It's not affordable for the average consumer just yet, but it's definitely moving in the right direction. I like it!

If you have a Best Buy card and credit it is high enough, you can get it through Best Buy with zero interest financing for 24 months. I'll probably stick with my Zappiti though. Godzilla Minus One and Top Gun: Maverick look and sound awesome on it and there is only so much you can see and hear.

BRING IT DOWN TO $1000 AND GIVE THE OPTION TO ADD STANDARD EXTERNAL DRIVES THEN WE GOT A DEAL

I appreciate that they're trying to appeal to a lower price point, but the Strato S was a much better deal at 6TB for $5500. I wish they would have put more storage into this one.

I think I am in the minority here and lack enthusiasm for this product. At least at the offered price point.
I understand they have R&D and studio costs but it’s just not an attractive price point for me.
Therefore I have to disagree Chris, it doesn’t remove the barrier to entry at all for me, and I would submit for many others too. $4000 is quite pricey for this.
I think if they sell this at $1000 it sells like hotcakes.

Can you do scripts for a demo reel like the regular systems do or is that another limitation of this watered down GUI? Just curious as I might consider this if I could start using it on day one exclusively as a movie demo unit.

The Ethernet port on the back is only a 1 Gbps port, not 2.5 Gbps as mentioned in your video. It is however capable of faster downloads than prior units with a 1 Gbps port due to the faster processor being able to handle the bandwidth better.

Do they require you to run audio and video separately or are you able to run both through HDMI?

I would buy it if it had the motion AI, that was a feature that really caught my eye as a JVC owner - the motion isn’t great on the JVC’s

Not me my friend several years back I bought the Kaleidescape strato c 6 terabyte for 8 grand , just see if it could produce better sound and video than my moded oppo 203 that I paid cinemike over 2 grand to modify in Germany. He put all high end components in my oppo 203 and every components was replaced in the components that were a spec of dust on the board was replaced , and I sent my Marantz proccesor to be modified by him for another 2 grand , both my oppo and proccesor with a much better power supply, I had my cousin and friend come over and I put on the greatest showman movie with settings the same on the kaliedoscape and the moded 203 , the scene when Jenny Lind had her big song dynamics on the moded oppo 203 blew the kaliedoscape out of the water, and scens you can hear clinging of silver and whispers and ambiance of the room. ME MY COUSIN AND FRIEND WERE BLOWN AWAY And once I got my proccesor moded by him it's even better and I spent about 4500 vs the 8 grand I spent on the kaliedoscape, I sent the kaliedoscape right back from were it came from .

Great they added DV. But still no 3D support, I'll have to stick with my DIY server and storage which gets me 90% or equal to what this will provide.

I'll rather go with a Zidoo UHD8000 any day, which is extremely well equipped and not overpriced like any Kaleidescape unit that's currently released.
I would much rather invest the extra cash on other home theater gear rather than just dropping it all on one piece of electronic gear that in my opinion is way overpriced...

Affordable for whom, exactly? Adding DV and lossless audio support in 2024, like they rediscovered fire or smth? What the hell, people...Any mid-tier, decent 4k/blu-ray player on the market offers these wonders of the AV world, for at lest 10 years now. Hell, you can buy the ultra high-end Panasonic UB9000 for just a fraction of the price. I just don't get the hype and buzz for this overrated and overpriced player. Yeah, I know, convenience and stuff, saving space, blah blah. Regarding the so-called convenience, you should think about it more; it takes at least 10 minutes to download a movie on this one, and just a few seconds to load a disc in a conventional player. Yeah, I know, unbelievable. I understand the utility of such a player, I really do. But to call this "affordable" and keep a straight face...that I don't understand. Nor its main selling points, as shown above.

4K discs are capped at 66gb excepts for Avatar2 on a 100gb disc. Kscape is not capped on their content so in most cases you are getting more information than on a disc. They average 80-90gb per title. I'd def tell you to go to your dealer to get an A/B demo to see/hear the differences.
