2K18
Honestly, not having text based games anymore is a real shame. Its much easier to have deeper and more involved text than it is the current spoken audio. Your never going to get the depth of spoken dialogue that you can with text. Text is just so much easier to do and takes so much less space
@@wildwest1832 , and anyone else that gives your below shit tier comment up votes, please do humanity a huge favor and go piss on an electric fence. Thank you.
🤣🤣
This was such an amazing game, its move set way ahead of its time too.
This game had an amazing soundtrack
Tecmo had the best NES games hands down
+Ty270 They most defiantly did. Its a shame they disappeared in the 16 bit generation tho.
+R TYPE 90 No doubt. I remember when I was a kid, making my periodic adventure to the video rental store, looking at Tecmo World Wrestling and passing over it because it didn't have the WWF characters. One day, I finally said let's just play it and I think that was the first all-nighter my friends and I pulled lol. Wherever the name Tecmo is found, there is greatness.
+R TYPE 90 They never disappeared after the 16 bit era. Tecmo came out with Tecmo Bowl Kickoff on the DS in 2008, Tecmo Bowl Throwback on the Xbox 360 and PS3, Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox and PS2, and the Dead or Alive series on several consoles.
What i meant was they disappeared in the 16 bit generation, they made no games on the Super Nintendo, Ninja Gaiden ect. also they did nothing on the Megadrive either. no ports, nothing. After the Playstation came out tho they suddenly reappeared and made games on home consoles again.
They mostly stuck to sports games (SNES and Genesis), and redoing the trilogy of Ninja Gaiden games on SNES, though the less said about the latter the better as the ports weren't really enhanced, and the music sounded not so good.
That play-by-play announcer and his quotes "A backdrop boy did he get hammered on the back of the head!!" and "That clothesline was real neck-ringer!! lol HAHA priceless!" great game I still enjoy in 2016!!
I had not remembered this game in over 25 years. A few days ago I remembered I rented a wrestling game with my Dad back in the early 90s. This is it! Brings back so many good memories. Games were expensive and renting them was much cheaper. Besides you could test the games.
I LOVED THIS GAME GROWING UP ALONG WITH PRO WRESTLING AND TAG TEAM WRESTLING!! GREAT OLD SCHOOL GAMES!!
tag team wrestling was easily one of the worst wrestling games ever imo. but i do agree with tecmo world wrestling and pro wrestling being greats. you could throw in wcw on nes as well.
Sooo many childhood memories with this. I was supposed to get it for Christmas but it never came in time from a catalog. I would run home after school everyday to see if it came. 3 months after Christmas it finally arrived. Played it like crazy. Superb.
What a game this was, the cut scenes of the finishers were sick, I used to love it!!!
Giant Swing!! Loved this game great memories!
Better than any WWF game on the NES.
damn straight. the WWF wrestling game was a joke.
charlie182x I wish WWF would have made a deal with Tecmo. That would have been heaven on earth.
We must thank Ljn (Laughin, Joking, Numbnuts).
Jonathan Turbide AVGN would have hated it.
@@jonathanturbide2232 I've mapped out a game, my idea of how a TECMO WWF game would have worked. Unfortunately, I can't code.
One of the better NES 'rasslin games.
Loved this game! Used to play with my friends and put on PPV's and everything.
Love this game. Watched my older brother play many hours. Played it with the wireless controllers. The cut scenes were amazing. I do the back breaker move from this game to my kids all the time, they love it. Great memories
Just found that video and... Wow the feels !
To this day, it's still my favorite wrestling video game ever. Used to play it like mad when I was a kid !
I'm from France and I think it has selled like 5 copies in my country !
I had one too. Let's find out the others 3 😉
Graphics were good, music was good, moves had cutscenes.... still fun to play to this day
One of my favorite wrestling games.
With the music in this game it makes me feel like I'm going through the levels in ninja gaiden!
