Jag is definitely brighter sounding. The finish is really beautiful. The fretboard is bound with big inlays. More vintage look. Has my vote.
Been thinking about picking up a Jazzmaster. Like the sound it makes. Been trying to resist getting another guitar but so it goes. Might just have to go ahead and get one. Cheers!

Jazzmaster is my new 'flame'. Love the tones it delivers. Magical pickups. Beware the various 'clones' which try to pass off P90s as JM p'ups. If budgeting stick to Squier. I've never met a Fender or Squier that disappointed.
That purple is to die for and n/a in Canada only in USA and the UK. Priced used ones but the shipping and handling have become prohibitive.
the jazzmaster is so nice… i own a fender jazzmaster noventa and it’s my favorite guitar i own… it’s tone is perfect for the type of music i play

I was dead set on getting a Jazzmaster but ended up getting a Reverend Airsonic. But I think a JM will be my next guitar.

I liked them both. The jazzmaster had a more rounded sound but I think I might need both to scratch the itch. Jazzmaster first though I think.

You can still get a nice grungy sound with a Jazzmaster

They both retail for around £350 new, they both come in various sets do kinda need to search a bit when buying

I’ve never owned or played either , I have strats, tele LP , great explanation and demo , sound wise they both sound good, but you don’t know which guitar is right for you until you sit down and play and feel it , but Id probably go with the Jazzmaster because of scale length and versatility , but hey you never know when a guitar will speak to you , I like to hear actual songs / phrases on sound demos , not shreds or blues / scales leads,etc.. so thanks again good demo 👍

No the bodies are pretty much identical
@@theguitarmanifesto Ah okay, I was under the impression on the originals there was a slight difference in the top horn being slightly bigger on one of them. Maybe that was early hand made ones back in the day. Cheers dude, great video as usual :)

I'm really fiending for a Jazzmaster. They seem to produce an ethereal, mystical sound with the right effects.
The Jag looks amazing, but every demo I watch, they seem just a bit "thinner" sounding than the Jazz, which may be what some prefer. Either way, Ive heard that both guitars can be finicky when it comes to the bridge, intonation, etc.
Definitely worth test driving them yourself, the bridges on these classic vibes are all sorted now with the Mustang style bridges
@@theguitarmanifesto That is really good to know! I didn't realize Squier had added the Mustang bridge as a default option now. I believe the Classic Vibes are under 500 bucks in the U.S. at the moment, and prob decent platform to do some upgrades if you wanted. Thanks for the demo, I really enjoy your channel!
Yeah they're pretty much good to go, they do ship the jaguars with 9 gauge strings, I recommend changing them to at least 10s to add some more tension.

Jag's feel SO good to play though! I have 2 JM's and a jag and find every since I got my Jag every other guitar doesn't feel as good, especially sitting down, it just hugs you!

Jazzmaster is peak fender. I have a fender contemporary with active pickups.

The jaguar really comes alive when you are tremolo picking, playing funk, or playing really lean, busy riffs. It's also got a more aggressive lead voice. I think it has a more unique sound than the jazzmaster, but the jazzmaster has a prettier sound.
Nice video and I am planning to get a Jazzmaster, but I have one question. Why does that shade of yellow make it look like someone pissed on your Jazzmaster's pickguard.

@@theguitarmanifesto How much did I cost? I guarantee it’s probably outta my price range, my price range being Harley Benton. (Which are surprisingly good for the price.)
I think I paid about £250 for it, it was used but minty fresh in the box.
I did make a full review video on it.
Harley Bentons are cool I've had a fair few in the past, but this is definitely a awesome guitar.
