An Italian who loves Sweden
Eurovision was born taking inspiration from the Sanremo Festival, which is the oldest Festival (it is a competition) in Europe. Whoever wins can also represent Italy at the Eurovision Festival, but for those who participate it is the Sanremo Festival that is important. It happened that the winner refused to go to Eurovision. You're right, the stage is very small, but tradition has it that everything takes place there and the scenography is always designed to visually expand the space (including a deadly staircase for those who have to go down it 😁). Last year Maneskin won and this year Mahmood and Blanco. And I cheered for both of them. Ah ... This year Maneskin were guests on the first evening (the Festival lasts 5 days) and they did 2 amazing performances.
This song was originally intended to be a stand-alone single collab to be released in January but they were both asked to compete in Sanremo and decided to do it as a duo with the song they had already written! It was a favorite from night one. They each wrote their own verses for Brividi and wrote the rest together, and it's basically them sharing their experiences with each other and finding common ground in their different stories. Mahmood is one of my favorite artists, I really recommend you check out his songs "Rapide", "Moonlight Popolare" (ft. Massimo Pericolo) and "Klan"! And I'm sure others can recommend some Blanco songs for you, he's been very popular since his debut last year.
The reason for this song being a collaboration is that Mahmood can’t sing without autotune. It uses Blanco to cover his problem with intonation.
@@wuka6844 alessandro does not use autotune, at most some effects in his studio recordings, but he has a particular style of intonation that sometimes mimics autotune. it’s a choice he’s making, and you don’t have to like it, but that’s the fact. he has taken vocal lessons since an early age and has great vocal control. listen to any of his acapellas and you’ll know it. just because nowadays it’s unusual to have vocal precision doesn’t mean his ability means he’s faking it using technology lol. do your homework next time

yup, for Blanco I'd recommend "Blu Celeste" which is probably one of his most intimate and personal song, to the point Michelangelo, the composer for the music took it as a challenge and tried to limit the background track and added effects only for amplify the power of this striking way of singing away grief and finally going on. Maybe I am partial cause I heard it while grieving myself, but he DOES have 'celeste' tattoed on his chest so... I do like the entire album tbh but that song is of course the main dish. Totally needs the translation to be enjoyed but I think this is valid for every song out there. You have to know what you're listening to.
ps everyone is talking about autotune here and there but I won't get into the debate. Even if they are using eachother to broaden their voice range and to compensate for their weak side...so what? That's what teamwork is about and that's why Brividi is such a good collab. I would've sweared these two were childhood friends from their chemistry and how well the balance and enhance eachother voices, instead they are just that good. Don't fight. (But maybe this is me not caring about autotune or not as long as a song gives me THE BIG FEELS of any kind)

This song is a collaboration between Mahmood and BLANCO (obv).
They won the Sanremo Festival with "Brividi" and now they will represent Italy at Eurovision 2022.
Mahmood is 29 and he became famous in 2019 when he won the Sanremo Festival for the first time with his song "Soldi" which came 2nd at Eurovision 2019. He published his first album "Gioventù Bruciata" in the same year and after that his second album "Ghettolimpo" in 2021.
Blanco is 19 (18 in this performance, he was born on the 10th of February 2003) and he started making music recently in 2020. He was one of the most listened artist during 2021 and now won the Sanremo Festival (that is REALLY a thing here in Italy).
He published his first album called "Blu Celeste" not long ago.

Ohhh, so glad you react to them! This two guys are very popular in Italy with a huge fan base. Are individuals that decide to go to SanRemo Song contest as a duo. They write their own songs so this lines too. You should definitely go to check their own discography. Blanco “ the rapper “ turned 19 just a week ago. Check “ Notti in Bianco” acustic version or Blu Celeste underwater live session. About Mahmood he came second on ESC in 2019. From him check Dorado, Rapide, Kobra..Can’t wait! Blanco did very few live performances with an audience before this which was their debut performance at Sanremo, hence their joy and relief at the end when they got through it successfully. It starts out as a very traditional Italian ballad which is not what you'd expect from a Mahmood and Blanco collaboration but gets more edgy as the song progresses. Expect a top three finish at Eurovision.

The place is a Theatre with orchestra ("orquestra" in english? I'm not sure). Here every year there is a singers competition called "Festival di Sanremo". Every musician sings a new song live for the first time. Who wins go to Eurovision Contest. Last year won Måneskin, this year Mahmood e Blanco.
The Sanremo winner has the option to go to Eurovision, it is not mandatory.
Orchestra in English is the same word and it's an Italianism but the stress falls on the "o".

It's not a "national final" for Eurovision. For the 1000000th time: it's the Sanremo Festival and it has NOTHING to do with Eurovision
During Sanremo festival, in the cover night, they performed a cover of a 1960 song called "il cielo in una stanza" (The Sky in a room).

@@SidJFarmer yes react to that performance for sure! the Sanremo festival lasts 5 (very long) days and on the 4th night they do covers. The broadcaster already deleted yt performances but if you want you can search for "sanremo 4 serata" in google, click on the first link and they perform it at 2:34:25. It's a couple of clicks but it is SOOOOO worth it! I listen to the cover every day lol

I would love to see your reaction to Alina pash - тіні забутих предків. She was supposed to represent Ukrainer in Eurovision this year but she had to withdraw due to some controversies because of a visit she did to Russian-occopuied Crimea a couple of years ago. So basically she won the national competition for Ucraine but then had to withdraw her entry from eurovision because she visited parts of her country she wasn't allowed to... anyhow, the song (and performance) is great and definitely unique.

After watching the official videoclip of this song I've come to the conclusion that this is the story of a throuple with two old gays and a very young malnourished guy who probably betrayed them with a long haired faceless girl. The lack of communication, the regrets and the sense of guilt of this emotionally impaired boy is so emotional when he fights his anger on his bike trying to capture clumps of isotopes in the air and running away, symbolically, from the vagina of a woman who expresses her archaic dimension by offering the owner of the sausage a gloomy den of blackmail and persecution 💓