This (IMO) was THE BEST wrestling game ever until the WCW games started appearing on N64
I agree completely. My brothers and I had notebooks with rosters full of our character names and in game characters to represent them. We tracks wins, loses, and title changes. Originally it was Tecmo but later WCW/NWO on N64
The first game I ever broke out of frustration in my life lol. I just couldn't get this game right, as amazing as it was. Loved the announcer on the bottom. It was an incredible game back then lol. The title music was one of the best themes on the NES
This game should be called " NO SELL WRESTLING." Getting flung out head first on the concrete and they get right up. Lol I loved this game.
The wrestlers sell the moves. It's just fast paced, making the wrestlers get up faster.
True. But it was an awesome game!! I still play it on my emulator on my phone lol
William Smith Cool, me too!
William Smith same
Basically it’s like today’s wrestling lol
So judging by the ending the final opponent is an actual demon who came to Earth to beat all the best wrestlers. That's...beautiful.
Easily one of my fav games when I was a kid. I hated getting far and then losing. This game was really awesome!
Surprised I've never heard of or played this one before.
Looks like I truly missed out, thanks for showing us this Valis77!
soundtrack is awesome!
Ripped off from Tiger mask the anime..
I had forgot all about this game. I remember playing it all the time with my dad. Great memories!!!
Just like in TECMO Super Bowl, TECMO demonstrates they understood the importance of a full, satisfying ending to a game.
Brings back many memories, and frustration with this game. You really need a turbo controller.
Thanks for posting this! Great nostalgia. 👍🏾
How have I never seen this game? I always loved tecmo
One of my favourite games of chilhood memoires during 90's. I love this game specialy when screen become close with signature moves like mask man spin the guy just like king in tekken series
this was so fun to play growing up.. my bro and I had this and the original WWF, and back then we thought wrestling was real.. so the moves in this game were CRAZY.. haha
And we all used our siblings as wrestling partners, with or without their say so.
I spend so many hours playing this as a kid. Loved this game. Not sure how it compared to any other NES wrestling games.
thanks for sharing World of Longplays
The sound effects were always hilarious to me.
Thats the greatest game music ever
I remember my mom bought this for me for Christmas around Thanksgiving. I found her stash, would play it until Christmas eve and slickly replace it into the box lol...memories indeed
“Techno World Wrestling” on NES is one of these 8-bit video games I’ve played, back when I was in the 4th grade!!! 🎮🎮🎮
I love this game.
I’m not even remotely joking when I say that this is more entertaining than watching current WWE.
Tecmo World Wrestling is one of the few Tecmo games on NES to not be based on an anime license.
I have this and it still works 30 years later.
I've always wondered why he wins a trophy not a belt
Ah, wonderful memories from this game.
Dr Guildo was unbeatable.unbelievable NES game top quality
He was the most popular character with the best looking moves, but his special pinning moves were not great.
The computer could easily kick out of them.
Other characters, on the the hand, had better pinning moves. One cut-scene move and usually it was over for the opponent.
10:35 Lugers torture rack = best move in the game
Dr. Guildo rules🤘🤘!!
The song at the title screen sounds like 'Easy Lover!' Lol!
It does indeed.
I loved this game as a kid.
my childhood, best wrestling game ever thanks
This soundtrack maaaan,I went 20 years in past instantly.
Didn't see this in 30 years. Heart breaking
TECMO released some good stuff back in the day!
I remembering loving pro wrestling and think it was the best. Then I played this one. It was awesome.
What a gem of a game, I can recall playing this for hours with my best mates. It caused many an argument mind lol, especially when laughing in the face of the friend controlling Rex Beet, golden times,
Tecmo made such good games back then. NBA, NFL, and MLB were great.
The music sounds strangely familiar to Ninja Gaiden. I wonder if it is because they are both made by Tecmo?
+Daniel Haar Jr They are both made Tecmo u just answered your own question LOL!
Daniel Haar Jr hahahahahaha
Well yeah... the publishers have copy rights to their music chips and samples they use. Wver notice how alot of Capcom game,s music have a specific sound about em? Or Konami? Same with Tecmo.
I wondered this same thing. It sounds exactly like a ninja gaiden level. If you didnt show the game I would thought ninja gaiden.
Damn these guys spend the whole match no selling each other's moves!!!!
