- Here we have some TERRIFYING Old Bennie Lifts! These lifts are from 1983, which may seem quite old, but in my opinion they appear much older due to their very bad condition!
Bennie Lifts, apart from the controllers, are very similar in design to Express Lifts. In fact, Bennie even used quite a few Express parts on their lifts. Notice the governor at 12:33.
Admittedly, there isn’t a whole lot of ‘explanation’ in this video, but if you’re interested to find out more details of the workings of one of these 70s/80s Bennie Lifts, I’d recommend seeing these two videos from the @mrmattandmrchay channel:

Amazing lifts! There used to be a Bennie at the Natural History Museum. But that was Replaced with a Liftecknic Lift.

Just wondering, did Bennie had a technical agreement with Express Lifts?
I’m not sure to be honest. It’s known that Bennie used to buy in lots of their parts rather than make their own. I’ve seen Bennies with Marryat Scott motors, and also full on Express motors.
There are certain aspects of Bennie which are similar to Express though. The door operator is based on exactly the same design as Expresses, although it is slightly different, but it is definitely made by Bennie.
To me, Bennie sort of feels like ‘knock off Express’ lol! It’s like a lower quality and less polished version of an Express.
But anyway, I personally reckon that there wasn’t any ‘technical agreement’ as such, but they just bought in some parts from Express as they also did from various other manufacturers. I can’t say for sure though.
I'd asume you wouldn't give the location?
