i KNEW you'd get it. lot of people saying they hoped the song had the new jeans sound, but i think they forget its a soundtrack for a game, it was so good to see them in this other style and see how well they adapted.
Excited to hear your thoughts. Bc this song made me a fan…. As a casual listener before, all their songs sounded fairly similar to me and range wasn’t obvious. But I LOVED this and was impressed with their versatility!

I agree so much with you. I was a casual listener and though I knew the members had a good vocal tone, I doubted that they had a good vocal range since their songs don't showcase that. This song showed how much untapped potential they have.

They are only a year old in terms debut, they are so many sides we haven't seen to them that are yet to come.
Plus, I believe a true artist knows how to adapt, conform and dabble into different style if they really wanted to.
i wish the "heart, unbreakble" was more of a belt. i think that would've been so nice in the song. but i understand it was riot games' final say and they were the ones to make the song. i was also so surprised to see this side of them. people were doubting when this collab was announced because this isn't at all their style or sound but come on. give credit where it's due, y'all. newjeans are pros and they've proved again and again they will deliver!
i definitely like the background adlibing and belting notes though!! they added so much to the song
I honestly didn't know if it was what riot / vocal director wanted or what. I do wish there was a strong prominent in the mix belt as well around there instead of unbreakable going down cause it felt anticlimactic. The girls did well otherwise!
It was obvious RIOT was going for the most popular new group. Not to downplay newjeans' talent though, props to them. They're showing versatility
Tbh as someone who plays and consume league of legends content, I would’ve been disappointed if the song was similar to newjeans’ music

Riot learned their lesson from last year with Starwalkin - Lil Nas X. It wasn't well received by league fans and has no "Worlds" feels to it. So they went back to what works.

I'm honestly OVERWHELMED. Like I knew it'd have this anthemic sound, due to being a League track, but hearing them give us an all English track that bangs this hard THAT IS ALSO almost 4 minutes... Mind-boggling.

Great analysis. I felt the same way about the song being different from the standard NewJeans sound. It made me excited to hear future project from them if they ever decide to go outside the box again. Speaking of which, G-Idle put our their new album Heat where they collaborated with 88 Rising. It’s another project where the sound is different from their usual style. IDK if you’ll like the songs but you might enjoy breaking things down.
The sound change from NewJeans for this project reminds me a little of the change Janet Jackson made when she released "Black Cat". Nobody expected this to happen, just like I am a little blown away to hear NewJeans doing this - and they did it very well.

I feel like the song would have been better with Aespa vocals especially since it sounds Aespa coded. I like New Jeans, but I felt that it wasn't a song for their vocals. But it's a good song!
