    • @nox-qu1bm
      @nox-qu1bm Před 6 měsíci +4

      Yeah I wondered why he didn't talk about new RMCs (conversions as well as ground-up coasters) since CF didn't work with them again after their 2018 additions. It's assumed that the problems with Steel Vengeance (structural issues and the train collision shortly after opening) might have something to fo with that. Six Fkags on the other hand is as great of a RMC fan as ever. It would open up a possibility for Hurler's RMC conversion at Carowinds for example.

    • @Cat3465

      The new Six Flags will likely continue working with RMC. They’ve been a fan of them ever since the success of New Texas Giant and I see more projects happening that they plan on doing, such as giving both Roar and The Boss RMC treatment and a Raptor for SFGAm and then maybe another for my home park SFOG

    • @nox-qu1bm

      @@Cat3465 I don't understand why Roar is still Roar, I didn't ride it (as I was never in the US) but I heard bad things about it. It seems they did some trackwork recently, I read that in the comments of Chris's (Airtime Thrills) most recent video about roughest coasters of ech manufacturer.
      Recent trackwork if that's true makes RMC more unlikely but what I never understood was: Why had the Millennium Flyers from the Roar at SFDK (when it was converted to The Joker) never been moved to the Roar at SFA? Maybe they were sold off otherwise tho.
      I think most of the SFA crowd would have even been fine with a "Joker 2" (same layout) conversion.

    I agree that Six Flags won't sell off any oark either. The best example why is because SeaWorld Entertainment operates both SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa in the same state and they're both just a little over an hour away from each other. Six Flags doesn't have any parks that close to each other, but if they did, I see no reason why they couldn't keep two parks in the same market open the same way SeaWorld can. Even if they did want to sell off any parks, my first choices would be some unnecessary Hurricane Harbor properties. But if there was one park I'd want to see them sell off, it probably be La Ronde. Six Flags has neglected that park more than any other in America, and unless they now plan to treat it the same way as Canada's Wonderland, I think they'd be better off letting the Quebec government find better operators for it.

    I think most people's biggest concern is whether or not the Cedar Fair parks will be able to maintain a sense of individual identity. The chain certainly does have patterns (large parks getting B&M gigas or Intamin gigas, non Paramount parks having S&S drop towers, windseekers, Planet Snoopy... etc) but overall the parks get to have a sense of identity.
    Six Flags isn't 100% cookie cutter but they certainly are more so than Cedar Fair. They have their exceptions like Great Escape, Fiesta Texas and Fronteir City feeling different. And Great Adventure and Discovery Kingdom certainly benefit from their wild life exhibits. But in general each Six Flags feels like a modified version of the same overall thing.
    With time it seems inevitable that the staunch differences between each set of parks will begin to fade and I think we're all curious what will come out of it. Will they all blend together with cheap 2 dimensional DC comics and Looney Tunes areas? Hopefully not. But I also doubt that they'll all become vastly different from each other and be as unique and impressive as Fiesta Texas or Knotts Berry Farm.

      both chains have been losing money on competition with each other for years now , ticket prices have not changed in 20 years for most of these chains parks.
      that is what's been killing the industry, both chains are just keeping their heads above water financially .
      And yes some people will lose their jobs, and yes some smaller parks will be sold of/closed for ever, but they had to merge to both avoid bankruptcy in the future

      They haven’t even fully merged yet this is just them announcing it. I highly doubt six flags management has anything to do with King’s Island having a lesser schedule next year

      It’s not SF fault. Stop being silly. The merger hasn’t happened yet.

      Richard Zimmerman is the head CEO not Salim came on your smarter then this, are you an anti-six flags activist just to show your dislike for six flags well NEWS FLASH nobody cares and if you have pay attention maybe you could understand why they both agree that has been said by many times but you won't listen and you'll continue to say that you hate six flags while everyone just ignores and doesn't care
      the merge won't officially happen till 2025 so both park will run like they normal do till 2025 season
