I am planning on doing Jerry's part in this song in an upcoming charity performance with Cubensis (Graeful Dead Cover Band) in Los Angeles next month and I cannot tell you how much this helps. I'm not a terribly advanced player and even worse singer. The extra bars and timing changes in this song are tricky but with your help. I can practice without having to compete with the vocals and your "cues" are great for reminding if I got them right or not. Much appreciate the work you put into this which of course keeps this awesome music alive!
Glad it helps. Yeah, the Dead definitely loved throwing in 'extra' bars, having measures of 2/4, 3/4, etc... Good luck at the charity performance!

Sounds great. I like the different approach to how you sing it. It has a real personalized touch to it. Great tune.
@@JeffWilliamsGuitar It took a while before I got a pro mixed version. I missed one or two changes but otherwise am pretty happy with my performance. Note that I never rehearsed or played this with a band. I practiced with your video and others for about a month and then just walked up and did this "karaoke" style.

@@JeffWilliamsGuitar nice... yea Jerry was no great steel player as he would have told you but he always played musical of course! I've got some videos on Jerry solos on my page as well.. but all acoustic stuff from Pizza Tapes, Almost acoustic etc......
I pretty much never listen to the Dead anymore but its sort of what got me into playing music in the first place. So its always close to my heart... but I've been approached about doing some shows and I initially said no but the more I thought on it I realized I've never actually studied Jerrys playing too much.. by the time I was even really playing lead guitar with any sort of confidence I wasn't really listening to the Dead much and wasn't playing it basically at all... so never really tried to learn too many Jerry phrases.... but with the downtime now and all.... :-)
anyways.. I shot you over 5 bucks.. least I could do for these great tracks.

Verse is incorrect. The A is 4 beast not two. The b is 2 beats not 1 and the E is two beats not 1. 😉 the music is correct though just the notation is off.
