Love Texas backroads, especially when they follow old travel routes. Great video and history. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it. I just captured some more West Texas routes last week and should have some videos up in a week or two.

At 7:02 in the video when you turned right how far does Old Latexo Road go to the left? I was expecting you to meet a Conestoga wagon or a Model T on the dirt portion of Old Latexo Road. At 8:57 in the video do you think that tank is an old oil tank? Is there oil in this portion of Texas? Another fine video!

The route to the left goes by some homes before ending behind a transformer station. I would guess that the tank is used for water locally as there is not a large water tower nearby. Oil does not appear to be much of a player in Latexo's history, but oil was produced in the area beginning in the mid-1930s. www.texasalmanac.com/places/crockett
