Installation of a gas strut kit for the Ford Focus RS Mk3
This kit requires NO cutting of any plastic parts

Hi, i'm tring to install this strut but at the last point, can't push hood up. How did you do that? ?
Thanks for posting....the last part you didn't film I assume was a two person job.....to lift the bonnet high enough while someone could locate the ends of the struts and secure the cir-clips ?
roggt1000 Hi, I did or should I say i started to film the end but it is quite hard to push the ends on as the struts are about an 1" long and hard to push up that 1" and fit, I did do it on my own but took to long so I stopped filming

Hi . We make this kit . Liking your video its very informative. Yes there are a couple of tricky bits but overall it is pretty straight forward. We do have online instructions on our Facebook page. It can be fitted by yourself as you have done but as with anything 2 people makes it easier. The scariest part is pushing the bonnet up as high as it will go to connect the strut to the wing bracket. I think owners are always more gentle but having fitted loads of these i find a quick shove upwards with simulatanous pushing the strut end onto the wing bracket normally has it on in seconds. Dont try to compress the strut..you wont!

NB STyling Hi, This is a great kit as there is no cutting of any of the plastic,and as you said it's all about how far you push the bonnet up, one thing I would ask is why not use a Nut on the ball pin on the bottom bracket instead so to make it easier than pushing the fixed Nut though the plastic
We trialled the wing bracket with just a hole with a stud and nut but found it would bend as the force was over a small area. With the rivnut installed it is much stronger and doesnt bend
Hi,Good answer , I work in a sheet metal department and have done for 23 year, i did look at the brackets and was going to replace them with 2mm stainless ones and shine them up but just didn't get around to it