This music brings back the memories for playing this game whit my brothers one of the best games for Nintendo 8 bit i will try to buy nes soon and probably the first game wich im gonna buy is this 👍🏻
Memories of my childhood👌
Why does the menu music sound like Easy Lover by Phil Collins? 🤔
This game is really underrated. I'm glad to have played it with my neighbors after we were done playing outside.
Underrated by who? It's a true classic and fan favorite, many see it as being the best wrestling game on NES by far, so who's underrating it?
I beat this game with every guy as a kid. Akira Dragon was by far the hardest.
No, winning with Akira was actually easy. His German suplex was so OP.
Just do a cut-scene German suplex with him, and the computer won't kick out of it.
Dr. Guildo was always my choice, giant swing was way OP.
Mine too. Just steamrolled guys
Memories memories man... I remember this game had alot of moves compared to the rest of wrestling games around the time. i love the close ups. That’s when you knew you were getting close. It almost reminded me mike tysons punch out. But with wrestlers instead.
bring back memories
Now do it without a turbo controller.
Classic I wanna play this game again
the animation in this is impressive for the tech
I miss this game
best wrestling game ever
Thank you. I always lost to that green guy (barca) with the clothline! Which you didnt seem to fight...
lOl;;; Well done Valis77, you have just brought me back to when I was 7 years old. That announcer kept chanting your name! This was the only best NES game title out of any other company who ever tried into wrestling business. Non of that stale LJN crap and Acclaim bankrupt asses. Temo had always did it better since Temo Bowl and the Arcade Ninja Gaiden 1. Too bad that the WWF (WWE) wasn't licensed with Tecmo at the time. It was a Saturday morning show in the 90's.
Hold up...Is that song in the menu screen is "easy lover" by phil collins?..lol
+Kristopher Hutchinson LOOOL
That's what I thought, too! lol
i love this wrestling video games this is the best wrestling NES hands down i November play this wrestling video games i was Little kid all the time is my favorite wrestling video games all time i miss play this wrestling video games 😪
Valis was clearly pulling Dragon's tights in the opening fight, come on ref!
Did this have a Japanese version, with the wrestlers that many of these are clearly based on ( I can see Inoki, Tiger Mask, Animal, Harley Race, Hogan, and Hansen).
I still play this game. Beat wrestling gane on the NES. Period.
My favorite game along with pro wrestling.
The commentary is actually pretty good.
Loved this game. I always chose Dr. Guildo simply because he had that airplane spin move.
damn...the memories...them feelz
I never did understand how people didn’t prefer this over Pro Wrestling. This is the best NES wrestling game by far!
SO MANY MEMORIES!!!!!!
That's the slowest tap count ever! lol
Call me insane, but doesn't the theme song at the opening sound a bit much like "Easy Lover" by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins. I swear, it sounds like it.
Yeah, I hear it now that you mention it.
I know, right? The melody's almost identical.
Perhaps because it was WrestleMania I's theme?
LOLZ! I used to do that same trick when the computer irish-whipped you to the ropes, just let him pass by, and immediately follow with a clothesline! xD
Strangely, in this game you couldn't make the CPU opponent submit (the CPU still could make you submit) but in the japanese version (Gekitou Pro Wrestling!! Toukon Densetsu) you could.
Funny how, around the 1990's many games for the NES had a final boss which would either be:
a) Some sort of Doomsday Device (Jackal, Metal Gear, Snake´s Revenge, Laser Invasion, Mission: Impossible etc), or
b) Some sort of monster/spirit/demon straight from hell.
Big0taz0 i beat blue devil by Argentine Backbreaker. Took me 20 minutes of him with no health. Dr. Guildo for the win!
Talon Gaudio+ Awesome :D
These wrestlers must be Terminators lol. Dropped right on their head on concrete but Boom! right back up lol.
Yeah the wrestlers were tough back then
Memories man!😅
Best nes fighting game spent so many hours on this.
Oh man! Bring it back
by far the best wrestling game on the NES!
Excellent
I had this game as a kid, always used el tigre and dr guildo
This music owns.
34:46
G1 climax trophy?
Some of this music sounds like ninja gaiden that's that tecmo sound
